Things were, in the very least, beginning to sink in.

Dante was still trying to acclimatize to his new environment, the people here were truly unlike any that he'd seen before. While the initial reveal that magic was in fact real had sunk in years ago, the fact that there were other people like him was taking it's time to settle in his mind.

Sometimes he'd blink and he'd swear that everything around him was some kind of dream. That he'd actually wake up in his flat, and that everything that he was experiencing here on the island was some kind of fever dream. Still, even if this was some kind of dream or hallucination, his curiosity was getting the better of him. Or, in the very least, it prompted him to leave the school grounds. There was an entire island to explore, and he knew that there was a vast city for him to nose about in.

As such, he'd made his way into the city. To him it seemed like a very normal city, but then again the school, at first glance, seemed normal as well. Dante knew that this place was likely hiding many secrets, and many interesting people.

Walking down the street his mind was running at full-speed. He was trying to take in everything that he was seeing. Partly out of curiosity, but also to make sure that he knew how to get back to the school grounds once he was done with this jaunt.

It was a rather rough hit to his side that snapped him back to reality in full. At first he'd thought that he'd been mugged, though that seemed not to be the case, as it seemed he'd been the one at fault. The person he'd run into seemed to be a woman.

A moment ran past him before he realized that he needed to apologize. "I'm sorry!" His voice was probably a tad louder than it should've been. "Are you alright?"

Smooth. Really smooth.

Things were all going well in Nessie's life. The child she carried in her stomach now was starting to show a little, which was...different, but not in a bad way. It was pretty clear from the way her body was normally model-perfect that she was pregnant and not just gaining weight.

She and Edward had cleared out the guest room and started buying the necessities as they awaited their new arrival. They'd recently gone out and selected an engagement ring, too; something small and simple, which suited her well. Nessie had never been one for theatrics. She kept to herself for the most part, living her own little life without much to get in the way or complicate things.

Nessie had been out and about today, buying new art supplies to paint in the large mural she'd finally finished sketching out on the newly-painted white walls in the nursery. She was checking her phone when someone knocked into her, causing her purse to slip off her shoulder and onto the ground, its contents of new paint brushes and tubes of paints spilling out onto the sidewalk, along with her notebook that she used to communicate with.

The redhead nodded in response and knelt to begin collecting her belongings in her usual silence.

It was strange that the woman didn't seem to take offense to what had just happened. Or if she had, she didn't seem to say it. That only made the guilt that was now beginning to form in his gut rise up through his throat. "Ah, let me help you with that." The guilt formed words, as he bent over and helped her pick up her items. He couldn't help but think it was a bit strange that she had been carrying painting items in her purse. Did most girls do that? He wasn't sure.

"Are you an artist?" Dante was reaching from something to say to help break the silence. He could understand if she didn't want anything to do with him after he'd rudely knocked into her. Though, even if he could understand it, he hoped that she wasn't too angry with him.

He'd only been here a little while, he didn't want to (already) have a bad impression on the locals.

Nessie righted her purse and started to put the items back into it when the male who'd bumped into her started to help...as he should. He was the one who'd caused the mess, after all. At least she didn't have to worry about any of the paints spilling or anything, since they were new and still sealed up properly.

She glanced up at the male as they were knelt together on the ground and nodded in response to his question. Once everything was safely back in her purse, she stood up, notebook and pencil in hand.

I'm working on a mural for my baby's room, she wrote in her book and then turned it around to show it to him. Nessie wasn't really the type to be communicative, but lately she'd been opening up a little bit more to others. She set her free hand on her stomach and smiled a little, a soft blush falling across her cheeks.

The fact that she didn't speak and only nodded made the guilt in his gut settle even further in. I've already apologized, should I do it again? Would that be the polite thing to do, or would it only make me look worse? As these thoughts ran through his mind he didn't see the woman writing anything down. By the time he realized that he should probably apologize again, he looked down to see that she had written something on the notebook in her hands.

Can she not talk? Or does she not want to? Either way the question seemed impolite, so he opted to not ask, especially considering the fact that he was still feeling a bit awkward.

"Oh, I see." Dante would've relaxed there and then, given that she was in the very least beginning to communicate with him. But then he looked down at her stomach and realized that she was pregnant.

He'd just ran into a pregnant woman. The guilt came back tenfold.

"I'm sure they'll appreciate it." He said, desperately looking for another facet of the conversation to cling onto. "The only thing I can actually draw is stick figures, and, mind you, I consider myself fairly good at the craft, but I doubt I could ever do something as fancy as a mural." That was the truth, he'd never had a talent for the arts - whether drawing, writing, or acting.

"What are you planning to make the mural of?"

The boy seemed rather distressed, but Nessie just watched him patiently, not showing any signs of frustration with him and hoping that in realizing that she wasn't upset, he would calm down a little. At least he wasn't apologizing profusely - it was a sign of weakness to a Fae to apologize, though she'd brushed the initial one off since he probably didn't know she was Fae.

At his question, she flipped around in her notebook for the initial watercolor that she'd made as a guide for the real thing and turned it around to show it to him. It was a beautiful, serene scene of Loch Ness, complete with deep waters and lush, green hillsides. She wanted to share her original home with her child. Eventually, she wanted to be able to make trips with her family back to the Loch, once the child was old enough to go.
