Nia sat in the corner of her room trembling. Just a few minutes ago she had experienced another vision and her body and mind were still trying to calm themselves from the experience. However this vision hadn't left Nia scared or confused, as they usually did. This one left her feeling anxious, but not in the usual sense. She had seen an incredible creature, walking around what looked to be half burned library, talking to itself.

Nia had become obsessed with reading everything she could get her hands on. So much so that the school library had begun to lose it's draw. She needed new books, and this vision seemed to provide the answer.

Once she had stopped shaking, she went to lounge on her floor with the computers and sat down. She still wasn't great at using the devices so it took her a bit, but she finally found out where the abandoned library was. It was a bit away from campus but she wasn't worried. Not since getting her bracelet from Makara. If she needed anything she could break the bracelet and the man would appear at her side, ready to help. Of course, it was meant to be used for when she was having a vision but she had assumed it would be useful for other emergencies as well.

It took all the courage she had but Nia left campus and got on a bus that took her to about half a mile from the old library. It was terrifying at first but after a few minutes of fear and panic, the feelings began to wash away and by the time she stepped off the bus she was more determined than ever. She wanted to find this library and it's strange guardian. Somehow she felt maybe the creature could help her, or her it.

She arrived at the building at walked up to the main doors. One was cracked open slightly so she pulled it back and peaked inside. The fear returned and the girl's feet froze, unable to move her into the building. She took a deep breath and then called out.

"He-- hello?!" Her voice was small but carried through the building. The lights were dim in her immediate area so only the light shinning in from outside provided some visibility. It just seemed to be an empty entry way with a big desk and wings leading off to the sides and behind. Everything looked a little charbroiled.

Long and easy breaths left Jaakko's beak as the griffon slept, laying on top of a short bookcase for an afternoon nap. A few books were tucked loosely under his ragged wing, stowed away from the elements for later reading. The small corner of the library he slept in was relatively untouched by the fire that years ago maurauded it's way through the old shelves of knowledge; a few singed books and shelves and blackened carpet were the only signs of damage, although the walls were another story entirely. Glyphs and nonsense ramblings covered the walls, painted in blood by the building's only tenant in bouts of madness that he barely remembered. For the moment, though, all was quiet, save for the red feathered griffon's breathing.

A sudden noise caused his ears to flick up like antennae picking up a distant radio signal. A voice calling out, one that he didn't recognize... Someone was in the library. Almost immediately the gryphon woke up from his nap and hopped down from his perch, greeted by a familiar face. The man was tall and gaunt with a full van dyke, dressed in the red robes of a Catholic cardinal.

"Good afternoon, Your Eminence. It seems we have a visitor..." Jaakko said with a yawn, "Perhaps we should go introduce ourselves..."

"Last time you introduced us, you scared our guest off," the cardinal sneered, "But do as you wish. God only knows what you'll do."

Jaakko merely snorted in reply. It seemed like he was seeing Richilieu more and more, even though he would have prefered the kinder company of Romeo or Juliet. With a sigh, he idly plucked a feather from his wing, idly eyeing it for a moment before tossing it aside. The griffon looked down the aisles of books, towards the front of the building. He first heard the voice down that direction, and since the building was relatively quiet, he figured whoever was over there was still in that general area.

Getting up, he made his way over to the staircase, or the remnants of; the majority of the steps were broken and burned. Not that it mattered: the gryphon simply hopped over the railing and glided down to the ground floor... And slammed right into a bookshelf with a loud THWACK! as old books tumbled into a pile around him on the floor.

For a while there was nothing in response and Nia was about to move into the building when suddenly there was a crash. Not like someone knocked over a vase crash but like someone knocked over a wall kind of crash. In an instant Nia was out the door and headed back down the street. This adventure hd proved more than she was ready for. It was time to return to the safety of her own room.
