Chloe shook her head. "Nah, that isn't rude. They totally do look like animals. Not a lot of people are gonna care what you're eating, though. Lots of humans are uncomfortable about how some vampires need to consume human blood, and that's usually been the bigger social issue with food." It was a wonder that the Manta Carlos Vampire Hunting Association had survived this long to keep spewing its hate. In the year 2016, even.

Demonic aging was a much more comfortable topic. "It depends on the demon," Chloe said. "My dad exists in a realm where time is sort of an arbitrary concept and he's eternal and godlike. I have a human mother, and I'm definitely continuing to grow older, but we don't know if that's going to stop or slow down or speed up or what. I could be immortal." She shrugged. "Nobody knows, but my dad is pretty sure I'm sitting on a thousand years. And I know some other demons with life expectancies much shorter or longer than a human's, and they know this because their parents were sort of the same as them. It tends to be longer than a human lifespan. Immortals are rare at the school as students."

She still needed to eat, though. "By the way, how do you like this place so far? Food good?" If he spoke up, she could get a couple uninterrupted bites in.

Aedan sighed with relief, a minotaur was behind him he grabbed his burger, he nodded, "yea it's nice place. There's so much to do and see." He looked around the cafeteria, still a little amazed at the beings. "My dad used to tell me that.....being normal is boring and that a little insanity makes life interesting." His lip twitched, some of his more unpleasant memories came back, he quickly pushed them back down, it wasn't easy but he managed it.

He took a bite of his food letting the burning spices and sauce tingle his taste buds. Trying to think of something to say. Small talk was not his strong suit. "So.....what do you do to pass time around here?"

As a general rule, Chloe didn't ask the weirdly-timed new arrivals about their past. It was usually pretty heavy. Stuff like becoming an orphan or surviving genocide was usually bad table conversation.

"For fun? I mean, I usually have a pretty full schedule. Occasionally there's some cool stuff that goes on in the city. Sometimes I hang out at the nightclub my dad owns, but you, uh, probably couldn't get in there." She'd let him assume it was just because of his age. Gomorrah's entrance policies were a bit of a news item for weeks: no humans.

She let out a thoughtful 'hmm,' trying to come up with something that Aedan could actually do. "I guess, there's just a bunch of crazy stuff downtown. Markets and street performances and random events and stuff. There's museums about magic and things that the outside world doesnt know about. There's... like, whatever kinds of fun things you'd expect from a standard big city, too. And the beach. The beach is great."

All these cool things to do, and Chloe was usually just looking at garbage on Netflix with her girlfriend in her spare time. That research fellowship she got working with the cursed books in the library was really taking a lot out of her, and it was going to be a nightmare to balance that with school and running the Demonic Student Union. And learning about her own demonic heritage. Insert fire hose into mouth, open nozzle. She even considered going to her father's club a chore most of the time; she did it to sate her unnatural hungers more than she did it to actually have fun.

"Honestly I'm pretty boring in my spare time. I don't give myself a lot of it right now."

She was probably going to have to drop a class to fix that.

Aedan nodded, "I'm not used to big cities, but I'll be fine." With his level of training there's very little he couldn't deal with, supernatural or not. He may hit the market, he loved spicy foods, and he wondered what kind of peppers demons eat.

He went back to his food eating slowly while thinking about all he'd seen while here. He took another look around the room, and noticed what appeared to be a werewolf giving him a mean look, he went back to his food, not out of fear, he was new and a bit worried about offending people.
