Hazel sighed, landing on her bed. Yeah, she should have known Haru was teasing. At least she didn't hurt her feelings though. So, that was a positive thing. Though, Haru did mention the manner of friends.

"Uh, not really. Honestly, I'm not really sure who I would consider a friend. I mean, Shay and the others are nice people, but I don't really know a whole lot about them. Or talk to them a lot. Nor do I talk to a lot of my classmates. So, I don't have a whole lot of options. Though learning under Mal would let me say I was trained under a goddess, that'd be cool to say to others. Other then you and storm, I don't really have any other ideas."

Was it sad that Hazel had little friends? She never thought so, but saying it out loud, it made her a bit worse. Why didn't she go and talk with others more? Small signs of these thoughts appeared on Hazel's face as she talked. Though, she did try to hide these signs of her distraught thoughts.

" Well, I'm sure we can figure it out. This island seems to be full of people who want to fight someone....maybe will just throw you in the ring for a few hours and see how it turns out, trial by fire." Haru laughed at the thought of Hazel in a fighting arena. The girl would probably be killed by some of the people who frequent the establishment.

" Well we may not have a teacher yet I can at least make you do some exercise to prepare your body. I'll draw up a regimen for you to follow every day. After about day fifty you should be comfortable being in pain." While it may have sounded like a joke this was not followed up with a laugh or smile. Haru was fully serious about getting Hazel to exercise more. Whether the girl would do it she highly doubted, but maybe guilt would help her a bit.

" When I was your age my father had me carrying barrels of water all through the hills of our farm. I'm sure a teenage girl can handle a few pushups and weights." Haru's smile gained that motherly charm she was never aware of as she adjusted the tea cups on the tray preparing to return them to the kitchen.

Hazel held her breath a bit as she listened to Haru talk. It didn't seem like she was joking at the exercise regimen. Though the arena joke wasn't that funny to her either. Yeah, trail by fire. Up until she runs into someone with fire, then it'll be cremation time.

"Well, we both come from vastly different cultures, so that is something to note. And uh, I don't think that I'll need a regimen that strict. I'd like to learn some close quarters self defense, not try to take on Mal on a one on one fight. My main self defense is my magic, after all. No need to try and change it all up."

"Of course Madam Arlnest I don't mean to make you like me that would be highly unorthodox and by this late, in your life, it is far too late. I just don't want you to always rely on your abilities. If you are ever in a situation like the mansion again I would like to know you could handle yourself. Your magic is a boon to your natural ability, not a crutch."

With that statement, Haru left the room leaving the door cracked as she proceeded into the all once more. Each time she had passed today she felt the uncontrollable urge to gaze outside. Her mind would drift into a stupor and she would calculate and dream all sorts of things piecing parts of information together or just simply resting her mind.

Haru had the strange addiction to thinking. Every time she had a thought it would trail off onto random tangents. The little breaks she took were blissful and disturbing for her, but over her life she had more accustom to the fear and now finds a comfort in that also.

Before she had noticed Haru was already in the kitchen finishing up with the dishes she and Hazel had made. The expression time flies had never been more accurate. A small yawn escaped Haru's mouth as she marched her way back towards Hazel's room thinking about what she would have for dinner.

Hazel watched Haru leave, letting out a sigh. She wasn't using it as a crutch. Yeah, she needed to learn how to dodge and defend herself without magic, but her magic was her first form of offense slash defense. It's like telling a swordsman that his sword is a crutch.

But, after a minute of pouting, Hazel was back on the ground. Laying under the skirt of a dress, Hazel was working on the hem of it. Right next to the lovely green dress was a suit of silk, ready to be given to it's attended owner.

Haru came back into the room to see Hazel back at her work with full concentration again. She admired the girls work ethic and seeing some of the clothes she made always made Haru shocked at how gifted her young master was. To avoid breaking Hazels work Haru quietly came back into the room and went about checking things to make sure everything was in order. Her job was mostly security so as long as Hazel wasn't under gunfire or duress she had some time to herself

After noticing all was right in the room Haru sat on the bed and just silently watched Hazel work. She would do this for as long as Hazel would allow or until it was time for her to leave. Of course, hr attention was broken by small thoughts about dinner or other minuscule things but as the orange light outside set upon the room, the scenery was silently still beside the movement of Hazel's hands.

Hazel noticed Haru coming back, mainly because of her feet. Haru walked around a bit, then settled down on the bed. It was nice that Haru left Hazel work, she really wanted to get this dress done. Plus, she had planning to do. Hazel was going back to New York for a bit and was planning what she was gonna do when and where.

But for now, she was enjoying her time here, with Haru and whenever her cousins got home. Plus dinner time was approaching fast, and Hazel was wanting to make some steak for the night.
