A simple Christmas with a Friend

Raziel moved silently through the halls toward Alouette's dorm, a small Christmas gift in his hands, a teacher had given him some spending money to help him on his way, he had decided to use it to buy his friend a gift. He quickly found her dorm and knocked on it, he waited with a calm smile for her to answer the door.

Alouette was curled up on her bed, quietly reading the book in her lap when a quiet knock on the door brought her out of the pages of the book. She cleared her thoughts with a slight shake of her head, settling the book on her nightstand after placing the bookmark in and sliding off her bed. She was currently clad in a stylishly oversized, forest green sweater and capri leggings, her fuzzy-socked feet finding their way into equally fuzzy slippers as she shuffled to the door.

Opening it, she blinked at the tall figure of Raziel before offering the boy a warm smile and opening the door wider to allow him entrance. "Razzy! Oh, come in, come in. I wasn't expecting you, but it's nice to see you." She had taken to calling him 'Razzy', since Raziel seemed like a bit of a mouthful. Plus, she thought it was cute, and so she indulged herself.

He smiled when she opened the door, "thank you Aloue," he had decided to give her a small nickname as well. He walked into the dorm, "I hope you don't mind me coming by, I wanted to give you sonething."

He pulled the snall Christmas gift from his pocket and handed it to her, "it's not much, but I wanted to get you something." His smile never left his face, "you've done so much for me."

Alouette's own warm expression brightened considerably at his use of her own nickname, a pleased look entering her eyes even though she quickly shuffled away to hide it. She went to lean against the trunk that was placed at the foot of her bed, oblivious to the absolute disaster her room was- books were haphazardly stacked here and there, little trinkets balanced precariously on top, various scarves and shawls flung this way and that, with an adorable assortment of plants settled on the otherwise bare window sill. It wasn't dirty, not at all, merely disorganized, though Alouette could find what she wanted within moments without being hindered by the clutter.

"You know you're always welcome here, Razzy." She said firmly, blinking slowly as she was presented with a small box. She glanced between the box and his face, out to object, but she saw quite clearly how much he meant it- he didn't feel obligated to get her a gift, which would've made her feel guilty. Instead, she accepted it with graceful gratefulness, taking the box into her hands and opening it with careful moments.

A soft gasp was all Alouette could manage, her slender fingers running along the chain of the necklace. "Oh! Oh Razzy, it's beautiful. Thank you so much!" She squealed happily, placing the box on the top of the trunk so she could throw herself at her friend, hugging him tightly.

She remained clinging to his larger figure for several moments, secretly basking in the warm contact before she pulled away and rushed to her bed, kneeling down to rummage through the space under the bed. "Well, I guess that means I don't have to worry; I got you something too, you see, but I was worried you'd be upset that I got you something." She babbled quickly, her voice slightly muffled as she searched.

He smiled and hugged his friend, "I'm happy you like it, a pretty gift for a beautiful girl," he greatly enjoyed being around her, and very much appreciated all she had done for him. "Merry Christmas my friend," he told her in french.

He grinned as she pulled away saying she got him something, "angry? Never, I don't think I can get angry with you." He smiled, "you didn't have to get me anything but thank you," he voice held true gratitude.

"Though I do wish I could have gotten you at least a few more gifts," he was happy she liked the gift, "you've done so much for me."

Blushing lightly, she rolled her eyes with a smile, sighing contentedly; for all that he'd learned French with his powers, it sounded nice when he spoke it. Still, she wouldn't let it distract her as she went looking for his gift, muttering under her breath about where she possibly could have left it. "Razzy, the necklace it absolutely perfect! You don't need to worry about getting others- you put thought and care into this one, so I'll treasure always." was her muffled, if genuine response, which was cut off by another set of mutters as she banged her head again the bed frame. After a few more moments of digging, she let out a triumphant noise, shimmying from under the bed with a small, Christmas colored bag.

Alouette stood, her hair slightly tousled and her sweater a bit dusty, smiling shyly as she handed him the bag- inside, among festive tissue paper, was a smaller bag of velvet that housed a necklace of its own. It was a thick chain design in silver, clearly meant for a man, with tiny details and etchings on each link of the chain. "I was worried it wouldn't arrive in time, you see. My uncle made it as a favor to me- he's good with jewelry and metal working-, and then another one of my cousins did the runes on the links." She explained in an excited rush. "It's got minor protection spells weaved into it, from most of the major things you can think of. I know you like going exploring and testing out your powers, so this should keep you at least somewhat safe wherever you end up going. It's not powerful enough to be anything definitive like a shield, but it should be enough to ensure that you'll not be bothered by those with ill intent if you're out flying. It'll also keep you warm in the winter wind!"
