Conrad chuckled warmly at her embarrassment, the atmosphere light despite the stillness in the air. He surveyed the room with his peripheral vision, spying a few adults dotted here and there, with the occasional student. Thankfully none of them were looking their way. He'd avoided being a distraction. Good.

The blush on her pale cheeks was sweet - endearing. He didn't need to be attracted to people to know that she was pretty-- no, conventionally attractive, rather. Everyone held some sort of beauty in one way or another. Even people with acne or who were differently abled had nice smiles, strong personalities, quick wits. It was something he'd realised over the years, especially after having witnessed so much of humanity on his assignments. But his mind was going off on a tangent yet again - he really ought to get his head out of the clouds.

He smiled back at her, running a hand through his hair bashfully like the young graduate persona would have done. "Yes, I'd actually quite like that. I suppose I'll have to get reading some more French literature - to fuel our conversation." He smiled and waited for her to choose a book, then brought her over to the counter.

"Do you have your library card with you?"

"Then I'll do the same, I have few other books I should dust off. It wouldn't be much of a conversation about French literature if we couldn't talk about it."
Cosette said with a chuckle, her blush now more or less gone, thankfully. She turned and quickly scanned the shelves for the book she was here to get. It didn't take long for Cosette to spot it and she grabbed Les Miserables from where it sat on the shelf. And on the way she also took Kiffe Kiffe Demain and No et Moi when she saw a glimpse of them.

As they walked back to the desk Cosette made sure to this time try and remember the route. She had been a bit distracted by the conversation on the way there. Cosette set the books on the counter, and blinked few times when Conrad asked for a library card.
"Oh dear, I do not have one. This is my first time visiting. Um, would it be possible for me to purchase one now and still borrow the books? I really got an urge to read now."
Cosette gave another shy but also hopeful smile, and she pulled out her wallet (pink leather with a white little poofy ball decoration) in order to pay for the card.

"It would. Let's get you on the system right away..." he said, beginning the registering process and putting down all the necessary information before accepting payment. Finally the process was complete, and he handed her a library card before waving her off, watching her go before picking up the next book of the Tales on the Path series.

He hoped that they might meet again.
