"So, how was your and Iesha's Christmas?" Celeste asked as she slowly and curiously wandered around Roldan's living room - which was much bigger than she had ever imagined - as she waited for him to come back from hanging up their winter coats and things after their "flight" to his house - which had actually been quite nice, comfortably warm, and oddly romantic, especially with the everfalling snow that hadn't let up since the beginning of the month.

Moving across the room, Celeste then spotted a decorated Christmas tree by one of the windows, and smiled. She always found that Christmas trees often made any home just that much more homier at this time of year.

Wandering over to admire the tree, wearing a short, red, long-sleeved dress, Celeste noticed that the floors were heated. Something that surprised her since she didn't know too many people on the island that did. And it felt amazing under her stocking feet, she mused happily as she slid her feet over the hardwood.

As she neared the tree, Celeste saw an ornament part way up that immediately caught her attention. It looked like an old-fashioned handmade ornament of a dragon, though she couldn't be sure entirely sure. It looked old, but a lot of ornaments were now made to look "authentic".

Roldan put away the coats, leaving the snow on them to melt and evaporate in the laundry room rather than get all over the floor elsewhere. He also stopped by Iesha's room to make sure she was sleeping soundly. The cold had not been kind to her this month, and the snow less so. Luckily she had little to worry about in the house proper.

Rolling up the sleeves of his grey sweater, he entered back into the living room from the back of the house, smiling as he looked over at Celeste admiring his Christmas tree. "Christmas went well. I was a bit wary about the big family get-together, but overall it was nice spending the holiday with her."

Moving over towards her, he tapped the ornament and gave her a sideways smile. "Made this back in high school. Powers class training. Learning how to fluctuate the heat I give off into specific ranges. It's why I'm such a good space heater today."

"Anyway, you look amazing. I'm glad you could come over, what with the weather and everything turning so sour this month. It's been a pain for Iesha. She's coldblooded, you see. Ah, anyway. Drinks? Any preference? I have wines, both red and white, dry and sweet. Liquor in a few varieties. I could even manage a couple of mixed drinks I'm sure if you're so inclined."

"Thank you," Celeste replied with a smile, unconsciously tucking a strand of hair behind her ear when Roldan complimented her. "You also look amazing, that grey really suits you," she said as she turned to face him.

"Actually, maybe a mixed drink would be nice," Celeste suggested. She was in the mood for something a little different tonight. She normally had wine or sweet liquors so the offer of something out of the ordinary sounded really good.

"I really hope Iesha is okay. A lot of people are being affected by this crazy weather," Celeste said as she followed Roldan, "I was helping out, volunteering a few days ago to take supplies to people in need, and it's amazing how much snow there is and how badly some people have been affected." she said with a tiny shake of her head.

"Oh yeah, I've been helping where I can as well. Basically just clearing snow, delivering goods to people. Stuff like that." Roldan moved to the kitchen, checking both his cabinets and refrigerator to see what he had available. He didn't want anything too strong. They weren't trying to get totally drunk after all.

He continued to talk while he mixed the drinks, raising his voice as little as possible. He didn't want to wake Iesha. "So how are things with your kids? Snow been keeping them in? I figure Azure might not. The werewolves I know have been doing pretty well overall."

He brought the drinks out in a pair of low-ball glasses. They were almost like mildly alcoholic hot cocoa, with a stick of cinnamon in each to stir. He hadn't used the microwave, instead heating the drink in the vessel he'd mixed it in. "Here. Gotta stay warm on such a cold night."

"Wow, you must be amazingly busy then at work," Celeste said as she accepted the warm hot chocolate looking drink from Roldan and swirled it a bit with the cinnamon stick before she tasted it. Letting him lead the way out of the kitchen to the living room.

"You'd be very surprised," Celeste said, keeping her voice down, having taken her cue from Roldan, "but the cold hasn't really affected Azure or Shale. They are both amazingly fine with it. I'm more the one who's not. I am forever running after both of them to wear a warm jacket, gloves or a hat," she admitted with a grin.

"Ebviony isn't as good with the cold though, she's a bit like Iesha in that way, delicate," Celeste admitted quietly as she finally tried a sip of the mixed drink, and raised an eyebrow appreciatively. It was delicious.

"This is so nice," she said, "what did you put in here?" she asked Roldan curiously, not exactly sure if she was tasting a brandy or something else.

"It's bourbon. Not a lot, just enough for a kick," Roldan replied with a smile before taking a sip of his own drink. He gestured over to the massive couch and headed that way to take a seat. "Join me?"

Once he was settled and had set his glass down, he relaxed a bit into the cushions and let out a contented sigh. "I have been working so much lately. It's exhausting, honestly. Possibly worse than the monsters thing we had a while back. At least there the incidents were isolated. It was all over, sure. But a chimera in a restaurant is a lot smaller of an issue than nearly three feet of snow everywhere."

If Celeste followed him to the couch, he slipped his arm around her shoulders when the two were close and just held her for a bit. It was nice, getting to relax and take things slow. And he was determined now to do that and not rush into something like he had before.

Celeste followed Roldan back into the living room, and sat down, after he did, on the couch beside him. Then she curled her feet under her and moved a bit closer when he put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her close.

"I can imagine how tiring it can be," she agreed as she took a sip of her drink, "The cold weather makes everyone just want to stay in or curl up under a warm blanket with a good movie or a book," she said with a happy sigh at the idea, remembering then, she really hadn't been able to do either in quite a while.

"In fact, my father's assistant and his whole family have gone back home to Ilada until the snow stops. This crazy weather has really hit the oricenta badly," Celeste mused thoughtfully as she unconsciously laid her head comfortably on Roldan's shoulder and relaxed while looking at the decorated tree.

"I wish it would stop now though," she confessed, "too many people are being hurt or affected by it," she said quietly, shivering a bit as she remembered the old man's demon granddaughter that they had helped. Not wanting to consider what would have happened if James and her hadn't arrived that day with food.
