formal_by_sayutb_de2xxio-pre.pngHow had she found herself in this position? Fresh off a meeting alongside her boss, Mathos Sandoval, she had just finished have lunch with Broen. Now she was standing outside the art gallery to start the second part of what could only be described as a date.

Lunch had gone well. Plenty of laughing and jolly stories told between the two, and more than enough critiquing of the food from one of them. Levina honestly enjoyed spending time with Broen. He made her feel appreciated, and wanted for more than just what she could do or offer, and the chance to wander around with him almost made her giddy.

There was only one issue that kept nagging in the back of her head. This was the first time, besides the Grey Raven, that they had seen each other in public. The problem was that others could also see them in public, and the two people she worried about what they may think, had contacts everywhere.

Levina couldn't and didn't want to think about that at the moment. She wanted to enjoy her time out with the, admittedly, handsome blonde that had invited her out.

"You think Erione will end up showing up?"

She shot a playful smile over to Broen as she tucked a bit of her blue hair behind an ear, emphasizing the shaved portion of her head. A small part of her wished she could have changed, but she barely made it back to her apartment to get ready before Broen arrived, so she was still in her work attire. Though, her style still showed off her curves and figure in all the right places.

Whereas Levina had gone basically straight from work to their meet-up, Broen had had ample time to prepare. He was showered, shaved, and had even manicured his nails and lightly greased his hair so that he would look as good as he could. He wanted Levina to be fine with being seen with him in public, and he still wasn't entirely sure that she was. There was a nervous energy around her even as they had finished up lunch. Was she just excited to be out with him? Or was it that she was afraid someone might see them and get the wrong idea?

Was it even the wrong idea? They'd stayed the night at each others' apartments. They'd had sex and kissed and laughed and cried together. Maybe he was just touch-starved and emotionally vulnerable, but it sure felt like there was something between them.

He popped a piece of gum behind his teeth as they stood outside the gallery, giving her a shrug. "Who knows. It'd be nice to see him for sure, but maybe he can see us and wants to let us have our privacy." Broen took a quick glance around, subtly taking stock of everyone in the area. Old superhero habits still flaring up.

"Well, as much privacy as we can get at a public art gallery."

Levina had taken notice at how preened Broen was when he first got to her apartment. In fact, she had busted out laughing when she realized he had slicked his hair. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate the effort, but it was more it wasn't needed. He was one of the few people she liked just how he was.
"I'm sure his little glass senses are tingling. But I'm enjoying it being us."
A small smile came to her face as she reached out and grabbed his hand. A gesture Levina was sure was not lost on him. It was intentional and meaningful. She proceeded to look around almost as he did and chuckled a little at his comment.
"Public or not, I'm enjoying myself. Come on."
Stepping off quickly after she spoke, Levina was still very much in a take charge mindset from her meeting, though she was starting to relax. Having an early day like this was rare, so she was trying to enjoy it, even with nagging fears in the back of her mind.

All the little nagging concerns that Broen had had faded when Levina took his hand. She was at least comfortable enough for that, which made him smile just a bit as he allowed himself to be led into the gallery.

"Look at that one. Is it... some kind of duck, maybe? Or a swan? I don't know birds. That was Angelo's thing," he said as he pointed out one of the first pieces, which caught the light with its greens and blues in a way that made the pedestal underneath it was gently rippling water.

"Talented little prick," he added with a chuckle as he pulled Levina closer and put his arm around her hip. If they were here together and if she was alright with this looking like a date, then he could sure as hell make it look like a date.

"A swan or a duck? You can't tell the difference between a swan and a duck? Come on hero. A swan has the long neck. Clearly it's a swan."

After laughing and playfully chiding him a bit, she pointed to the sculpture and followed down the longer neck it had. When he pulled her in closer, her first thought was to keep the space, but quickly realized it and allowed him to pull her close.
"Oh yea. His glass senses are definitely tingling. That is beautiful."
When the arm went around her hip, her cheeks flushed a bit as her hand laid ontop of his. While it was true they had slept together, this was the first time in as long as Levina could remember that someone had shown her a level of affection, such as this, in public.
"You are smooth you know that?"

"Dad hated waterfowl, so he never took me to the park to feed the ducks. I'm sorry that I had such a deprived childhood," Broen said teasingly, clearly joking as they moved on to the next display. It was a pair of people dancing, the woman dipping the man as opposed to the more traditional other way around. They were violet and orange, and where the glass met it blended and swirled together like the two of them were trying to fuse together.

"Smooth? I don't know what you're talking about, Livewire."

His hand still on her waist, Broen slipped behind Levina and rested his chin on her shoulder. "You ever been dancing? Like ballroom dancing, I mean. It was a year of dance lessons for me. I'm a little rusty but I bet I could still dazzle you with my moves."

"Oh and my dad loved taking his little girl to see the swans at the lake? Get real."
Electric blue eyes looked up at the glass piece of the couple dancing. The ways the colors merged and blended made Levina merely look at it for a moment. Feeling Broen slip behind her and place his chin on her shoulder, she nuzzled her cheek into his and closed her eyes.
"You don't know what your getting into Hero."
The line, while on the surface referred to her own skill in ballroom dancing, held a deeper meaning. One that she was worried about him learning about.
"I have years of experience going to elegant parties. And let's just say I never have to worry about being on the sideline."

"I'm sure you haven't had to worry about that, no. Dad always used to take me to the fancy benefit galas and shit like that: he stopped when I knocked out the tooth of the son of the mayor at the time." Broen laughed softly and tightened the hug he had around Levina. "Kid was a little shit and needed to be put in his place. That was the second time he got me with a cigar."

It hurt to talk about, the abuse from his father, but he also felt it was necessary. He couldn't exactly say he'd moved past it if he was afraid to talk about it, could he? Still, this was a public place so he kept his voice down and gently tugged Levina along to the next exhibit.

This one was more abstract, or at least it seemed that way at first. A twisting knot of glass in a shape that didn't look like anything at first. But there were lights that turned on and off in sequence, and when each one of them turned on the light that showed through the glass was a silhouette of some different animal or thing.

"Wow... glass boy has got some serious talent. I think this is the second prettiest thing in the room." There was a definite hint in his words as he ran his fingers up her arm, looking at her briefly with a knowing smile that he hoped wasn't too cocky.

Levina listened intently as Broen talked about his home life. Normally, with anyone else, she would have just dismissed it. Especially considering her own past. But this was different with him. She ran her hands down his arms that he had wrapped around her.
"I'm... sorry you went through that. You deserve so much better."
Once again, Levina allowed herself to be pulled to the next exhibit. Her eyes followed what seemed to be a maze of glass, having to real form or structure and almost pouted. Then when the lights kicked on and restarted their sequence, Levina let out a quiet excited squeal.
Turning to face Broen after his comment, she caught that smug grin that she was growing fonder of on him.
"Well played...."
Sliding up onto her tiptoes, she placed a careful, gentle kiss on his lips. Dropping back flatfooted, she smiled innocently and bit her bottom lip, before turning back to the piece of art as it cycled through again.
"How do you think he comes up with the ideas? Especially like this one."

The kiss wasn't unexpected, but how nice it felt kind of was. Broen let Levina lower herself back down from her toes, but he leaned forward to meet her when she did and kissed her again - not aggressively but with a bit more oomph than her own kiss had been. He smiled at her as he stood back up and glanced at the sculpture. "I dunno. Maybe he's just got a way of looking at glass abstractly. I'm kinda like that with powers. There's a lot of wiggle room between what a strictly does and what you can accomplish with it."

But now he was thoroughly distracted from the exhibit, his eyes tracing lines along her face as he watched her expression, the curve of her jaw. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't think of how to put it into words. So it stayed like the sculpture, a weird formless blob in his mind that he hoped he could shine some light on to make it make sense.

"I, uh. Think there's more exhibits. If you're not bored of being here."
