Ellyn sat on the edge of the fountain, giving a quick peer around before she settled on staring into the water, counting the pennies people had thrown in to make wishes. She had to remind herself to get out more, to breathe and unwind, but things hadn't quite been relaxing since she'd gotten here, nor had they been exciting in that 'let's go on an adventure' sort of way.
She fished around in her pocket until she had found a coin - a nickel - and flipped it into the water, closing her eyes and thinking up a wish. It reminded her of the times she went to the mall with her parents as a young child. Every time she and her siblings would do this and wish for something inanely childish. The memory was enough to make Ellyn smile, but opening her eyes brought her right back to Manta Carlos.
It was strange being out of school, next year going to be his last year! Senior! Who knew! He felt a bubble of excitement but same time he would be bored....and lonely. He doesn't have friends due to his cold and bitter exterior that refuse to let anyone get to close. Of course his rather good features lead to all different kind of female to flock to him and flirt with him. He ignores it like they are nothing and doesn't acknowledge the flirting.
He was gay though he doesn't openly show it or tell it to others since he feels that anyone different would be severely bullied. He would stand up for himself but he was a bully, so being bullied back only makes him competitive to be on top. "Hmph." His eyes narrowed as he glares at nothing really.
He was in a black crow form, his wings flapped in the air as he lands onto the statue that sits in the middle of the fountain. His talons digging into the metal to keep a firm grip. His talons doesn't do much damage to the statue.
His beady eyes looked around before spotting a female sitting by the fountain. His head tilted as he stares. Who was she? He thought to himself. He opens his beak and cawed at her before becoming silence as his black beady eyes stare at the new face he hasn't seen.

There were times that Ellyn was still getting used to this island, despite her vast amount of time here (there was just so much!) but then in moments like these; she was all too familiar with everything. It had lost so much of its luster. How depressing that she was used to the magic enough not to be doe-eyed about it anymore?
She didn't expect him to shift forms to speak with her, so instead she went on again. Now, if this were a real bird, she'd be more surprised -- not to mention flustered.
"I imagine the rule is for more destructive powers, though. Shapeshifters aren't usually destructive, and they don't have the same tendency to lose control as their lycanthropy cousins.
Lief was the master of acting, after all, he enjoys tricking and pranking. His black beady eyes stared at the female, talking about how magic not allowed outside of school. It was summer...school practically over till late summer near September. He seem to stare and not respond to the female.
Maybe get her to believe that he was just a bird and she was talking to a random bird. His thoughts turned into his usual mischief behavior. His feathered ruffled up before flattened down against his body.
He cawed at her again before staring at her with his black beady eyes.

She dipped her hand in the water and lightly splashed it at the bird. "Well, shoo then. If you're just going to be noisy and annoying I don't want you here."
Lief flew from the statue and lands onto the ledge of the fountain and looks at her with his head tilted to the side. He grew bored as he just stares at the female with his black beady eyes. He was trying to get her on edge and get under her skin.
He was master of getting under people's skin by just annoying them with his presence typically. His feathers ruffled up before he cawed at her again. Crows are intelligent birds. One of the intelligent bird out there. Crows capable of having problem solving skills and memory, that's the fact. Also can learn things to adapt to surrounding.
