"Uh...I just know," he'd say with a shrug. "Don't ask, it's something to know with my enhanced senses."

"Izzy it is," he'd pet the rat, smiling a tiny a bit as the small animal enjoyed the affection. "Izzy the rat," he'd say as he looked over the cages, his eyes landing on the one Amber pointed out. "Yeah that one looks perfect, and it'd fit on the side table in my dorm," picking it up he'd look it over.

The vampire looked over at her, blushing a tiny bit when she thanked him. "Well...yeah...it seemed like something fun we can do," he'd say, clearing his throat. "Maybe after this we can get some food and set Izzy up in his new home."

He'd step over to the counter with his rat and the cage, paying for it, the clerk giving him a small carrying cage that would keep the rat warm until they got to the dorms. "You want to get anything new for your turtle while we're here?" he'd ask her.

Amber just gave Nathan a raised eyebrow but... she thought better than to question it. At least Izzy both her name and her new home all picked out!

"Sure thing, I can help out with making sure Izzy is comfortable in their new home with you once we are done here." as the two of them made it up to the counter, Amber was busy looking at some cute dog tags set up nearby when Nathan suggested she should get something for waddles. "Oh, good idea Nathan! With winter coming up I think Waddles could use something to keep him warm."

Amber then looked around the store as Nathan finished up his purchase until she found just what she was looking for: accessories for turtles. As she was there, she picked up a new fake log for Waddles to hide in as well as couple of fun sweaters knitted just for turtles to wear.

"Okay Nathan, what do you think. The Flash, hamburger, or the blue shell from Mario Kart?" asked Amber as she holds up the three sweaters in question. The first a bold red and yellow with the iconic insignia of one of DC's iconic heroes. The second and amusing design that looks just like a hamburger knitted from yarn, bun and all. The last, a vibrant blue shell with soft white spikes and tiny white wings that would have come off as intimidating where it not all made of plush cotton.

He'd pay for Izzy and the items, reaching into the carrying cage he'd gently pet the rat, smiling a bit. "So, uh, you doing anything for the holidays?" he'd ask, looking at her. "Big family party thing for Christmas or something like that?" he remembered her saying she had a pretty big family.

The vampire would look at the turtle sweaters. "The blue turtle shell of course," he'd say with a snort. "That's from Mario right?" he'd ask, poking at the sweater before going back to petting his new pet.

Nathan would step away from the counter to give Amber room to pay for her things. "Anyways...uh...holiday stuff, you wanna hang out some then?"

"Oh, we are not really a big on Christmas at my household. As Malara would put, there is too much Judeo-Christian bullshit. Still we will do go with the spirit of the holidays. And while I do have a big family I am not all that close with most of them. It will probably be just me, my mom, my sister, my aunt, Jackal and a few others." mentioned Amber.

As Nathan picked out a sweater, Amber just him a smirk and nodded that he was indeed correct.

"Well it is pretty iconic. And yeah its from Mario Kart. Alright blue shell it is." she said as she goes to pay for her items. At Nathan's suggestion of hanging out for the holidays and give it some thought before nodding her head. "Yeah we can probably hang out a bit for the holidays. We can try to work around it."

He'd smile a bit, nodding and letting her check out. "Yeah, that sounds good," he liked spending time with her, so he'd hang out with her anytime he could. "Well uh, let's get back to the school so we can get Izzy settled in," he was excited to have a pet, a cute rat friend.

The vampire would open the door, letting Amber exit first before following behind her. "So your turtle doesn't mind the sweaters?" he'd ask curiously. "I wonder if Izzy would mind wearing some," lifting the carrying cage he'd look in at the friendly little animal.

Nathan would look over at her. "Maybe for Christmas we can introduce our pets to each other," he'd say jokingly, doubting rats and turtles got along.

"Oh yeah, maybe we can do that. Waddles could always use some more friends." spoke up Amber in agreement, once again not realizing that her friend was once again joking "We could do like a play date... with some supervision to see if they get along at least. Waddles is normally a very calm reptile but when when he doesn't like some he likes to tear it too shreds."

That was definitely her one major concern if Waddles and Izzy were put together in the same space. Last thing she would ever want is for Waddles to bite off poor Izzy's head off. Amber really didn't want to think about that anymore.

"But... anyway... I am sure we can find some cute outfits for Izzy... prehaps I should get that as present for you."

The vampire would walk back to the dorms with his friend, new pet on hand. It'd been a good day, a good addition to the grumpy vampire's life.
