A good place to get started

While wandering around insearch of... something, Kotah happened upon the library while looking around the first floor. Rather happy, he thought to himself that he should get some of the books he needed right now so he could get started right away. He sauntered in with his left hand pocketed. His pants made a soft swishing sound.

After a few minutes, he came across some books about curses. Some of the titles involved voodoo, ancient tongues, and one was on etiquette.... His eyes then glanced across a rather large textbook, called Blood Curses 101. Plucking it off the shelf, he turned to check out, then glanced back at the wall.

He decided to pick up a book on human anatomy while he was in there. "Who knows, he thought, "I might get around to it."

Sitting across the way, brushing up on her Herb knowledge, Enelya noticed a young man sit down, with a rather large book. "Blood Curses 101" Interesting. Enelya picked up her book, grabbed up Archie who was sitting on a small table, and moved over to where the young man was sitting.

"Hello there, are you new? I am, my name is Enelya." she gave him a small smile and waved, holding her herb book against her hip.

Kotah found his way to a small table to leave through his books. Standing the anatomy book upright and leaning against his chair, he set the blood curses down on the table with a thump. As he was sitting down, he placed a hand on the top cover to peel it open when some random individual spoke up.

He looked up while halfway standing. Most of his hair fell over his shoulders with the sudden stop, one of his eyes hidden by his long, black hair. His violet gaze shifted to meet the woman's face. With his left arm supporting his weight in this position, he raised his right hand with a very small wave and let it drop.

After a very small, yet noticable pause, he resumed taking his seat, not taking his eyes off her. "A pleasure to meet you." He nodded slightly out of respect, closing and reopening his eyes. "My first day."

She smiled, looking right back at him, her daisy crown sitting pleasantly on her light blue hair drapping over her shoulders.

"Your name?" she asked, figuring that she didnt ask. Waiting for an answer, she noticed his book and decided to make something of it.

"Blood Curses 101," she read, "is that your power? It's very intriguing!"

Kotah got a better look at Enelya. Catching sight of the piercings and tatooes made him almost smile, but she'd have to be looking hard to notice the very slight crook in the corner of his mouth.

"Kotah," he said, glancing down at his book when she mentioned it. "Something of the sort, yes." Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed she was also carrying a book. "And your's is...?

She smiled at him, and explained:
"I can talk to plants and animals, and make plants grow..and, going along with that, I can make medicines with herb... fun stuff like that." she looked away, blushing. Her powers sometimes just didnt match up to superior powers. She showed him her book. "If you ever need some concoction mixed up, just let me know!"

((sorry for the short post, I'm leaving soon.))

The shine in Kotah's eyes faded for an instant as he thought to himself, Enelya briefly disapearing from sight. Just maybe....

He nodded, returning his attention to her. "Yeah, definately. I'll be sure to find you sometime. Maybe soon, who knows." He smiled oddly, his thin lips making it look dangerous. "Keep up your studies for me."

If she can come up with a way to make the body quickly clot blood... she'll be perfect, he thought to himself before saying, "You've got a useful power. Don't let it go to waste."

He looked to his book, opening up the cover and scanning the table of contents.

As his eyes dulled, for the briefest moment, she studied him. What was this mysterious boy thinking? she thought to herself.

He smiled oddly, his thin lips making it look dangerous. "Keep up your studies for me."

"Well, I'll be sure and do that.." she replied curiously. Whoever this Kotah was, he sure did have a wild streak in him, something, she just couldn't quite put her finger on. Archie whispered in her ear. "This one's strange, I'm not sure I like him."
Enelya looked at him and scowled, "You don't know him Archie. You're always so quick to put someone down!" she snapped, not wanting Kotah to hear her.

Kotah glanced up at her without raising his head when he thought he heard her say something. He raised an eyebrow curiously.

Putting a finger down on a chapter that caught his attention, he slid his finger across the page to the page number. He flipped through the book, chewing on a thumbnail out of habbit. He stopped to place his hand on a page that didn't want to lay down.

"So what brought you to the Academy? I mean... aside from wanting to learn more about your powers." He looked up at her, his violet eyes scanning her face.

"So what brought you to the Academy? I mean... aside from wanting to learn more about your powers."

Enelya looked at him, his violet eyes, were so beautiful, she was almost breathless. Her eyes were purple too, but they were a gentle, more softer and lighter purple, but his, were radiant and sharp.

"You have beautiful eyes..." she said, then remembering he asked her a question. "Err... I really didn't have a choice. My village, I think, was... well...destroyed." The subject was tender, and she had a hard time getting the words out.

Enelya didn't remember much of her past, only small flashes of memories, harsh memories, something you push back to the back of your head, trying to forget. She wasn't sure if she had amnesia, or just her brain refused to remember. Her strong points never were explaining things.

"I saw flashes of red, and fire...then, nothing." Her eyes welded up. "When I woke up, I was high in a tree, I think it saved me..." Enelya looked away. Trying not to show her tears. She barely knew anything about this boy, and yet she was telling him her life story, but then again, he asked. Archie held her neck, whispering in her ear. "Your okay, your okay."

Enelya looked back, "I'm sorry, it's just... different for me. What about you, what brings you to this school that seems a bit of a 'last resort' for most of us."
