Event Private A Meeting with Destiny

Elections. Azucena had only joined up because Bel had encouraged her to become more active, to believe in herself. And to put herself out there a bit more. And it had kinda been working. Even though, the truth was, Azu enjoyed flying under the radar most of the time - or had - until lately, that was.

Recently, she had found out her real parents might be on the island, and she had friends, maybe even a potential boyfriend too, and ... it distracted her from that thing she was supposed to be doing, but couldn't bring herself to do. Kill. She couldn't do it. It was as if something stopped her, and she just let them go or gave up the chase.

Entering the classroom, Azu noticed that it was almost empty except for three other students chatting in a corner unaware of her arrival. Deciding that this was probably a good thing, she put her posterboard down, markers, and other things to make posters, sort of unsure really want to write on the posters. She didn't even have a platform or a reason why yet.

Azucena had been lost in thought, so much so that she had not sensed the other girl until she was actually a few feet away from her. Glancing up when she heard her ask about the elections, Azucena looked at the girl in surprise.

"Yes, yes, I am," Azu answered hesitantly as she eyed the girl curiously. "I'm running for Treasurer, though I'm not sure if I'll get it," she explained as she gestured down at the poster board before her that was still half blank. She couldn't even think of a slogan that suited her beyond the typical "Vote for..."

"You think..?" Azu mused, glancing at Mari questioningly, not quite convinced though as she stared back down at the poster board. "Not too many people really know who I am yet," she said, sort of struggling with the whole, "Vote for Azucena" bit.

"It's like telling people to vote for Joe, but nobody really knows who Joe is or what Joe even stands for," she explained. "Although, I guess people do need to know my name if they are gonna vote for me," she admitted with a slightly sheepish laugh as she proceeded to choose a red marker and popped a lid off of it so she could start writing, 'Vote ..." in big letters.

"Right?" Azucena said with a tiny sigh, stopping just as she was to write the A in her name when Mari agreed that she didn't know her name either. "That is exactly what I meant," she continued with a frown focused on her campaign ideas - or lack of them."Why would people vote for somebody they don't even know..."

"Maybe I need like something mysterious, something that catches people's eye," she mused, "Like a symbol, or a catchword... or, or.. like a cool marketing persona!" she explained sort of excited by the idea. "I could be like ... the "other candidate"," she said, kinda liking the idea.

"What do you think?" she asked Mari curiously.
