I joined this forum in 2005 at the tender age of ten years old. I named my account after a book I'd just finished reading from the school library. I've rejoined the site a few times under different names since then, but all the accounts fizzled out pretty fast. I wasn't in a good headspace to re-enter the forum RP world.
On my first account, I got heavily involved pretty quickly and didn't really know what I was doing (obviously, being 10 years old, and probably 11 when I was promoted to a Mod), other than being pretty active, and, well, pretty crazy. I didn't really understand a lot of things about RP and writing in general. As you can imagine with a tween bethind the wheel, there was fun times, weird times, dramatic times, and downright embarassing moments that I cringe thinking about. If anyone from those wild days are still around, I'd love to catch up. And sincerely apologize.
Starlight Academy and Manta Carlos Island never really left my memory. It was always kind-of lurking there. Being a part of it in pivotal coming-of-age times gave me an escape from a shitty home life, and friends when I didn't have any. It sparked a love of writing that I'm struggling to reignite today. But, here's hoping I'll find that fire again.
Thank you all for keeping this magical place around. As someone who was here at the very beginning, knowing that it's still got an active community and loving mods/admins is a statement to the magic behind the story.
Here's hoping I still know how to fill out a character template.
