It was a beautiful Fall day. Not too hot, but not quite catching the cold of Winter yet. And with just enough cloud cover to keep the sun from beating down, it was a great day to be doing some PT. Roldan was taking a couple of days off of his regular patrolling to oversee the cadets in the Junior Police program at Starlight. He enjoyed these times, because it was nice to go back and see how things evolved over time from when he was in the program. That, and hanging out with the new blood he'd be working with and overseeing in future years.
He was s porting a newer look, his hair cut close to his head in a short, spiky crew cut and a small patch of hair growing in a neat square on his chin. He was trying new things, trying to look more mature and professional. He had even taken the piercings out of his lips and started allowing the holes to close up. But other than that, he was dressed for working out: a pair of regular black track pants and a t-shirt bearing the Manta Carlos Police Department's shield.
He looked over at the group of students, either doing their pre-workout stretches or just finishing them up. He gave a big, fanged grin and saluted them all very casually. "Afternoon, cadets. I am Patrol Officer Roldan Drakenhardt. Yes, the Drakenhardts." A couple of the more savvy students chuckled and nudged each other at that. "You might hear other officers call me Hotplate. You cannot. You haven't earned it yet. That said, I'm not a hard ass. Today is going to be as casual as it can be, but we are still gonna get work done."
"First order of business: now that you're all good and stretched we're gonna go through some disarming drills, but with a twist. If you are acting as the officer in the drill you must wear one of these." He held up an item that he pulled from his pocket that most of them would recognize. A power nullifying bracelet. "You may have to disarm opponents who are much physically stronger than you. This is a perfect opportunity to learn how not to go about it. I'll be walking around, watching you and giving tips. If you have any questions, just flag me over."
