A nervous sleep...

The spongy sticking of bare feet on marble was the only thing Mica could hear, and she was happy to know she was alone.
She turned her head to the large windows that spilled in moonlight, fighting the urge to howl like she always used to with her pack. There wouldn't be an answer, she knew, and it'd be even worse then if she hadn't even tried.
She turned her face away, shivering and hugging herself. She wasn't cold, no, but there was something about the school that made her want to run away and live in the forest. There were too many people, and some of them laughed at her, and even more tried to touch her, grabbing her fear-stiffened hand and shaking it roughly.
She let out a soft whine as she remembered, ears pressing down against her head. She didn't like the clothes, either, an odd t-shirt that only covered the upper part of her torso but still seemed so loose, and the blue denim that clung to her legs at the top, and spread out so much at the bottom she could hardly find her feet.

She pushed open a door at the end, peeking inside and seeing a room full of couches and overstuffed armchairs. She cocked an ear in the air, grinning wildly when she realized no one was inside and dropping her small backpack on the carpeted floor near the door.

She flopped down on one of the larger couches, a frown creasing her soft face. How could people stand it, sitting on such softness? She pushed herself off, grey eyes swerving round the room once more before she took off for a corner near the back of the room. If anyone came in - she shuddered to think of it, but it was a possibility she had to consider -, they would hopefully not notice her, so far out of the way.
She curled up into a ball, fists clenched tightly in fear of discovery and back to the room, short shirt revealing her blue tattoos to anyone who cared to look.

A yawn stretched her face, and before she could stop herself she had fallen asleep for the first time in days.

Gloved fingers ran along the wall as a single teen descended the stairs the the lounge. A black bag was clutched in her other hand, lights but bulky. Silently, Iced pushed open the door to the lounge, and purposly strode in. She moved toward a armchair, the clutching the bag twithing here and there. A sigh escaped her lips as she plopped her butt down on the seat. Percing eyes searched the room for movement, and softly settled on the teen curled into the corner. A smile grew on her face as her eyes softened. She must feel very lucky... Wolves are my favorite of all creatures, even more than man.

She was dreaming, her lips curled into a peaceful smile that looked ridiculously out of place on her somber face. An ear twitched - she could hear the girl even in her sleep, and before long her eyes opened, closed, and opened again, fighting to stay awake.

She turned, throwing her clinched fists in the air in a girlish yawn that curved her hips to one side. The hands came down to her eyes, and she rubbed them, tail swaying rhythmically back and forth. What woke her, anyway?

She noticed the girl for the first time, widening her eyes in surprise and baring her teeth. "Who are you?!" She silently demanded, remembering most humans didn't understand wolf and repeating her question out loud. She knew that the place she'd been sleeping was a sort of lounge for students, but it still surprised her that someone'd actually walked in. She scanned the human's face, grey eyes softening slightly when she saw the serene expression, but unable to keep the hard suspicion out of her voice. "Why were you watching me?"

A smirk streched acrossed her face as the wolven human growled then questioned her. "I am Iced, and I wasn't watching you. I was examining you. I love your ears and tail by the way, they add a gentle quality to your composure." Iced Rose from the overly padded chair and streched out her arms. Carfully she crossed the room towards the other teen and sat on the floor about two feet from her.

"If you can ask me who I am, I can ask the same question. Who are you and where is your pack?" Her expression hardened a little, as Iced tried to read her body language. A quick glance moved to the bag she had left by her chair, but the materials and objective were forgotten.

A quiet, warning growl rumbled her throat, and she backed herself as far into the corner as she could go. She didn't think the girl would harm her, but she wasn't going to take any chances. "They lie." She mumbled, grey eyes skittering nervously away from the girl, as if not looking at her would make her disappear.

It wasn't hard to read. Her face visibly crumpled, and her ears flattened against her head. "Dead." She spat out the word, and from the way her eyes widened it was obvious she hadn't allowed herself to truly believe it until now. "Pack, name. Dead." She was speaking in broken English, and she took a deep breath and turned her face stony. "They named me Mica."

The growls registered as a empty threat, Mica's movement not affecting Iced's position from her.Mica... The word was strained through the languages she knew, and the name filtered through as Latin. "Mica... Small grains, or a mineral similar to quartz...Why? She is nither small nor any similar to a crystal." Iced pondered aloud, wondering if the anthro would give her more insight, but at the same time, knowing she might not know why her pack gave her that name.

A small thought came to mind as her blue eyes travelled acrossed Mica's face. They've been dead for a while, but how long? Iced's hand absently moved to her pony-tailed hair, combing it slightly, as she tried to think of what to say. "I'm sorry." wasn't right because she never knew the wolves personally, but she knew the pack was her family. "Do you miss your family, that pack?" The words slipped from her mouth, and it was chaos in Iced's brain How the heck did I know that a wolf pack treated its members like family? She felt the question was rude, and she wanted to take it back almost as much as leaving for the Academy.

"She can also hear you." Mica reminded the girl, starting to realize that she couldn't really hurt her. "The humans said my hair reminded them of it." She tilted her head to the side, wrinkling her nose slightly. "I've seen Mica, and it doesn't look like my hair."

Mica frowned at the girl, starting to get annoyed. "Apologizes, but do humans really believe that asking someone such personal questions is considered polite?" She questioned, hugging her knees to her chest defensively. "And yes, I miss them. If all you knew was taken away from you without warning, would you not feel the same?" Perhaps she was being harsh, and the girl didn't mean to pry. But she didn't like the way she felt around Iced, as if she was a lesser creature being observed... "Would you enjoy me asking such questions about you?"

Iced frowned, forgetting her long unused manners."No, but you have as much right to ask me such questions or to not answer me at all.You have all the rights I have, because you live in this mansion of a school." She turned her head, her thoughts had skipped over her hatred of this place, and her own voice betrayed her. Her pale orbs traveled over to the window, examining the sky. A stray hint of the morning's sunrise had already travelled up to the bottam sill of the window. Rising, Iced offered her hand to Mica. "From the way I've been treating you, you probally think all of us snobs here are like that. But they're not. They are much worse. We should move from this room before the sun comes all the way up."

A quick glance went from the door to the window then back toward Mica. A glimpse of panic appeared in Iced's eyes. "I know the kitchen staff is already up. Want to join me for breakfast? You can ask any annoying questions you might have then." Her hand stayed extended, waiting for Mica's answer.
