"The air feels nice," though he kept pushing through it, but he was sick, "it was always hot back home, here there's cool air." The park was quiet, many were home sick, "of course, I wanted you to come, I enjoy spending time with you."
Things had happened fast, they had gotten close, "when I can't sleep, I'd come here," he as they continued their walk, making sure to guide her, "I'd just sit for hours, let my thoughts wander."
As he walked he hummed a song, he didn't remember where he heard it, but it was pleasant. "Klef, I thought of something," focusing, a layer of light energy formed around his hand, before the virus it would have been darkness. "You can't touch skin, because of the virus," he laid his glowing hand on hers, "this can help that," it wasn't skin, it was a warm energy, it could cause no burn.
" Really?" Klef raised an eyebrow, it didn't surprise her that he had trouble sleeping as she was talking to the same boy who she had witnessed drink over eight cups of coffee in a day. " I do that to sometimes," she admitted, hovering her hand over his shoulder to avoid getting lost, " — well not here of course, but you saw me up on that roof, sitting back thinking about stuff is kind of nice sometimes."
Klef stopped in her tracks, at first she thought James had a joke to tell. It caught her off guard when she felt a hand against her shoulder that was not hers nor James, it did not hurt. " Weird...." She commented, a bewildered expression showed on her face as she tried to comprehend what it was. It was not Shadow either, she saw it's aura well enough to guess how it probably would feel, his definitely was not as warm. Oh yeah, she remembered the virus switched up his powers to something the complete opposite, in this case it was light. " I---I mean not in a bad way," she told him reassuringly, not wanted to offend him, " this is actually quite helpful."
" Still don't have eyes to do stuff, but thanks for helping out James." She told him with a light grin on her face. Life without eyes was rough, but there was now a sliver of hope that she could be 'normal' again. " I didn't expect to retire from adventuring so early on, I don't want to honestly" Klef sighed, " Maybe we still can go adventuring sometime in the future, I'll find a way."
