"Oh wow! You work at big floaty space station thingy way way WAY up in space?! Oh you must have a wonderful view up there! I've been there a couple of times myself to deliver packages up there every once now and then. I mean, you can see almost anything from up there! I personally think you have a great job going for you Jackal... even if you think of it otherwise!" remarked Tengu, giving Jackal her utmost attention. Her admiring gaze then shifts as she tilts her head to one side, giving him a most quizzical look.

"Though... with a name like Jackal I would have thought you at least having fluffy ears and tail instead of a..." Tengu then pauses in the middle of her sentence as her roll up to the ceiling as if the word she was looking for was written up there somewhere. In half second her eyes once again lock back onto Jackal as the word in her mind finally comes to her. "...a buggy tail? Yeah! Well I guess the sharp point teeth are somewhat fitting right? But then its not like we get to choose our names right?" babbled Tengu, stilled mused by his curious name.

"Anywhoo... pretty all of the important stuff was in the ad I think. Just need to get my landlord's approval but she is super sweet and will most certainly give her okay once she meets you! I can see that your a good person!" said Tengu without a hint of irony in voice. In fact, she would have sounded quite earnest with her spoken words.

She was... nice? Sweet? Jackal could think of a lot of words to describe Tengu, which were a very interesting mix of nice and very, very mean, but he mostly pushed the mean ones away. They were supposed to be roommates. That meant being friendly.

"I did pick mine," Jackal pointed out, short and too the point. No, it didn't fit him--he wasn't a child of anubis or something weird like that, but it fit him in other ways. "It has certain associations I like... and the teeth." His tail swayed as he thought of it.

"And the tail's not really buggy. It's supposed to be... armored. I guess..." Jackal paused and squinted at his tail briefly. "I guess it's kinda buggy?"

He'd never really thought about it.

"Do I go see her myself, then? Or do you take me down and introduce me?" The latter seemed like it'd go better, but if the landlord had taken on Tengu, he was sure she'd be fine with him.

"Hmmmm... well buggy was the only word I could think of when I saw your tail. I don't think I recall meeting anyone with a tail like yours... but I think that is the beauty of this place! You always see something or someone new that you never quite seen before~ And I think that is always a wonderful thing yep yep YEP!" piped up Tengu, her twin antennae perking up as Jackel suggested that he go meet the local landlady.

"Oh yes! We should go do that together! I can take you straight to her but uhh..." Tengu glances the door. She bites her lower lip, somewhat dreading the thought of walking through the hallways to get to the landlady. Normally she would just hop out the balcony and fly down to the ground floor entrance and walk past the lobby if she needed to get to the landlady's office. But that would leave Jackel to have to walk down to the first floor all by himself. Then an idea struck her head.

"Oh! Give me a moment!" chirped Tengu as she folds her wings and goes to squat. As she lays her wings low to the ground, two clicks could be heard, then a low hiss followed up with two heavy thuds as Tengu's two metal wings pop from their sockets and lay in the middle of the room. She then stands straight up and stretches her stump arms as if she had just released a heavy burden off herself.

"There we go! I'll take you straight over to the landlady now! She may seem a little intimidating but I promise you that she is a real sweetheart!" assured Tengu as she walks over to the door, reaching out to the doorknob with her now non-existent limb. At first she was confused as to why she hadn't felt the door knob but when she looked down to her stump arms that was when she remember.

"Ohhh right..." her head immediately spins to Jackal, wearing her friendly smile as she asks "Do you think you can get the door for me? I am in need of a hand here~" she requests, trying to hold back a giggle from her own terrible pun.

Jackal had really never given his tail all that much thought. It had always been part of him, and even though none of the other zabaniyya had the same style, it had always just been... him?

He considered it for a few moments more before returning his attention to Tengu, just in time to watch her squat down and... detach her wings.

What.

Jackal's eyebrows furrowed together as he stared at her, trying to puzzle out what he was seeing. Of course, his brain had thought some kind of cyborg when he'd seen her metal wings, but considering how she operated, he'd assumed they were permanent, not just some kind of weird prosthetics she could just pop off like it wasn't any big deal.

"Doesn't that hurt?" Jackal asked as he got the door, holding it open for Tengu to pass through, and being extra careful not to let the door smack them on the way through. He was used to being cautious about that, mostly because of his tail, but he was on his very best behavior considering they hadn't signed a contract yet.

Tengu looks one of her stump arms, then looks at the other. She then looks to Jackal and after some consideration she shakes her head from side to side.

"Nooope! Not even a pinch!" exclaimed the mecha harpy as she flailed her nub arms about. Tengu the gives off the biggest grin she could muster and strides out the doorway. Once she scoots herself safely out the door and past Jackal, she turns her head just enough for him to see the side of her face.

"Thanks for holding the door for me! Cause if you were not here I would have had to tried to open with toes... and that would have been really really awkward!" remarked Tengu, tapping one of her razor sharp talons as she ends her sentence. She then looks down to the her two cats sitting by close to the doorway, looking up to Tengu as if perplexed as to why their caretaker is leaving them so soon. "Oh don't worry my furry bun-bun, I'll be right back once me and Mister Jackal go talk to the landlady to finalize everything. Then you have have a new friend living us!"

Tengu smiles to her two beloved pets, then looks to Jackal and speaks in a hushed voice "Okey make sure they don't slip out the door while you close it. I don't want them to accidentally wander off." she then takes a moment to stretch what remains of her arms, a rare opportunity given how cumbersome her wings would have been in a narrow space such as this "Anyway, off to the landlady now! I'll take ya straight too here! Well... more like a left and then right then down stairs a few floors before turning left again to her office but... straight enough yes?" laughed the harpy
