Hella trembled a bit, still reading the beautiful, sharp script on the vellum scroll in her hands. It detailed out the terms of the favor that the Queene was calling in. Very crisp, explicit language. No room for interpretation.

Hella's clothes were torn, the nicest outfit she owned barely ribbons on her body. The Elves of Ebonyridge couldn't pick her apart like they wanted to. She belonged to the Queene. But that didn't mean she.wpuldnt let them sate some of their appetites. There was free blood still on her cheeks and arms.

She really should have cleaned up. Gotten on fresh clothes. Called Virgil or Jamie or Lyssa or even Audric to tell them she wasn't dead. But Hella didn't want to do anything. So she curled up on the floor in the kitchenette she shared with Lyssa and fell asleep in her tears.

Having gotten her satisfaction for the day with Jun, Lyssa had retired to a long, hot shower. She was lost so deeply in thought about her life that she hadn't heard Hella return from her evening visit to some kind of royal figure.

The water was starting to cool.

Lyssa sighed and pulled herself from her paralyzing thought process to step out of the shower. She dried herself off and wrapped herself up in a towel, heading out of the bathroom to change into some pajamas.

She spotted someone lying on the floor in the kitchenette and paused.

"Whoa, hey, Hella," she took in her roommate's form and raised an eyebrow. Moving over to Hella, she reached out and shook her on the shoulder. "You alive? You look rough, girl."

Lyssa's voice didn't wake Hella up so much as her touch, and it was not a gentle thing. Hella startled awake with a yelp, flinching away from the physical contact. She glanced around, kind of horrified before she realized where she was and who was in front of her.

"Lyssa..." she said, eyes welling up with tears. She tried to cover herself up as best she could in her ruined clothes, for the moment physically unable to move from her spot. "I'm sorry. We're you out? I didn't... mean to make a mess on the floor."

There were small droplets of blood on the floor from her wounds. None of them were bad, more like the result of being man handled by people with claws rather than actually being cut.

Lyssa sighed and fetched a washcloth from the bathroom, wetting it under the sink and kneeling by Hella's side, offering the cloth to her so she could wipe her face...and her wounds. "It's okay," she soothed, softening.

"I was in the shower," she got up and went to her dresser, switching her towel for a pair of sweatpants and a sports bra. "What happened to you? I take it things...didn't go too well," her poor roommate looked pretty shaken, whatever had happened hadn't turned out the way that she'd planned, obviously.

She rummaged through Hella's drawers and found her a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, taking the clothes over to her. "Here, let's get you cleaned up and into bed. Do you want me to call your boyfriend?"

Hella loved the gentle touch and the coolness of the damp cloth. It felt amazing against her skin, hot from the wounds she had suffered. "N-no it... went about exactly as I expected."

She shakily stood up and stripped down in the kitchenette. She was too hurt, mind too clouded to worry about what Lyssa may or may not see. She never let go of the vellum sheet as she dressed herself, the clothes fitting somewhat strangely on her magically altered body.

"I would like that, yes. I want him to know I'm... okay." Leaning on Lyssa a bit, she went and lay down on her bed. Once there she stared at the ceiling for a long while, just trying to collect her thoughts.

"I think I have to kill someone..."

Lyssa helped Hella to her bed before snagging the girl's phone to call her boyfriend and let him know that she made it back in one piece, but before she did so, Hella said something rather...strange.

Kill someone?

Lyssa paused and stared at Hella, her mouth agape. "Excuse me? I think I just hallucinated. What did you just say?"

That couldn't be right. She couldn't have said she had to kill someone.

"I made a mistake, Lyssa. I made a deal with the Queene of Ebonyridge. She made me pretty... but in return she owns me."

She gestured to the vellum note in her hand, offering it to Lyssa to read. The ink was days dried and the bottom was marked with something like a wax seal, but clearly made of once molten silver. The language was both strange and familiar at once, and it read very much the way Hella explained. The language was crisp and concise, demanding that some 'pet' get revenge for her 'beloved master.' It mentioned her having until the new moon to do this thing, reminding her that failure would result in severe consequences.

Hella couldn't cry. She had cried enough in the time she had spent in Ebonyridge. How long had it been? Ten days? Eleven? Her voice choked a bit, "H-how long was I gone? What day is it?"
