He was surprised whe she kissed back, it brought a bright smile to his face. He wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled back, "yea, very lucky."

He grinned and held her close for a bit longer, "thank you, for giving me a chance," he sometimes felt like he was broken, but he was starting to feel whole again. "I didn't come here under the best of circumstances, but now everything looks like it's gonna be all right."

He grinned, "some would call a harpy and a werewolf an odd couple." He kissed her forehead, "but I think that's ok."

"It's no big deal," she said, enjoying the nuzzling. "You were the first one to actually ask me out." Val was blushing a little, but it didn't make her uncomfortable. It helped that they were alone, and no one could see her impression of tomatoes.

Val chuckled a bit hearing about their weird relationship. "Why would that be weird? It doesn't matter, I guess. They can think what they want."

He nodded in agreement and quickly stole another kiss, "we like each other, that's all that matters." Wrapping an arm around her wait they continued their walk, "some might find our age difference strange to, but I don't care. I like you."

He grinned and began pointing out constellations to her, "I've always loved the stars, my mom taught me about the constellations, the stories behind them." He held her close as he looked up at the points of light, "I miss her teaching me things."

Val felt his arm wrap around her waist and decided to do the same, pulling him closer to her. It made her heart skip a beat, but she liked the feeling of being so close to someone. The topic of age was brought up, but that was something that her species had never given thought about much. "But why does that matter?" she asked. "Do... people really care about age that much?"

Valencia, Val's mother, had also taught her about the constellations. She found it funny how people pointed out random dots in the sky and thought, "this is a warrior" or "this is a bear," and they made all these stories about them. "It's just like cloud watching, isn't it? Only, the stars don't change that much... what else did your mom teach you?"

He chuckled, "some people are just weird." Leaning in he kissed her cheek and nuzzled some more.

"Well, she and my dad taught me and my siblings how to hunt," he smiled, "taught me the history of our family." He grinned, "they did a lot for me, always grateful for them." There was sadness in his voice, it hadn't been long sense he'd lost them

He made his smile reappear, "what about your mom?" he asked as he darted in and stole another kiss. "What'd she teach you?"

"What about--Mm!" she should have guessed a kiss was coming. That's what Alex liked to do, and quite honestly, the liked the feeling. The skipping of her heartbeat wasn't as strong as the first time he kissed her, but that was natural, wasn't it? As soon as the blush calmed down, she answered.

"She taught me a lot of things. Sewing, making jewelry, and mostly everything you could learn from school. Oh and singing too!" Her mother knew a lot of things, and she always taught Val what she knew whenever she had time off work. She was a great mother.
