Eloi had been wandering around the school for some time, and eventually found what seemed to be the art room. She walked down the bare hallways with the occasional art project hanging from the wall. Eloi looked at each one, although not very interested. They were nice, but Eloi was a little curious with the building, and creating her own works than someone else's.

She peeked into a room that was filled with easels, and paints. Though no one seemed to be in there. Good. Just how Eloi liked it. No one to harm, and something for her to do.

Entering the room, Eloi found a a palette, and some desired paints, along with a canvas. She put it up on the easel, and stared at it for a moment, thinking of what to paint. Until, she figured painting what was inside her head could be... Relaxing.

A blue stroke, a black one, and a sporatic yellow. They were all a jumbled mess, but ulitmately there was one blob that was alone in the colored mess. A lonely girl in a colored mess indeed. Sometimes she wished she didn't have her powers at alll...

"It's so quiet... " She thought to herself.

Kane had been about to move from his resting position in the back of the room near the door when another mind entered. He sensed from her that she wanted to be alone, and was unsure of what to do. He had almost succeeded in leaving the room when he walked into the door jam with a solid thump.

He spoke quickly. "Don't be startled. I was in here when you entered I just didn't want to disturb you. I'll be leaving now." even through his quick words, his voice was still calm and toneless. He fumbled for the black scarf that he had removed from his eyes, and tied it over their startling blueness. He dipped his head towards where he sensed her mind. "I'm terribly sorry." he added again.

Eloi heard a thump, and nearly jumped out of her skin. She let out a big gasp, and almost dropped her paints.

"Don't be startled. I was in here when you entered I just didn't want to disturb you. I'll be leaving now."

Eloi relaxed slightly, and shook her head. "Too late for that," she thought. She set down her palette and walked over to the boy and looked him over. He was tall and lanky, but he seemed to have a very... mellow stature. She raised an eyebrow at his scarf, and felt a little comforted that she wasn't the only one at the school with one. She wondered if it gave him comfort like hers did.

She noticed he quickly tied his scarf around his eyes though. Why? What did he have to hide behind them? Was he... blind? "What is in your eyes that you have to hide?" She spoke to him through her thoughts, and raised an eyebrow curiously.

He wasn't particularily startled when she spoke to him in his mind, but he did resist the urge to respond in kind. "My eyes startle most people. I keep them hidden because people can't deal with things that are different." he responded, his voice still unchanging.

"I don't need to wear the scarf over my eyes if it makes you uncomfortable though." he added, adjusting the red and white striped seeing stick that hadn't done him much good a few minutes ago. "Or I can leave if you'd still prefer to be alone." he cocked his head to the side in question, rubbing the back of his neck in a relaxed manner.

He allowed a slow, lazy, boyish smile to slide onto his face, mostly because he was feeling particularily rested that day.

This school confused Eloi. She didn't want to trust anyone, or talk to anyone, but she found herself being lured into people. Although she was afraid of them, she couldn't resist conversing with them... Especially if they seemed kind... Like this boy did. Eloi bit her lip, and wasn't sure if she wanted him to stay or not. Though, she was intrigued by his eyes.

"I don't mind," she told him. She felt his resistance, and looked at the floor. "Umm... I'm sorry if you don't want me talking to you." She decided she wanted him to stay, but was unable to find the words to tell him to. She felt lonely. But how was someone supposed to say that? Especially if you're a mute.

"I keep them hidden because people can't deal with things that are different."

Eloi couldn't help but smirk. She wished that she could just cover up her powers. Though they were the only way she knew how to communicate. Or she could just write everything she wanted to say. But then she wouldn't have been able to talk to this blind boy, now would she? Ugh, having powers was so troublesome. "I know what you mean." She thought, flatly, with a bit of bitterness behind it.

"Or I can leave if you'd still prefer to be alone."

Her eyes went big, and she raised an eyebrow. How... Did he know she wanted to be alone? She looked around, confused. She hadn't said anything, obviously... "Umm... How did you know I felt like being alone?" She had so many things she wanted to say to him, but she caught herself. Right, he wasn't too into her speaking to him through his thoughts.

"I don't mind, Umm... I'm sorry if you don't want me talking to you."

Kane nodded, removing the scarf from his eyes to reveal violently blue eyes, that were entirely pupilless. "I don't mind. It's nice." he admitted, the lazy smile widening ever so slightly to deepen his dimples.

"Umm... How did you know I felt like being alone?"

Kane grinned sheepishly. 'I'm telepathic too. I accidentally read your thoughts when you came in the room. If my mind feel's a bit closed, that's why, I have to really focus to keep from accidentally invading people's minds.' he thought back, removing the barrier he'd been using to keep his mind out of hers. He stuck his hands in his pockets. "Sorry." he said out loud, his voice still never altering in tone or calmness.

"I don't mind. It's nice."

Eloi mentally sighed. That was a relief. Some people became kinda freaked out whenever she talked to them with her thoughts. Though she had to admit, it wasn't like she talked to a lot of people on a daily basis anyways.

The boy started to speak into Eloi's mind, and she blushed. He was a telepathic too... She should have known. She nodded idly, even though he wouldn't see it. "Of course." She thought.

Eloi looked up at the boy's blue eyes, and she smiled a bit. "I like your eyes..." She rubbed her shoulder a bit uncomfortably, not used to complimenting people. "They are very pretty."

Kane dipped his head. "Thank-you." he accepted her compliment easily, not because he was cocky, but mostly because he didn't really care about a whole lot. "My name's Kane. What's yours?" he asked, boyish smile still on his face.

He chuckled. It was a soft, peaceful, toneless sound, much like his voice. "I'd like to return a compliment, but since I can't exactly see you, I hope you don't mind an unorthodox one." he grinned boyishly at her general direction. And then added in her mind, 'You have a very comfortable mind.'

Eloi looked at Kane and smiled, returning his introduction. "I'm Eloi." She blushed a little, and wasn't sure why. Maybe it was because of his boyish smile. It was innocent, and to her, trustworthy. It was something she wasn't really used to seeing.

'You have a very comfortable mind.'

Eloi raised an eyebrow, and laughed. She wasn't really sure what that meant. Though... he said it was a compliment, so she bit her lip, and nodded, before remembering that facial reactions weren't his forte`.

"Umm, I'm not quite sure what that means, but thank you."

Kane shrugged. He'd decided to talk back to her in her mind, since it took less effort. 'It's like when you go into somebody's mind planning on talking to them, but there's a lot of dark stuff in there that you have to go through first, and it's sharp, and kind of a turn off to making friends.' he described something that any telepath would understand. 'Your mind doesn't have that. It's nice. Soft, for lack of a better discription.' he concluded the thought, boyish smile still on his face.

'Eloi's a nice name. It's really unique.' he added, rubbing the back of his neck.
