He looked to her, lifting his light coated hand he gently placed his fingers on her cheek, "it feels like a long time ago, but it really wasn't all that long," he started in a soothing voice, "back then.....I had no hope, for anything."

"Then I came here, to this island, I met people," he smiled a bit, "I met you, and life became so much brighter, and so I learned there was always hope."

Focusing he covered both of his hands in light, he took one of her hands again, and gently squeezed it, "things will get better, I don't know when and it probably won't be instant," he held her hand, kept his other hand on her cheek, "and until it does, I'll be here, every step of the way. No matter what happens, I'll be right here."

" You're right," she sighed, "It only has a few weeks has only been a few weeks, but it feels like months". Time seemed to pass by very slowly on the island, working against her given the current situation. What was once a seemingly infinite amount of hours to explore now felt like purgatory, cooped up inside, miserable and sick. Even in the chilly weather she felt like she could figuratively melt away any second.

She was curious what happened 'back then', it became apparent that neither of them had talked about their lives pre-academy. For her, it was too hard, even thinking about life back with her uncle and her vision made her tear up a bit. However, James was right, there was always something to look forward to; people to meet and places to explore.

" I hope you're right... " She mumbled, " I want this all to get better so that we can get back to adventuring". So be it if she would never be able to see her family again, or at all, there was still lots of things that she wanted to do on this island. "Whatever happens, we're in this together now, I'm going to be there for you too." She promised, squeezing his 'light' hand. " You've done so much for me the past few days... it's about time I do the same."

" Even I know its a bit crazy for it all to go away in a flash, still... it sure would be nice if it did..." Klef huffed, her breath was warm enough for a cloud of steam to escape. She waved her hand in the `cloudy air, " Funny how I've suddenly become a fire hazard and you're a whole lot less edgier with that light thingy of yours." A disheartened expression remained on her face, but sulking about her problems wouldn't change anything. " You know, if it wasn't for feeling like I'm gonna die, I'd probably laugh right now. What if this is like the world's worst practical joke or something?"

He smiled, "thank you Klef," it meant so much to him that she cared. "We'll get through it all, and when it's over, we'll be stronger for it," they'd take care of each other, he had a few others he could rely on, but with Klef it felt different.

"Hey, I'm here too," the Shadow spoke up, "this light is annoying, I want to get better." The entity huffed a bit, as f he was still adjusting to the peace they had.

"I know what you mean," he gently squeezed her hand again, "I'm suddenly leaking beams of light instead of shadow tentacles." The whole thing was strange, he tilted his head, "when we get back I'll look about the virus and the strains we have."

He smiled again, "either way, everything will be ok," he said with a confident and calming voice, "together we'll beat this." He looked at her, he knew she had strength, he'd seen it at times.
