"Thank you for trusting in me, and for wanting me to be happy," Celeste said gently, glad to hear that Shale did trust her judgment despite his own feelings and fears.
Seeing then Shale's tears, Celeste reached across the table and grabbed his hand, "Shh... It's fine," she said trying to comfort him, "You are not going to lose me, or any of us because I start dating, or I go out for coffee or dinner with someone I like," she said.
"You have to look at things positively, not see only the negative. You know that I am not going to push you aside, right? You know that I love you and Ebviony and Azure, yes?" Celeste said firmly but gently.
"So you need to believe that if I date someone like Roldan, nothing bad will happen," she said, "In fact, wouldn't it be nice to be able to do stuff with him that you can't do with me like sparring, playing video games, going to a soccer match, or even just talking about certain things that you may not want to talk to me about?" she asked him reasonably.

Shale chewed his lip and silently listened to his mom; he knew her words were truthful and he wanted to do his best to put them into practice. "I...alright, mom. If I trust anybody, it's you, and..." He heaved a sigh, squeezing her hand back and giving her a strained, but genuine smile. "...If you think that it's the right choice, and what you want, then I'm happy. I promise."
Shale finally let himself breathe a heavy sigh of relief at his mom's reaction, wrapping his arms tightly around her and kissing the top of her head affectionately. In general, he seemed much more at ease after getting all that off his chest, his posture improved a bit and a small smile on his face. "I will, mom. I'll let you know when I'm feeling like this, or...I don't know. Hopefully not worse than this. Okay?"
