"I-I'm glad," Liliana said, pleased, not because Right Paw had had a moment of sadness, but that her gesture, which had been an instinctive mostly, one of wanting to comfort them, had been correct," and I understand, I honestly do..." she told Right Paw. She had seen so many souls move on, many coming from a moment of pain and grief, that she almost knew the feeling without ever having experienced it.

Moving in closer when Right Paw pulled her closer, Liliana actually felt herself relax comfortably into her, and not tense up, which might have been her normal response with someone else who she barely knew.

"I'd love to go up to the space station with you both for the day, maybe we can watch a movie up there instead?" she suggested eagerly. It had been years since she had been up to the space station, and then, it had only been a short trip up with some friends who wanted to check out one of the stores up on the station. "It seems like such an amazing place to be. I have only visited once before, and we didn't really see much," she told Right Paw earnestly, also wondering what they had in mind, and what it would be like to spend time with them.

Right Paw was so happy holding Lily in their arms as they danced around the room. It felt, for lack of a better term, magical. They normally had a decent capacity for describing things better but at the moment they could not find more appropriate words for it.

Right Paw softly smiled at Lily, excited even more by the eagerness for their plans that she expressed. "Then that is what we shall do. We can show you some of the places we enjoyed while living up there and we can view a movie together. There is quite a lot to do and see on the station." At the very least they could show her some of the alien foods and fascinating technologies present on the station. Just walking through some of the marketplace districts would probably be enjoyable for her, they were guessing. Perhaps a visit to the entertainment hub at the top of the station too.

"We can do whatever catches your-," Right Paw was cut off. Her mask had started slipping a little ways down her face as the ribbons used to tie it on had apparently worked themselves loose while they were dancing. Quickly she let go of Lily's right hand and reached up to catch the mask before it fell all the way off. She was still holding Lily with her right arm around her for the moment though. With the way the wolf masks fit over their faces it wasn't going to be easy to tie the ribbons while also holding the mask in place. "Lily, could you help us re-secure this mask?" She asked even as Left Paw had slowed to a stop so they could come help too if it was needed.

Dancing comfortably and happily with Right Paw, not really aware anymore of much more than them, Liliana listened rapt-like to her talk about the station, realising that in a way, she probably had missed out on quite a bit by not visiting the station.

"Here, let me help you with that, Right Paw," Liliana offered quickly as soon as Right Paw let her hand drop and hurried to help the young woman when she reached up to grab the wolf mask before it started to slide down her face.

Placing a hand reassuringly on her shoulder, Liliana then stepped behind her. There, she gently took both hands and used them to smooth and center Right Paw's long hair down her neck and back, not wanting the ribbon to catch in it when she retied the mask for her. Tying the ribbon, Liliana stopped for a moment, not sure if she was making the knot too tight. "Is that okay? Or is it too tight?" she asked, now standing very close behind Right Paw, being careful not to let go of the ribbon or let the mask slip.

Left Paw returned to casually dancing with Two Stripes as it became clear that Lily had the mask situation handled. It had been an instinctual reaction to send one body to assist the other but with Lily there that had been completely unnecessary. Something they probably would have to get used to.

Right Paw thanked Lily and held the front of the mask in place as the young woman moved around behind her to tie it. There was the familiar spark of unease as a person moved up behind their body but it passed just as quickly because they knew it was Lily. If anyone they didn't trust had done something like that they would have pulled away to assume a fighting stance.

But instead they felt Lily's hand on their shoulder and then gently running across their hair as she smoothed it along their neck. Was it weird to admit they enjoyed even that simple, almost insignificant contact? They weren't entirely sure, but they did. Lily was being so careful and kind about it. "That's perfect Lily, just like that," Right Paw said as they felt the mask pull against their face. Enough to hopefully keep it secure for the rest of the night. Or at least for a while. They might not want to keep the masks on forever.

They could feel Lily standing there so close behind them, especially since a significant portion of Right Paw's back was exposed by the dress she was wearing. It occurred to them that the whole thing with the masks was silly. Why should they be so concerned about keeping the mask on at that point? They were fine with revealing their faces and name to Lily at any point, would certainly be doing so if they were going to take her on a date. And yet she surely knew the same thing and still treated helping them with their mask as something important.

They gave her a moment or two to finish the knot and then as they felt her let go of the knot they slowly turned to face her. With them still standing quite close. Right Paw put her hands softly on Lily's sides and looked her in the eyes. "You may choose when to learn our name or have us remove our masks though. Now, later, or after the Ball has ended. Whichever you think would be most interesting," she murmured, barely needing to raise her voice at all with them so close.

Liliana stared up at Right Paw when she turned around and put her hands on Liliana's sides, telling her that she could choose when to reveal their names and discover their faces. "I think that, maybe, I'd like to do that soon," she confessed quietly and with a tiny, but very happy, smile as she took Right Paws hands in her own, feeling oddly nervous and elated at the same time.

"It's also kind of silly on my part to keep the mystery up for too much longer when you and Left Paw already know who I probably am anyway," she told her honestly, holding her gaze through her mask, deciding that maybe it was time, at least for her to remove her mask.

Liliana had been starting to kind of feel strange pretending to be somebody else, especially when they most likely knew who she was. In fact, she was sure a lot of people knew who she was. Her red hair and unconventional dress made her stand out in a quiet sort of way. Like anybody who knew her, would have spotted her without any trouble. And in a way, she had maybe done that on purpose, to let people know she was there and that she wasn't shirking her duties as student council.

"Let's go over here," she said, taking her hand and lightly pulling her as she lead Right Paw off the dance floor, walking over to where Left Paw was dancing with Two Stripes. When they were off to the side, out of the way of people dancing, Liliana let Right Paw's hands go.

"One moment," she said with a wide grin as she bowed her head a bit and carefully undid her mask. Once it was off, she shook her long red hair loose, and ran a hand throught her hair, then she looked up again at Right Paw. "There, unmasked," she laughed, "And I'm Liliana actually, but you can continue to call me Lily if you want. My grandmother always did," she told her warmly.

Right Paw smiled back at Lily as they let their hands be taken into hers. Did her hands suddenly feel a lot softer and warmer than they had before? No, that had to be their mind playing tricks on them. They had once again locked eyes again and the Paws didn't want to break that. For a change they just let Lily lead them by the hands over to where she thought it would be appropriate for them to reveal who they were. They didn't give over control like that to just anyone.

As they stepped off to the side Left Paw joined them while Two Stripes stepped a little ways away, giving them some time sort of alone with Lily. As alone as they were going to get in a room full of people anyway.

They watched as Liliana peeled off her mask and freed her beautiful red hair. Maybe they should have offered to help her remove the mask. She had just helped when Right Paw's mask had fallen. But they were too utterly captivated by her removing her mask. She was indeed a very beautiful young woman. "Being honest, we did know your name after you mentioned your position in the council but we were still maintaining our aliases so it seemed more appropriate to continue using yours," she admitted as they took in what Liliana looked like without the mask.

Then, in unison, Left and Right Paw carefully pulled off their masks. Right Paw fixed her own jet black hair as Left Paw collected both masks to hold for the moment. Their eyes were still probably the most striking features but their slightly pale faces were completely unblemished by any marks or imperfections. Having renewed their bodies only a day before left them in perfect condition.

"And now we are unmasked too. Our real name is KirMir, though if you desire to specify one of our bodies you may use Kir or Mir respectively," explained Kir as he gestured to his body and then towards Mir standing before Liliana. "We can call you Lily or Liliana, whichever you prefer. Admittedly we have grown more accustomed to using Lily but we adapt quite well."

Seeing that a few stray strands of Liliana's hair had come loose as she had shook her head, Mir reached out to softly brush them aside. Hoping that it was not the wrong thing to do in the situation.

When they told her they had already known her name, Liliana smiled. She had rather suspected they had, but that was fine. If she had wanted to fool people she would have worn a wig or something more suited to the occasion like a ballgown or an elegant costume.

"KirMir that is an interesting name," she admitted, having never heard the name before now, as she glanced with keen interest from one to the other thinking that they were both undeniably handsome and beautiful. Their striking blue eyes, dark hair and fair complexion gave them a slightly edgy quality that broke with the idea of traditional beauty.

"You are Kir then and she's Mir, no?" she stated questioningly, looking at Left Paw now while thinking he was very good-looking, more than she had suspected now that the wolf mask was gone and she could see him up close again.

After a second, she glanced again at Mir, and blushed softly when she brushed Liliana's hair out of her face. It was an intimate gesture, but quite welcome at the same time, and it made her realise that she liked and, surprisingly, found both forms equally as attractive.

"Lily..." Liliana said to Mir first grabbing her hand again, and then reaching out with her other hand as she turned to look at Kir, taking his hand in her other, "I like it when you call me Lily," she told KirMir.

"And I'd like to call you both by whatever you find most natural, or comfortable for you," she told them truthfully as she glanced at Kir and then at Mir hopefully.

They smiled and both made eye contact with her as she learned what their faces truly looked like without the masks. There wasn't anything special that they thought was revealed by removing their masks but there was a certain connection that came from each of them knowing the other's name and face.

Kir nodded at the question. "This body would be referred to as Kir, yes. Because we have two bodies our name is split between them. Together, but with the ability for limited separation," he explained even as Mir had begun reaching out to brush Lily's hair aside.

There she went with the blushing again. Only this time there was no mask to hide some of it away. They found it even more attractive without the mask. And it had happened because of what they were doing. Or, more accurately, because of what she felt about them. They didn't always find it easy to translate emotions and social cues properly but that one was quite clear even for them.

In fact, as Lily reached out to take a hand each from Kir and Mir they showed similar coloring on their faces too. Their blush was fainter and wasn't as immediately noticeable, and likely had been missed earlier due to their masks, but Lily was close enough to see it for sure. They were very much attracted to her, and just standing there holding her hands made them elated and excited. Behind their relatively subdued smiling faces, and along that unseen connection between them that was their consciousness there were waves of giddy joy they hadn't felt in quite some time.

"Then Lily is what we will call you," Mir said softly and happily as KirMir adjusted slightly so that their bodies were both equally close to Lily. Kir's other hand was filled with the masks but Mir was able to take her free hand and cup it over the the one Lily was holding hers in. "You can use Kir and Mir as you wish, but we are both at the same time so KirMir is more accurate unless you are addressing only one body specifically," explained Mir and then without missing a beat Kir finished up with, "We respond to all three."

They had a sudden urge to do something to show how they felt. There were multiple ideas and options they went through very quickly before selecting one of them. They'd seen it in a movie and it was supposed to have been a romantic gesture. Of course it would need a little adjustment for the situation. In unison KirMir carefully raised up Lily's hands and gave each hand a kiss. Was that an appropriate action to take? They were worried it wasn't but they felt like the should have done something in the moment and... they were already forming an apology in their mind as they lowered her hands back down, a little sheepishly.

"KirMir," Liliana repeated and then nodded in acquiescence as she looked at Mir, and smiled affectionately, and then at Kir with the very same emotion. It was odd but she felt the same way about both bodies, and she gathered it was because she liked and was attracted to the person, entity, that was KirMir themselves and not just to the physical beings before her. It was a strange yet wondrous revelation really, and she felt very fortunate in a way. She had not ever thought when she first arrived tonight at the ball that she would ever meet somebody as interesting, or special, as KirMir.

"I will call you by your name," she said, noticing the soft flush on their cheeks and glad she wasn't the only one affected by what was going on, "I don't need to call you different names unless, of course, I need to specify something on your persons, otherwise, you are the same person," she reasoned logically.

When Kir and Mir each raised her hands and placed a kiss on them, Liliana was stunned at the gesture, immediately feeling shy, giddy, touched, and also just very special, something she had honestly never felt before with anyone. Just staring at them, Liliana found herself just reacting, not even thinking about what she was about to do.

Hanging on to Kir's hand just a little bit tighter, Liliana leaned over and placed a soft kiss on Mir's cheek. Smiling at her, Liliana then turned her body a fraction and did the very same thing to Kir, placing a tiny kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you," she said with shy confidence. "You are amazingly sweet," she added, squeezing both their hands, and then very reluctantly letting them go, now aware of the time and that the ball was drawing to a close soon.

"I need to go for a bit, they are starting to wind up for the evening. Do you mind, maybe, waiting til I'm done?" she asked looking at them both hopefully.

It was kind of funny really. In a way KirMir was getting double the benefit of Lily's presence because both bodies were holding her hands and she was expressing her affection to each one. She seemed to have accepted that their bodies were one and the same person but was being extremely careful not to leave either one ignored or neglected. Which was very impressive. And she followed the logic of their naming conventions flawlessly.

Technically Lily was the first person from a different species that KirMir had felt so attracted to. The first single-bodied person. But realistically their experience was so limited that even that wasn't much of a big deal. It would be a learning experience both of them.

They had been preparing to apologize and pull back if the strange hand-kissing gesture had been not so well received. Actions in movies were notorious for being unrealistic or unreliable but KirMir hadn't had the experience to know for sure. And yet it didn't go poorly at all.

Lily had leaned forward and kissed them on their cheeks, making them both close their eyes for a moment and blush again. For each kiss. Any doubts they had melted away with the warm touch of her lips, even with how quick it was. "We were not sure if we had gone too far. This type of interaction is not one that we are skilled at," whispered Mir as if it was some great secret. "We just wanted you to know how we were feeling about you."

Unfortunately Lily had her responsibilities to take care of and KirMir were aware of that. Just as she was reluctantly letting go of their hands they were reluctantly letting her go too. Ultimately Mir nodded and gave a small smile. "We know you have your duties to take care of. We'll probably go eat a little more of the food or dance with ourself until you finish. We don't mind waiting until you are done," they reassured. Two Stripes probably was going to take them aside to congratulate them too. And very likely offer to give them some tips for how to be more romantic.

Kir had the two wolf masks in one of their hands still but Mir's hands were both free. They looked over at Lily and gestured towards her own mask. "Would you like us to help put your mask back on?" Kir offered and Mir raised their hands a little to indicate they were free to help her. They would be putting their own masks back on too until it was time to leave with Lily.
