Madeline (link to profile in my signature) is a 10th grader, an envy demon, and a powerful illusionist who loves showing off. She feeds off of people's envy and jealousy towards her, which she sometimes goes out of her way to stoke on purpose. She tries not to be too obvious about it though.
I'm looking for someone to have an antagonistic, and possibly somewhat friendly, relationship with Madeline. But at the same time, I'd want this relationship to awaken a darker side of her personality.
There's a couple ways we could go about this:
1) your character is also an illusionist or has some other cool show-offy power that they could/do use for magic performances; Madeline has a friendly rivalry with them. It might become a bit less friendly for Madeline when this person steals her spotlight and makes it harder for her to feed, since one of the reasons she performs is to attract envy for her skills and powers.
2) Maddie is absolutely full of envy for your character. Maybe they're rich and they have cool powers and a good family. Maybe there's something else about them making her this way. I feel like a pride demon could work great for this, but it doesn't have to be that. Madeline could end up being their friend, but also kinda hate their guts, and she could end up being kind of subtly toxic about it.
3) Maybe Maddie gets on your character's bad side or vice versa for some other reason, and they end up acting really petty to each other (or Maddie is just petty towards them.)
Basically hit me up if you want some toxicity and bad vibes in your character's life. I have a supply and tbh im a little afraid to use it but I'm trying not to be
