A Date With A Dragon

Faye and Theron were sitting side by side, just inches away from each other; Faye's face still turned away, recovering from her embarrassment. But as soon as Theron touched her hand and spoke, she whipped her head in his direction and noticed he moved in closer towards her. She stared into his beautiful green eyes (while noticing his pupils were dilated, and wondered if hers' were as well) as she listened to what he was saying. Tears formed in her eyes ready to fall, but she held them back. Whatever Theron was saying, it made Faye feel more emotional and sorry for him. Going through a recent breakup must have been a heavyweight he had been carrying that entire time. And secondly, Theron had amnesia. The scars on his back didn't look that new when Faye saw them. Maybe it was possible that he couldn't even remember how they got there.

Faye wanted to hug him and kiss him right then and there; she wanted to shout, "Theron! No matter what happens I will be here for you and never ever judge you. I will love you for you, I promise! Let me take care of you!" She sniffed quietly and tried to smile with all her might...but she couldn't. She wanted to say, "let's go on that cruise and escape together! I want you to forget about everything that has happened to you." She wanted to say those words so badly, but had no strength to do so. She was so choked up from her previous statement, but wanted to show him that it was ok.

Their eyes were locked, and no one around them could interfere. Without realizing, Faye leaned in more closer to Theron, as he leaned in closer as well. He did want to go on the cruise with her. He took her embarrassing answer seriously, and meant what he said. He wanted them to be a couple too, and that was all Faye could ever ask for. At that moment, a tear escaped Faye's eye and rolled down her red cheek. "Okay." Breathing out a shaky breath, Faye found the strength she needed, and smiled ever so slightly.

And with that, Theron leaned in, and kissed her...

Faye's eyes opened up with shock as she held Theron's hand. The space between them was now sealed with a kiss, making it the first time Faye had ever kissed someone. All her tense muscles relaxed and Faye felt relieved. Another lowly tear made it's way down to her chin, as she closed her eyes and kissed him back. The kiss wasn't an awkward little peck, but it wasn't a sloppy makeout session either. It felt as if Faye's world shifted into a bunch of bright colors. It made her heart beat faster and her lips more softer. It illuminated the atmosphere, as the ocean crashed on the beach sand.

It was a simple sign of love that made Faye's stomach flutter and face grow red. But she didn't mind that much anymore. Because from that day, Faye and Theron were now an official couple, and that made Faye really happy.
