"Okay, that's good then... I think." she stated thoughtfully as her mind raced. At least, Celeste and Shale would be okay for now. Although, Zora wondered if she shouldn't be thinking of somewhere safer for them to be.

"Have you had any visits from the police or people looking for you? Or asking about the attack?" she asked with concern as she remembered her visit from Nick Miller. She had her doubts about him being a real detective. She had forgotten to ask to see ID and had just assumed, but after the conversation, she had had with the man, she had her concerns about that.

Ain had known that his presence was a danger to Celeste, but for now it was fine - at least until they knew he was here that is. It was just his personal feelings that kept him from running off, it wasn't logical, but in a weird way he didn't want to leave Celeste if he could help it - which was strange considering he had only known her for a few days.

It was a conflict of what he needed to do versus what he wanted to do.

He shook his head NO to the police part, but he didn't really have conversation with people aside from maybe Ria; then again it wasn't really conversation at all. He wondered where Zoraida was going with this, was she going to force him to leave Celeste's house, he wouldn't doubt that it would solve the problem. It wasn't like he could argue.

Pulling his hand through his blond hair, he looked down on Zoraida calmly and waited for the next question if there was one...

"Celeste! You can stop eavesdropping now..." Zora then shouted from the hall.

"I wasn't doing anything of the sort," Celeste replied as she peaked around the corner into the hall... not wanting to admit that she had been listening to their conversation.

"Hell, you weren't..." Zora muttered under her breath. She knew her aunt way too well to know she wasn't listening to them talk.

"Now, same questions... Has there been anyone snooping around? Anyone weird? Unnerving? Cops?" Zoraida asked pointedly. She wanted to make doubly sure everybody was safe.

Glancing at Ain and then at her niece, who looked frazzled and furious at the same time, Celeste nodded, "Yes... An old woman and man, a lizard type guy, came by the other day, she said she was looking for a friend who had been hurt.... It was the day I found Ain hurt on my deck out back," she told her niece.

"Okay, that was what? 5, 6 days ago? Maybe more?" Zora said.

"Maybe, a week..." Celeste nodded, "But they've not been back since." she rushed to add.

Taking another deep breath, Zora looked at her aunt and then Ain. She really wasn't sure what to do. They couldn't stay with her, they'd be a worse target there. And a hotel was too public. "

Looking at Ain again, Zoraida finally said, "Stay here, do not go out wandering in the woods for a few more days at least. They are still looking for you. Okay? Just keep a low profile."

When Zoraida mentioned that Celeste was listening in, he spun on his heels and looked in the direction of the kitchen. He had not realized that she was eavesdropping, was she a person to do that, apparently that was the case. Was the intention to not have Celeste hear anything so she wouldn't worry, well, too late now.

The relationship between the two seemed more like sisters than Niece and Aunt, from the look of their exchanges., and wondered why that was. It then dawned on him, he knew nothing about Celeste or Zoraida, and he wasn't able to ask questions to clarify.

He blinked at the mention of the old woman and the lizardman, it was true that was almost a week ago now, but did they really just give up. The old woman showed interest in coming in and well, he wasn't sure, the implication was that she didn't really care about Ain and wanted to just eat Celeste. 'I won't allow that...' he thought while glancing at Celeste, as his hand balled into a fist.

Ain was then a bit shocked when Zoraida suggested he stay put - he nodded his head, and he had to agree but he just wouldn't say that he had went outside twice since he had been at Celeste's house, once was today. Straightening out his body, he looked to Zoraida, he was a bit tense from the conversation but decided to add some levity - he ran like a blur into the kitchen much faster than he had gone before just because he knew he could now and he returned with two plates with each a piece of cake only a moment later.

He handed a plate to both Broen and Zoraida, no more difficult conversations, if there was going to be bad times going forward he was just going to face it. A smile crept onto his face, it was a reassuring smile to tell Zoraida that everything was going to be okay if she caught the meaning. It was true he also wanted to ask what happened to the magic tool Cellphone, but he would let that matter drop for now.

Stepping next to Celeste, he glanced down at her curiously and wondered what she actually thought about all this. If she wanted she could have him leave, they didn't have to do what Zoraida wanted. If she had listened it would be obvious that Ain was probably going to lead trouble to the door, but if he left he was sure to be located by the Black Wings... eventually.

Zora accepted the cake from Ain, surprised at the gesture. Looking towards Broen, she saw he was reticent to accept the cake, ignoring the elf's gesture, sighing, she glared at her bodyguard. He could be such an asshole sometimes.

"What is this?" Zoraida asked Celeste as she looked at the elf slightly confused by the gesture.

"Birthday cake, chocolate," Celeste said with a grin, "I made it. It's his birthday today."

"Really? I did not know that," Zora remarked lightly as she glanced down at the homemade cake, deciding then and there that everything about this day was slightly surreal. Looking up from her plate, Zora nodded at Ain. "Happy birthday."

Ain was glad that he finally got to hear people wish him a happy birthday, and his serious demeanor faded away for a moment. There was a lot to be thankful for, but really it was just beyond expectations that he could be together with people like this after fifty years of isolation. He wanted to thank Celeste for everything she had done for him but couldn't do so with words.

He thought about what he wanted to do, but his logical self tended to halt him from taking actions he thought were not right for the situation.

For a second he gave a kind nod to Zoraida, and then a mild shrug to to Broen who he really didn't know.

Deciding not to think about it anymore, he kneeled in towards Celeste and gazed at her softly. He then wrapped both of arms around her petite form, resting his hands on her back as he squeezed her into his chest with a hug. It wasn't clear if this was too much, but he did not care. 'Thank you Celeste,' he thought as he did so, a warm smile appearing upon his lips.
