A Distraught Kitten

Jamie walked along the stairways up to the third floor hallways, the boy was in his cat form. He was quite the cute kitty, he looked around his little paws hitting the floor as he walked. His coat shimmered in the low lights of the area, he was quite the adorable kitty. Even a cat hater had to admit the cat was very cute and handsome looking. It's yellow eyes were very golden like and seemed to be the first thing noticed upon looking at him. They seemed so serious yet beautiful and playful. The cat seemed to bound along the floor like he owned it , but he looked so cute, your first impluse would be wanting to tackle him and squeeze him because of the cuteness.

The cat walked down the lengthy hallway noticing a small windowsill about three feet off the ground. He jumped onto it and looked out the window at the snow falling, he made a low growl. He was upset at the snow falling yet another time when he wanted the birds to come out so he could terrorize them. He sat distraught on the windowsill, he let out a low meow and jumped off the windowsill onto the floor. Jamie sighed, the hallway was empty from what he seen. Or was it?

She didn't like walking through walls. Or rather falling through walls, because she tried to avoid them. She made no dent, nor noise upon the ground, because it didn't hurt her to fall, but instead, she stood, untangling her hair from ribbons, etc. She felt the need to brush herself off, because it felt like cobwebs whenever she went through a wall. It was almost as though she was nearly tangible. Suddenly she realized that she'd tripped, and stared at the wall. "Now how did I trip?" she asked herself, shaking her head, long hair appearing to brush the ground, though it didn't actually.

She moved her hands to her hip, adjusting the long ribbon that kept the thigh high slit of her light blue dress under control, and suddenly became aware that she was being watched. She spun around to see a cat. She watched it quietly, not saying anything. She wondered, for a moment, if it could see her, but decided that it could. She desperately wanted to pet the cat, but knew she couldn't.

"Now how did I trip?"

The cat looked at her, it's golden eyes looking at her long hair and ribbons. "You are pretty..." He said to her in awe of her ribbons and hair, he wasn't one to hold his tongue. The cat was a after all a cat/human so it didn't often have the ability to hang around humans acting as one. He looked at the girl, "Are you okay? You seem to fall a lot..." He said to her, he didn't know why he said it as if he seen her before. But he wasn't good with words so it didn't matter much to him.

He bounded over to her, "Can I touch your hair? It looks purty..." He said with a everso adorable look on his face, he often used his looks to achieve special liberties from girls. Like being able to play with their hair in cat form. That was the only thing he ever wanted from a girl, he enjoyed the sheer fun of playing with the shiny hair. "It's Shiny." He adored shininess, and hair was not only stringy, but it was shiny too!

Arwen laughed. "I wasn't expecting you to be able to talk," she said, a little bit of surprise in her voice.

Then she nodded at his next question, "I'm fine. Falling doesn't hurt me." She smiled still, as she watched the cat approach her, pretty sure that he was actually a shape shifter.

As his next question, her face turned sad again. "I'd let you if I could...You can even try.. But I don't think it'll work.." she sighed quietly, and pulled her hair over her shoulder, crouching down so that he could have a better reach for all of her hair. The sadness in her eyes, as well as the wisdom that 1000 years of living had put there. She couldn't be touched, so far as she knew. Nobody had ever succeeded in touching her. Though, truly, she didn't let many try, lest she be disapointed.

"I wasn't expecting you to be able to talk,"

The cat chuckled, "Not many do, that's why it's so fun to do it." It said it's golden eyes glistening mischeviously at the girl. She looked very pretty, he wondered why she was wrapped in ribbon. "You like ribbon?"

"I'm fine. Falling doesn't hurt me."

The cat looked at her, "It doesn't hurt me either... I always right myself." He said with a smirk, "So I guess we're alike in that sense." He said cheerfully to the girl.

"I'd let you if I could...You can even try.. But I don't think it'll work.."

The cat walked over to the girl it's paw lifted above her hair and it stroked it lightly. "I can feel it, I don't see why your so sad... It's very pretty too..." The cat played with it lightly a look of pure glee overtook the cat. It played with the shiny long hair.

Arwen smiled softly. "I love ribbon." she didn't add that playing with it was what kept her sane in the long hours and even years that neither she saw, nor talked to, anyone.

She couldn't keep the disbelief from her face as she felt the cat touch her hair. "You're the first one to be able to touch me..." she said quietly, as though to explain it. She smiled again though, a full, eye sparkling smile. She glanced around her, noting that she was still casting no shadow, not did she make any foot prints, but still the cat played with her hair.
"Thank-you for the compliment." she said quietly, and added with a remark that took years knowledge, "you're not just a cat, are you?" she queried, in a slightly amused voice. She shifted so that she was more comfortable, and she continued to hold her hair so that he could play with it.

"I love ribbon."

"Really?!!! I do too!!!" The young cat said to the girl a smile on his face. "Can you keep a secret? I think your nice..." The cat said beaming, it had no embarrassment about it's words. It was part cat after all and those things didn't really effect a cat or at least him.

"You're the first one to be able to touch me..."

"Wee!!! I'm so glad! Does that mean I get a date?" He didn't ask this rudely, he asked it in a rather adorable voice. He seemed so innocent and adorable, which he truly was. But his other side had a bit of issues with being serious and not acting like a cat. This girl seemed very sweet, he seemed to feel this way with a lot of girls. Except cat haters, they always seemed to be mean even if they thought he was cute.

"Thank-you for the compliment. you're not just a cat, are you?"

He smiled, "I'm part human, part cat, it's a odd situation. Maybe I'll tell you the story sometime, but it's awfully long and it takes a lot of cat naps to get through." He said with a light yawn, he always seemed to get tired after thinking about working. He continued to play with her hair, "It's so purty..."

"Wee! I'm so glad! Does that mean I get a date?"

Arwen laughed. "Well you can come up here and spend all the time in the world with me, but I don't go out much." She said, shaking her head, causing her hair to slip out of her hand and back onto the floor. She wanted to pet this cat, but was almost afraid of jinxing the fact that he could touch her. So instead, she picked her hair up off the ground, still leaving no mark in the heavy dust.

She also didn't mention that she didn't eat. Thank-fully, she was never hungry, but it had been so long since she'd eaten anything that she'd forgotten what food tasted like. The cat batted at her hair again.

"Well, when you feel like you've got enough time, I'd love to hear it."

"Well you can come up here and spend all the time in the world with me, but I don't go out much."

"YAY!!!" He smiled lightly playing with her hair gently, he suddenly stopped playing and walked to the front of her looking up at her. "You haven't tried to pet me once..." He said with a little pout on his adorable kitten looking face. His golden eyes looked at her, giving her a 'please pet me' look.

The cat pawed lightly at the edge of her skirt, "You don't have to be afraid, I'm a good cat." He said with a light smile, he was a cutie he also knew how to use his cuteness in his favor. He rubbed against her legs and let out a soft meow.

"Well, when you feel like you've got enough time, I'd love to hear it."

"Maybe sometime soon, but I don't tell everyone my life's story. Though you seem like a nice enough person to tell, but it takes so long..." He said with a exhausted meow. The cat curled up at the girl's feet closing it's little eyes.

And then, because she'd let off of her resistance of gravity, she fell through the floor. She let out a little "whoop." of surprise, and then she disapeared completely from the third floor. She floated back up to the third floor, and sighed. She didn't know what it was, but she was back to being intangible again. She 'sat' then, putting her head in her hands with exhaustion. "I can almost guarantee that my life story would be far longer than yours.." she said, her voice tired. It had been a nice break, but it made her realize just how tired she was.

She wasn't actually sitting, and instead, there was about an inch below her before there was ground. If she wanted to, she could probably fly, if she put her mind to it, but she didn't want to try. She wanted to at least pretend that the laws of the universe still applied to her.
