Morgan was headed over to the training field for his morning gym class, pacing himself with a light and comfortable jog. He knew he didn't have to worry about running out of stamina anymore, but it still felt really weird to him to actually run at his new speed, even though he could reasonably control it. He wasn't sure what the plan was for today, just that they'd be doing something outdoors, but he spotted his classmates easily enough. Not super uncommon since he'd been turned and dealing with all the associated mess that caused, he was showing up a little bit late.

After a quick reprimanding from his teacher, mentioning how if he kept showing up late then he'd land himself in detention, he hurried over to join the rest of the class. His eyes quickly enough scanned over everyone until landing on Yasmin, someone he talked to more than most of the others in the class, and someone he knew to actually pay attention to what the hell was going on. Giving her a quick wave to get her attention, he leaned over, kinda stage whispering, "So, uhh, what's the plan for today?"

Yasmin was very not excited for today. P.E. was always the class she hated the most. Most of the time, her exercises had to be adjusted for her physiology. It made her feel left out and different when everyone else could go jogging and she just slithered.

Nevertheless, she was fully prepared for the fitness test. She arrived to class on time and paid full attention to the teacher. Unlike her classmate Morgan, who once again, showed up late. Was he always this tardy? It felt like recently he hadn't been... him. In the end, it was not Yasmin's right to judge him. She had no idea what could be causing him to come to class late so many times. It could be a potential sign of depression or the stereotypical teenage rebellion.

Morgan came over to her, asking about what he had missed. "Hi Morgan. You hadn't missed much. We're about to begin our fitness test."

Pretty much the moment that the word 'fitness' came floating out of Yasmin's mouth, Morgan's utter dread was clear as day on his face. "Aw, fuuuck, really? That's today?" He stood up straighter, rubbing his eyes and then his temples. "I hate these things. Always seem to pop up when you least want to deal with them." Of course, while that was true for many people, and seemed innocuous enough, Morgan had quite a bit more reason to be anxious.

He was fully aware that anything to do with strength was going to be...problematic, at the very least. Unfortunately, there was no shortage of those particular tests: grip strength, pull-ups, long jumping. Hell, they might have even decided to pull out the shot put. Glancing back over to Yasmin, despite his current stew of worry, he gave her a small, reassuring smile. "I know you ain't a fan of this either. We'll get it over with together, though, huh?"

Yasmin shot Morgan a disapproving look for cursing in class. They were being bad enough by talking as the teacher taught. "I'm not happy about this too, but yeah, we'll get through this. We should be quiet though. Don't want to teacher targetting us specifically."

The teacher listed out what would be done on the test. The focus for today was on lower body strength: walking, running, and squats. Yasmin was called out to not do squats and instead wrap herself around a large workout ball. Students were each judged by the scale corresponding to their type of strength. It would be awful to assume the normie humans should match up to the vampires, or that the demons had to act weaker to be like the gnomes.

The test wasn't expected to go on for too long. If there was time afterward, they might be able to play dodgeball. Great, another game Yasmin had trouble with.

Morgan cringed slightly at the look Yasmin gave him, nodding hastily at her suggestion to pipe down. As the teacher continued explaining what would be on today's test, his posture became notably more relaxed, much of his previous tension melting away. Lower body things, good, fine. Running wasn't so bad, nor walking, obviously. Squats didn't sound like much of an issue, but he wasn't a hundred percent on that.

Once the teacher had finished explaining and was starting to lead the students onto the beginning of the track, Morgan gave Yasmin a quick wave before heading off to start the walking portion, which obviously wouldn't be any trouble. "Have fun with your ball...thing! I'd trade you if I could, because that actually seems like fun." He called back while he made his way over, and about a minute later started on the walking section.

Morgan looked to be taking the news well. Good, she didn't like seeing him get all riled up like that. She didn't like seeing anyone get riled up and nervous, other than those who needed to for whatever supernatural health reason.

Too bad she had to be separated from the group later on. The walking and running sections weren't just fine, other than her not actually really walking or running. For her, it was slithering and slithering fast. So already chatting with Morrigan in the first place, she caught up to him and slithered at a walking pace

"See? This isn't bad. Few minutes of walking. Few minutes of running. Some squats. Then dodgeball." She gave Morrigan a reassuring look, trying to ease away any lingering anxieties he had. Then, he put on a cheeky smile. "At least you don't have a long body that's easy for people to aim at. Even the tip of my tail counts! So unfair."

Morgan had, for whatever reason, assumed that Yasmin was going to be tackling ball exercise first, so he gave a slight jolt of surprise when he heard her talk again. Of course, it didn't help that slithering was notably quieter than actual footsteps. "Oh, sh-...uh, yeah. Nah, this ain't too bad. I was expecting more, like...lifting stuff." His mouth curled in a mild grimace at that, before shaking it off and continuing on.

It wasn't long before they had walked/slithered a couple laps around the track, and the shrill, metallic shriek of their teacher's whistle near the starting line indicated that it was time to move on. "Aw, man...it was a nice walk while it lasted." Morgan stuck by Yasmin while they made their way back over, and he began to busy himself with stretches as soon as they had.

"Just three laps, easy as pie." He glanced back over to his serpentine friend, giving her a rather awkward closed lip smile, something she'd definitely be able to pick out. Moving down to touch his toes, Morgan ran a hand over his calf, relieved that there was no abrupt muscular change. In just a few seconds, their timer would start, and after a brief moment of confusion he swapped his stance to that of his more prepared classmates on his right. He was sure that he could do this.

Sprinkles knew that Morgan wasn't strong compared to the rest of his family. It stood to reason that any test that put that on display would still make him uncomfortable. That's why Yasmin was pleased to see he was enjoying himself with what had been prepared for them today.

Then Yasmin became suspicious. She had thought he was becoming more confident with how casually he spoke. That was until he gave her a tight smile that anyone could tell wasn't genuine. She tried to stay focus on herself, but once in a while, her eyes would be drawn to Morgan, trying to figure out what was making him act so weirdly. Just in case he was still feeling anxious, she mouthed him Good luck, then slithered off.

With how distracted he was with stretches, and then how he focused forward on the track, Morgan hadn't caught the glances his friend was sending his way at all, completely oblivious and living in his own little world. The 'good luck' snapped him to attention, however, and a good thing that it did given he hadn't heard the cue to start at all.

Hastily nodding his thanks to Yasmin, Morgan was off with the rest of the group, and to his great relief he was keeping a steady pace with the others so far. He did speed up just a bit so he could catch up to Yasmin, his hoof beats filling the air with a sound entirely distinct from the shoes most of the class had on. Morgan looked back over at Yasmin, speaking again while they ran, and in doing so being suspicious once more, given his breath was entirely relaxed while he talked. "Yeah, this ain't bad at all!"

By the time they had finished their first lap, Morgan had managed to relax himself almost completely, no longer stressing about his new abilities showing. Though, unfortunately, his relaxation was a bit premature. Since he'd stopped focusing so hard on control, and was just enjoying himself now...Morgan started to speed up. It was only gradually at first, without even realizing, but after finishing the second lap he was running a little over twice as fast as his previously recorded speed, with practically zero self awareness.

Things kept getting weirder and weirder. Morgan was running and keeping up fine with Yasmin's speed. When he spoke, he didn't sound tired out at all. It was like he was going on a casual stroll. And the more relaxed he looked, the faster he got. Now he was going faster than Yasmin. What had happened to him?

When they moved onto doing squats, Yasmin gasped along with everyone else when it was Morgan's turn. He had broken the weights he was lifting. That was it. Something had happened to Morgan, and the teacher's obvious confusion only proved it wasn't something she knew about.

After a dramatic dodgeball session to end class, Yasmin approached Morgan in the hallway. "What's going on with you? I've never seen you pop a ball like a balloon before."
