Oh NO! thought Nick, And now someone who reads my mind, "Funny you should ask that," replied Nick cooly, "because I am very afraid of the competion." he forced a smile, which looked more like someone ready to puke.

Mimosa raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Are you in the competition that's going on? Or was that justn a joke at my expense?" She asked good-naturedly. "I'm so excited about it, I can hardly wait!!"

Judas chuckled.
"Hmmm, quite an interesting pair. Confident am I? Well, I suppose you can read one's outer emotions. It's really not too difficult to cloak oneself from an empath if you try hard enough...although what I'm saying in itself is quite confident. Hah."

Mimosa shook her head at Judas. "You'd be surprised how much a practised empath can find out. My mom and I practised on each other all the time - not on purpose of course. She'd know exactly what I was feeling, and could usually make an educated guess what it was about. Of course, she's been at it longer than I have.

"It's actuially kind of annoying. Imagine being surrounded by ticked off people, and having to feel that. Or feeling everyone's every tiny feeling at once - pain in the butt at times."

Judas chuckled.
"Sounds quite interesting, I suppose, sounds like you have quite a bit of skill. Yet, I think of your powers as a gift, not a curse like mine. You are the perfect evolution of a human being, able to feel others emotions so effortlessly! Imagine if the entire world were full of empaths! It would truly be a more peaceful place, I like to think. Or not...seems nice though."
Judas slowly let an apple float into his hand, his eyes slowly lighting up with something indiscernable.

Mimosa lowered her head, afraid she may have hit a sore point. SHe lifted it before she spoke. "I like to think there are no curses. Every gift can be used in a productive way. And I suppose it would be peaceful for us all to be empaths. But it might also be incredibly boring - I mean, knowing practically everything, all the time."

Judas smiled, his eyes tired.
"Yes...I suppose any gift or curse can be used productively...that's what I always repeated to myself...back then. It can get quite tiring though, you know..."
