Erione cocked his head to the side a little in curiosity as she dodged around with her musician answer a bit but he deliberately didnt pry. His fingers helped measure out where he was supposed to leave holes along the tube of glass. It certainly wouldnt be the finest instrument ever crafted but he could certainly ensure it was made of the finest glass.

After a few moments of crafting he floated the simple flute towards Wen through the air.

"I guess it is a lot of information but mostly it's just something going on in the back of my mind. Like breathing or blinking. The same with receiving prayers too, really. I guess put simply, I was born to do this." He smiled wide again and stood up to pull the now-whistling kettle off the stove.

"Besides, I love it when people like me or like glass. It makes me feel all warm inside. So each little ping is like a little bit of happiness in my head- a gift from someone who appreciates me and what I represent."

Wen smiled again. "I guess." She reached up and plucked the flute out of the air, marvelling silently at how the glass caught the light. She focused quietly for a moment, holding the flute between her fingers. Slowly, it grew warm beneath her touch, the glass absorbing the heat from her body. She turned it over and over, looking at the placement of the holes. Orange light filtered through the flute, making it look like it'd caught on fire.

Simple in execution. She quietened, brought the flute to her lips, settled her fingers on the right holes, and began to play. Now this was her ball game. Music threaded through the air, as if almost tanglibly infusing itself into the walls. Flutes sounded sweet on their own, but the sound coming from Wen's flute sounded even sweeter than should have been possible.

She looked at Erione as she played, raising a brow in jest. Was he getting that warmth now? The song continued.

Erione watched with delight, internally feeling the genuine appreciation for the simple gift flowing from Wen like the nicest hug you could imagine. one of many he was currently feeling but still it was great. And then he had to cover his mouth with his hands as she began playing.

His own personal delight swelled into a sense of awe as her music filled the shrine with the amazingly played notes. The sound even leaving echos and vibrations within the many glasswork pieces throughout the small building. He'd tried his hand at playing the glass flute on many of his slower days, but this blew his attempts away like they were just mediocre whistles. Erione beamed as brightly as he could and poured two cups of tea while he listened. One in a very basic green glass mug he threw together quickly and the other using the insulted purple mug from before. But he sneakily added a small bird sculpture into the very top of the handle on that one. For Wen, should she actually want any of the tea. He wasn't sure.

After that he simply rested back into the plush cushion with a happy smile and enjoyed the music. "That's amazingly beautiful. No wonder you wanted a flute."

Wen stole a glance at Erione's face as she played; she didn't need to look at the finger holes on the flute, but she did so all the same. Her fingers found their positions as naturally as birds sang; effortlessly dancing over the flute as she recalled the rest of the tune. Finally she drew to an end, the last, lingering notes hovering in the air before they faded away. It brought her pleasure to know that he was appreciating the music -- not any sort of magic, really, just a general sense of happiness. Music was one of the few things that brought her genuine joy; to see others liking it made her smile.

Once the song was over, she ducked her head, blushing slightly. Wen passed her hands lightly over the flute, this time feeling it grow warm much faster. She focused; slowly, the glass began to feel... Stronger. Any oil that had collected on it from her touches disappeared. She'd enchanted the flute to never break, and never get dirty -- a fitting treatment for a gift from a god. She reached for the mug with the bird, gently running her fingers over the sculpture. It was so small, and delicate, but the details were impeccable.

Wen's silver-rimmed glasses fogged up from the tea's heat, as she brought it to her lips and took a small, careful sip. "Thank you," she said, "But I'm really only as good as my instruments. You did a lovely job."

The glass of the flute was no longer just of his domain. He could feel the change taking hold of the material just like someone penning a few extra words of creation at the end of a sentence he himself had written. The exact changes eluded him but at least he could still feel that it counted as one of his gifts. And it was certainly quite appreciated.

Erione took a sip from his own mug, unbothered by the heat that his quicker creation didn't contain. Giving Wen the one with layers for insulation had been a planned, if fairly commonplace, thing for him to do. And then let out a bit of a giggle as he noticed her glasses steaming up. "Don't get me wrong, a pretty piece of glass is kinda my whole world. But a glass flute is just a tube with holes until someone fills it with glorious music like you just did."

Absentmindedly he let his own cup float in the air by him rather than look for somewhere to set it down. "There must be some reason why you were wandering enough to find me here though? If you just wanted a place to rest or maybe some company that's fine but... I find most wanderers have at least something weighing on their mind. I'm not super strong but I can at least be a friendly ear and a warm smile."

Oh, Wen thought, as she handled the mug and realised it only felt pleasantly warmed by the hot tea. It was a strangely thoughtful thing to do; she hadn't realised that Erione would give her the cup that was easier to touch. The skin at the sides of her eyes crinkled in a smile half-hidden by the cup. It was made of glass, though, and so it could probably still be seen through the bottom of the mug. She admired how even ambient light was scattered by the glass, making it a little kaleidoscope when she peered through it.

She set the mug she'd used down, unsure if Erione wanted it back after the tea was gone. "I'm the god of music," Wen mused then, the most open with her "species" she'd been since coming to the island. She'd been uncomfortable at the thought of being put into a little category; she wasn't very used to all the other creatures that inhabited the islands. But, she'd quickly come to accept that there were many other gods, and many other ancient beings, besides herself. And she was a younger deity, too. "I should hope it was 'glorious'."

She laughed, and somehow, even that sounded musical as well. Like the tinkling of bells, or wind whistling through chimes.

"I..." Wen paused, suddenly pensive. "I've spent a few years here... and everything still feels so unfamiliar." She wondered if Erione could relate to that. "I guess I just wanted somewhere quiet to reflect."

Erione smiled brightly. He'd know there had to be something powerful about her after hearing the music she played. Being a goddess of music was fitting. Even her laugh sounded melodic. Though he did note that she had seemed to be fairly reserved. Not exactly like the gods and goddesses of music and song he knew from his own pantheon.

Still it was great to have his guest smiling and laughing. At the very least his hospitality had succeeded in that regard.

"It's always nice to meet another god here. And don't worry about competition with me, I support all the arts but i'm no musician," he laughed and then collapsed his own emptied glass mug into a ball of glass to be recycled. "In fact you're welcome to visit or seek me out whenever you want. My doors are almost never locked. I know i've been on the island for a total of a couple years myself, on and off, but there are so many things and people i've never seen. That's part of what makes it amazing to live here."

"I'm not worried about competition." said Wen quickly, shaking her head as she did so. She twiddled her thumbs, unsure of how to broach the subject. "I'm not a very jealous god, really," she said, feeling like she had to justify herself, or at least explain what she meant. "The main reason I was sent here was to introduce more... mortals... to my brethren." For some reason, saying mortals aloud made her feel dirty inside. It made her feel like she was being condescending; as though she should deserve worship simply by virtue of being a god. That wasn't the case, of course, but Wen still felt bad saying it, especially since she'd met quite a few said mortals on the island, and they'd all been rather kind to her.

"Oh! And it's nice to meet another god, too. I knew I wasn't the only one, but..." and Wen folded her arms around herself, cloak wrapping like a blanket of feathers around her, "...but I didn't know anyone else, either." She cast her eyes to the side, surrounded by warmth and comfort, and yet feeling oddly lonely. Soon enough, though, Erione's voice shattered the silence, and his jovial words brightened the surroundings as much as his glass creations did.

"That's a really nice way of looking at things. I guess I just never thought of them like that." Wen smiled at Erione again, pushing her glasses up her nose from where they'd slipped a little ways down. "Really?" She asked then, almost in disbelief. Never locked? "You don't mean to say..." Her voice trailed off, but in her thoughts, the sentence was complete. That I can find you any time? Me, a stranger?

She'd known some really outgoing personalities, but she'd never actually seen someone so open to... well, being open. "I might take you up on that." Wen laughed, and she felt the loneliness melt from her like frost in the rising sun. "What are your favourite things about the island? And the people here?"

Erione was honestly a little puzzled at how this other god seemed so shy and yet had apparently been chosen to bring new worship to her home pantheon. But that made little difference in how he intended to treat her. As a treasured guest and potentially a person in need of comfort or support. Even if she was a god herself.

"You know, since I came here to find new bases of worship myself. Which means I think my favorite part about the people here has to be that they are so very accepting. Of me, of other people, and of each other. There are plenty of problems and struggles but in general you wont be ignored or mistreated." He smiled and stood to slowly carry a couple of sticks over to the stove to fuel the cozy flames.

"Yes, you are more than welcome to visit any time. For any reason. Even if I'm not here I can be. And I think you'll be able to pray directly to me with that flute if you were comfortable doing that. It's like- well, you know how prayers work. Way more efficient than cell phones," he laughed as he joked around and stoked the fire up a little bit more.
