"I had never considered it that way before," Liliana admitted when Left Paw told her she was being helpful to both the living, or those at the school, as well as the dead she guided to the afterlife.
"And surprisingly no, it's been great... I am fine with everything, not sure why... I mean, everyone on the student council committee has been a big help, so maybe that's why." Liliana stated a bit unsure.
When Left Paw squeezed her hand reassuringly, telling her they didn't mind her looking at their soul, Liliana felt both relieved and happy that he, they, were fine with what she had done. "I am glad, you don't mind. Seeing a person's soul allows me to understand people better," she told him earnestly, finding for some reason that his opinion mattered to her. "Souls are sort of like fingerprints, no,.. snowflakes," she corrected herself, "each one is unique and no two souls are alike."
Listening to Left Paw as he spoke of their dance and synergy made Liliana smile, she liked that idea, the idea of being part of something beautiful. Especially since she knew how lovely and special their soul was. In fact, she now wondered what they looked like dancing, she knew her soul was also different to most souls. Psychopomps often burned brighter, and tended to be rather colourful compared to most souls, almost iridescent in nature.
Seeing Two Stripes heading her way, Miss Elaine nodded politely in greeting. "Yes, it is a nice evening for a dance," she said as she then gazed upwards a little as if she was considering the weather, even though they were inside.
"I see you were dancing with them," she declared, but not unkindly, with a nod at Right Paw and Three Stripes. "Is she your partner, the one you want to bond with?" she asked as she peered at the woman curiously.
