At last, Lunchtime. Elisha hadn't expected to be so hungry, but now she had the chance to have something to eat, she was ravenous.

Stacking her plate with as much as she can fit, she saved a small space for the cake she saw at the end. It was chocolate, a flavour she had grown to like, and thus, was looking forward to having some.

Making her way over, she dodged the river of people before her, until finally, she was at the prize.Despite her speed, there was only a single slice left, and now it was all hers. Quickly, she reached for it.

((Sorry it's short. It's surprisingly hard to write a cafeteria rush))

Just as Elisa's hand was about to reach the dessert, it was snatched away by a swift chitinous hand. It was Regina, the bee-girl. Her two extra hands were holding a tray of sweets and cups of sugary fluids, freeing up her normal hands to hold or grab more of the same.

In the next few seconds, Regina noticed that this was the last slice of cake left. Elisa probably wanted some too, and Regina got to eat sweet things all the time. This wasn't even her first time having cake today.

"Um... sorry. Here."

She sheepishly offered it back to Elisa.

Watching the cake be taken away swiftly by what she could only describe as that of some sort of human-bug hybrid of a hand. Following it, she noticed the girl in front of her followed the same description. Her appearance, while not repulsing, surprised Elisa, as she wasn't expecting to see a humanoid Bee today.

As she reeled back from her reaction, Elisa realised that the Girl was handing her the slice of cake that she had taken. "Oh, thank you?"

She was about to walk off, but then she stopped and turned back. "Would you like to sit with me?"

Regina noticed the way Elisa reacted to her, and it was making her uncomfortable. She stood, looking down at her tray for a moment, melancholic.

Then the girl asked if Regina would sit with her.

"Uh... sure! Why not?" She smiled. Maybe she was just overthinking that reaction. Regina knew she was pretty, anyway. Maybe it was just the fact that Regina stole her cake, or something innocent like that, which had nothing to do with her appearance.

"Okay, then." She smiled back. She was getting better at starting conversations! "Follow me. I can find us a seat."

Looking over the cafeteria though, she couldn't really see anywhere she herself would want to sit. Usually, Elisa sat outside on the steps nearby. "Uh, how about we go outside? The place looks pretty full."

Regina could go with that idea. On her bad days, when she was afraid of running into her siblings, or afraid that eating all this dessert would make her look like a slob, she would eat outside too. Usually on the roof. That way not as many people would see her.

Today wasn't one of Regina's bad days, but at least she would be outside with someone else.

"You want me all to yourself, huh?" She smiled and winked at Elisa. "Let's go, then." She'd let Elisa decide where they sat.

"Oh, I guess I am whisking you away from everyone here" She smiled back, not quite getting what she meant. Elisa just thought she was being nice.

She took Regina's hand, leading her through the crowds. It wasn't that busy like she said, it was just that all the desirable spots were taken. All that was left were ones near the bins, or those affected by previous students, leaving them either wet, broken, or other things that could only be left by something not human.

The moment they stepped outside, almost all the noise disappeared, and they were met with a cooler breeze. Not blistering, but compared to the warmth of inside, it was a bit of a shock.

Regina looked around for a good spot to sit with Elisa. Her usual roof spot wouldn't work very well, since she didn't know how easily Elisa could get up there. But there was a set of stairs a little bit farther down the walkway, and Regina rarely saw people walking along there, so she led Elisa over there to sit with her.

"So how long have you been here, Elisa? I haven't seen you around much before."

She would start working on her plate of desserts.

"But I'm just in the remedial classes though so I don't really know a lot of people yet."

"Oh, I'm sort of... kinda... fairly new here?" She said questioningly. Technically Elisa as a person was new, But Eli had been here a while. "I'm nearing the end of 11th grade though, so I might as well say I'm here for the Senior Year."

Elisa followed Regina as they went to the steps. Sitting down, she began to eat her sandwich."So what's remedial like?" She asked the girl.

Looking at the other girl's plate, she wondered if Regina had to eat a lot of sugar, or if she was just fond of it.

"Remedial's pretty frustrating, for me" Regina said. "Like, it all seems really easy, but then there's always something that trips me up that everyone else gets, and it holds me back."

She took a bite out of a blonde brownie, taking her frustration out on it. "It might just be because my instincts are really different from a human's."

She wanted school to be over for her already. She didn't have enough time lect alive to be wasting it on class.

"But how are normal high school classes? Any cute guys in your grade? Or are you more into girls?"
