Personally, Wesley hated it when people walked the Forbidden Forest. So many did. There were terrible creatures here, him included. He wished the world would let him starve already, stop the madness, this curse. Claire wouldn't appreciate him thinking such things, she might even slap him for it, but Wess couldn't help himself.

Things were oddly getting better, Wess' memory might not have been returning, but his lucidity was. That made things awful in an entirely new way. It let him know what he was, know what he was doing and when he needed to hunt.

People mentioned it was strange for a Wendigo to have so much mental compacity and Wess wasn't sure whether he was meant to be happy or pissed off that he could keep some strand of humanity. He'd fought so long for it that he wasn't even sure why anymore. Sure, it had gotten him a girlfriend, and maybe a handful of 'friends' -- or what could be friends for a guy like him -- but it was so hard.

Enough self-loathing had for one day; Wesley was on the hunt. For once, it wasn't even for people or food, necessarily. No, this hunt was more precious than that. It was for Claire. A present. Nothing shiny or fancy (Wess didn't so much like shiny, human things), but enough to show her he cared.

Aedan sat against a tree, his legs dangling over the branch. His ionic knife moved quickly yet accurately carving down the piece of wood. He wasn't sure where he got his love for it, but he was surprisingly good at it. The carving was a wolf and was nearly finished. His inspirations for said carving, we're below, napping in the sun, he'd seen the pack a few times and they didn't seem to mind him, they'd given him a few curious looks but they left him alone. With a few more knife strokes the statue was finished, he carefully placed it in his bag with a satisfied smile.

His nose twitched as a new scent popped up, it was unique. He's never smelt anything like it. He considered leaving, not out of fear but because he'd rather the school not find out he was in the Forbidden Forest. He chuckled as his curiosity won out, he pulled his Knight Shade suit out of his bag and pulled it on, it was a simple looking suit, mostly gray and black, with the mask designed to look similar to that of some European Knight helmets. He hadn't brought his sword, so he grabbed his crossbow he had hanging from a branch. He didn't really hunt, but he wasnt dumb enough to come here unarmed.

Taking a deep sniff to lock onto the scent, he bolted onto action. Using his trained agility and arm mounted grappling gun he quickly moved from tree to reel following the scent. He was a scientist, so despite his antisocial habits he was naturally curious.

He stopped on a branch as the scent became stronger, through the thick grouping of trees he could see some thing moving toward him. Adean quickly moved upward into a thicker layer of branches, and waited for whatever was coming to appear.

Wess leaped through the underbrush, right under Aedan, and paused. He looked upward. Wesley was always on guard and as such, knew when something was watching him. It was that tingly feeling at one's back that let them know something just wasn't right.

When the Wendigo's eyes caught Aedan's, he crouched down. It could have easily seemed like he was baring his teeth because his jaw was typically clenched and his teeth had a way of showing through very thin lips.

Someone who crouched in the trees was only doing one of three things. One, waiting in ambush, two, getting a vantage of the land, or three, hiding from something.

"What're you doing?" Wess' voice was high and scratchy, not as much as it had once been. He'd been talking more than he had in years. To be fair, he'd been doing a lot of things more than he'd been doing them a year ago.

He hopped out from below Aedan, not wanting to be in such a position of weakness.

Aedan remained calm as the large red being burst through the trees and demanded to know what he was doing. "Good evening....I was on a evening walk actually." It was the truth, he just came to see the friendly wolf pack.

He lowered himself onto another branch and hung his crossbow from a branch to show him he meant no harm, "I apologize if I stumbled into your territory sir. If your uncomfortable I could leave." He quickly pulled his violin case from his bag, "or I could play you a tune." He smiled and twirled the violin case a bit.

"I'm quite good at the violin if I do say so myself."

Wesley had to blink at this strange man and take everything in. His stomach did a few flips. Aedan may have come to realize that Wess was covered in old blood. It wasn't his.

The Wendigo canted his head. "Violin? What're you even doing this far out? People don't -- shouldn't come to the Forbidden Forest." His voice was sharper than he'd intended. Wess wasn't used to being caught off guard in his own territory and he wasn't sure if he had the control to fight off his hunger. He hadn't eaten so long ago.

"I came to watch a pack of wolves not far from here," he reached into his bag and pulled out the wolf statue he'd made and showed it to him. "I come here pretty often so they don't seem to mind me."

"As for the violin, well I carry it wherever I go, the music calms my mind, helps me focus," most people probably would have run scared from the being, but Aedan feared letter anymore. "Not everyone cares for classical music, but it's all I listen to and all I play."

Wesley just couldn't wrap his mind around it all. He reached up and scrubbed at his face, wondering if this was all some strange dream. Wolves? Normal wolves? Maybe a part of Attel's pack, who didn't like Wess much. No animals liked Wesley much, though.

Attel's pack was the only group of wolves Wess knew to hang around the Forbidden Forest, and that was only when Attel or Claire was there themselves. Interesting. But, the Wendigo couldn't think on that right now. He had other things on his mind.

"Well, nice to meet you then. I'm Wesley. Call me Wess, or Wendy; it doesn't matter. Call me the Wendigo, if you want. Anyway, I don't really got the time to sit around and listen to music; I'm lookin' for a gift."

"Well Wess, it's good to meet you," he shoved his violin back into his bag and pulled out the wolf statue, he formed another ionic knife and started making carving some last details into it.

"As for the wolves," he shrugged, "I don't know what pack they were, I think they leave me alone because of Thane." He blew on the statue to clean out the carved areas, "do you know Thane? Big gray and blue wolf, breathes ice. He lives here."

He twirled the now finished statue thoughtfully, " a gift you say..hmm." He scratched the back of his head, "anything in particular the lucky receiver would like?"

"Can he talk?" Wess asked of Thane, then shook his head. It was a silly question because Wess hadn't met another wolf in the forest beside Attel who could speak. "Sorry, I don't talk to the animals around, so I wouldn't know if I met him or not. Most of 'em stay away from me, too."

Wess didn't usually eat animals, but he'd done it enough that he came off as a predator. Nothing was safe around him, and that was a sad fact of being a Wendigo -- as far as Wesley knew.

"Yeah, a gift. For my girlfriend. And nah, I don't really know what she'd like or what there even is. I'm at a complete loss."

"Hmm....not so much talk," he took sip of water from his canteen. "He creates a mental bond with a chosen person," he shrugged and smiled, "for some reason he chose me." He honestly was sure why Thane chose him, the Asgardian wolf wouldn't give a straight answer. "Thane tended to keep to himself before I met him."

Aedan stood on the branch and leaned against the trunk of the tree, thinking on how he could help his new friend, "well Wess, what does she like?" Aedan hadn't had much experience in dating, but maybe he could help Wess, "do you know her favorite color? Maybe a favorite flower or animal?"
