A Nice Swim to Calm My Nerves

It had been about a week since Ain had found himself wandering the island, he made himself scarce when people were around and it was unclear if any of the people really gave him much mind, it was possible that people had noticed him but only that strange guy named Noel really took the time to talk to him outside The Forbidden Forest. Being alone didn't bother him that much, but the fact that it wasn't really his choice in that matter because of his cursed--dark aura did make him want to challenge it on occasion.

Ain arrived at the beach, though he saw other people their having some sort of party he wisely decided against getting any closer, his pressence would only ruin things for the kids. As he walked about he noticed something buried in the sand using his extremely good vision, and may have even taken a peek at some guys and girls in swimsuits far down the beach. Ugh, it was a long time since he seen anything sexual, the skin shown made him shudder a bit as he had forgotten what it even felt like to be with people; to touch them to feel them among other things.

It wasn't lost to him how awkward he had become around people, but he needed to get past it even if it was from a distance. He dug through the sand on the spot he noted and found a bag, the bag had several things inside it including two white towels, a cellphone that was locked, sunscreen but most notably was a red speedo and from the look of things it might even fit him. He mildly laughed at the idea, just what was he thinking, it wasn't like he could just put someone elses swimwear on.

About five minutes later, Ain emerged from a nearby changing room and was only wearing the red speedo he found, his toned body visible for all to see, surprisingly enough it fit him though it was a bit tighter than he figured it would be but this was someone elses so he dismissed it. The swimwear did seem a bit lacking however, this must have been normal for this world is what he figured. Even if they lost their bag on the beach, this counted as stealing, right?

He put his cloak and other stuff in a locker so it wouldn't get in the way, and used one of the white towels from the bag so he had something to sit on and folded the other towel so he could use it to dry off after his eventual swim. This was good, he could relax for once and swim for the first time in years--not counting the pond in The Forbidden Forest.

THIS WAS GOOD.

While he wasnt one for parties, Eli couldn't help but return to the beach every so often. The waves were calming, and since it was the first place he remembered, Eli viewed it as a sort of safe haven.

That's why while the party went on, Eli was nearby resting on a large rock overlooking the ocean. He was in perfect view of the entire area and noticed the man that appeared, also watching looking towards the party. He couldn't have been able to see much, Eli himself could barely see anyone there.

He laughed a bit later when the man changed into the swimwear found at the beach. Wouldn't it be a bit cold to swim, especially wearing such little clothing?

Ain's eyes passed over the beach to make sure no one was getting too close when he noticed that someone was watching him from atop a large rock in the distance, if this boy was like him, he could see him perfectly. The boy had brown hair and teal eyes, and appeared to have laughed at him; was he perhaps mocking him thinking that he could not see him.

He wasn't about to go up to him and confront him though he could get to the rock in a moment if he needed to, but Ain knew that he was too weary of people. The guy looking was NOTHING but a highschool student on the island, right? There was no need to even bother with him, as he started applying waterproof sunscreen to his body, regardless of never getting a sun burn before he always took precautions just in case.

As he did that one of his eyes was on the high school boy the whole time, even though he knew that there was no hostile intent.

While Eli couldn't see the boy that well, even he could tell if someone was looking at him. He was tempted to walk away and pretend he was never there. Instead however, he climbed down from the rock, and began to make his way over to the other person.

Maybe he could start up a conversation of some sort. What would they even talk about?

Ain noticed immediately that the boy was getting closer, there wasn't much to do at this point but wait for him to arrive and see what he wanted. He just wasn't the type to make the first move, not to mention he lacked all his gear at the moment. The only choice was to remain calm, he was still far off though so instead of waiting he walked towards the water.

It was a bit chilly, but he didn't mind it as he kept walking until the water was deep enough to swim and floated there calmly. If the highschool kid wanted to talk, he would have to come in the water for a swim to do it.

Was he walking into the water to avoid him? Eli watched in amazement as the man casually drifted out into the water.

Calling out to grab his attention, Eli cupped his hands around his mouth. "Are you okay, sir?" He might have just been shy, but even if Eli saw nothing wrong, it was still at least a conversation starter.

Moving forward in a strange skip/run fashion, Eli found himself as close as he can get to the man without touching the water. While he wasn't afraid of the water, Eli wasn't sure if he could swim. Having never swum since coming to the island, he didn't know if he had the skill.

Ain glanced back towards the shore as he noticed the boy had not fully given up, he did however refuse to go in the water. Did he come to the beach but not intend to go in the water at all, what exactly was the point, was he just alone for whatever reason? He guessed that he shouldn't be so concerned about a guy being alone for a single day, when he was alone for fifty years--sort of.

If Ain returned to the shore he would be in range of his dark aura that creates fear, so for the time being he just floated in the water, it wasn't like he could just talk to him either.

He then remembered that he was called sir by him, his elf physiology made him appear much younger, but he did probably look more like a college student - even if he was three-hundred and two years old. Bringing up his hand, he lightly waved at him. Was this kid worried about him or something?

Well, he wasnt completely ignoring Eli. A wave was better than nothing.

Crouching in the sand, Eli waited for the Man to come back to shore. It was late at night, so unless he had some sort of marine animal physiology, the man had to come back to shore at some point.

At least he had to? He wasn't sure what exactly the man was doing, he was really just floating there. Scratching at the dirt, Eli stared out at the man.

Ain blinked when the guy took a seat and waited for him to come out of the water, why, he didn't do anything to this kid yet he is so stubborn. His body shivered at the cold water, he justed wanted to swim in peace and - he shivered again - he wasn't just going to go back. He floated for about ten minutes, glancing back to see if the highschooler was still there before finally giving up and crawling out of the water.

He stepped out of the water slowly, a bit red from the cold, and stepped just outside the range of the aura - a look on his face was annoyed and as he stared at Eli. Ain sighed lightly, as he raised his hands to both sides. What exactly did he want anyway?

He waited fpr while, but eventually the other guy moved, and came closer to the shore. He stopped maybe ten or so feet from the shore, though, and nonverbally questioned Eli.

"I wasn't sure," was his answer. "But I just saw someone go into the water at night alone. Had to make sure everything was okay." He didn't mean to make him uncomfortable, he just planned to be there in case something did happen.
