Tick tock, tick tock

The minutes ticked on and on, as the ghostly girl watched the door intensely. Now that she hadn't heard from Klef for weeks, she was quite worried, if mostly because of her grades. And now that the March Virus was over and done with (thank goodness), Aswan had much more time on her hands to help out if need be. Over two weeks had gone by.

Did her grade go down at all? Aswan was half-tempted to glance at the grades section of the note she'd been given, but refrained. That would not be the best course of action, obviously. No matter how logical it may have been.

She glaced down at the slightly crumpled sheet of paper in front of her. The note Administration had sent her, as a tutor. It was like a slap in the face to her. Yes, it had been her responsibility to organize the meetings in the library. Yes, it had been her responsibility to make sure Klef had been studying. But she hadn't been able to reach Klef at all. The Virus had been a pain all month (most times literally). She had no idea where Klef's dorm or house was, and frankly... She couldn't make her student study, not by force. And if she was being honest with herself, the fact that she had been caught off-guard, the fact that she had gotten a warning after years straight of perfect deadline and planning in school, the fact that she didn't know how to contact her student... That was kind of a slap in the face too, one that stung hard.

So she let those minutes run by with her thoughts, constantly watching the door, waiting for Klef to come through.

A note from the administration office? She hadn't gotten one in awhile thanks to the March Virus wiping almost everyone on campus out, herself included. Now a sheet of paper was clenched in her hand, so crisp that she could get easily a get paper cut. Why she got a sheet of paper? She wasn't quite sure, she wasn't sure about almost anything since losing her sight. What she did know was that she was to head to the library, the lady at the front desk told her so. If she were to take a wild guess, it was about her grades, she hadn't touched her homework since February. The March virus took her out for the month, then the organ that is primarily used to study gives out too, gee, it was like the universe wanted her to quit school or something.

With the help of a stick she found in the forest, Klef somehow made it to the library, or at least where she thought the library was. It would be unfortunate if it was somewhere else like the cafeteria, she usually was late to the majority of her classes because she kept on walking into the wrong one first. She pushed open the doors, unsure whether Aswan was waiting or not. Just to be on the safe side, she waited a few minutes before heading over to the library so that the chances that Aswan would be there before her would be better.

Unsure of what else to do, Klef raised her hand and waved, hoping to get Aswan's attention.

Finally, Aswan thought as she spotted her student push through the heavy doors of the library, waving. Presumably so as to get Aswan's attention. And she was carrying... A stick? A large wild-looking stick, possibly from the forest.
First she tried waving Klef over. She stuck her arm up and waved it around. It took about a minute of this until she gauged that she apparently had no reaction from her target. Which, if Aswans was honest, kind of irritated her. Klef should have been able to pick her out in a crowd - the crowd of the library no less - but for some reason she hadn't reacted.
So, she tried quietly calling her over. "Klef? I am over here."

Klef stood there for a while, waving and secretly hoping that she didn't look too weird doing so. She came to the conclusion that either she was too early despite all her effort not to be or there was a strict no talking policy here, the latter would be unfortunate if she wanted to get any help. Finally, she got the reaction she was hoping for; the kind she could hear. Apparently, she was a bit off on her conclusions, but in this case, it was a good thing if she didn't want to be in the ninth grade two years in a row.

And now for the tricky part, walking over. Just to be sure not to bump into a bookshelf, she let her stick drag against the carpeted floor. She had a general idea of where Aswan may be, enough so to head in her general direction as well. " Sorry about that, I've been dozing off to much lately," she fibbed, it seemed like a valid enough excuse, also easier than dropping the 'B-bomb", telling Aswan she went blind that is.

" Anyways, it's nice to see you again," she said, " I kind of got behind on my schoolwork because of the stupid virus." Boy, was that an understatement, she was never good at school to begin with, but with a lack of sight, it was impossible to read a textbook.

More abnormal behavior from Klef, Aswan thought as she analyzed the student's movements. Usually it was Klef finding her (like the last time). How strange - and again, with the stick dragging against the carpet, making a loud sound wherever she went.
Hmm... Maybe she wasn't feeling well.
Aswan was about to ask her when she received the answer from her student. Her eyes widened in understanding, and with a curt nod of her head, she spoke again.
"I can understand that. Please remember that living things require rest to function properly." A little chuckle followed, as Aswan pulled out the chair beside her.
"Ah. Yes. The March Virus. Terrible, annoying, exasperating as it was. It almost prevented me from completing my work on time. Fortunately, dedication served." Even if it had made Roland worried for her.
"Take a seat, and we will review what you last learned, alright?"
