A cabin in the woods

Hecate as she knew herself would deny that he was right--that he knew what sort of predicament she just found herself in more than she did. No, 'she was the smart one' she would say again to herself, 'she was the one who knew everything to any situation' she'd add.She was still for a moment, recollecting her thoughts, trying to make a solid argument as she toned him out of her thoughts. Shut up, just shut up! she thought.

Then Eden leaned forward to place his lips on hers. Hecate froze for only a moment before pulling away slightly, "Can't you just shut up?" she whispered before closing back the space between them, placing a searing kiss on his unlike the ones Eden had left on her--it was demanding, and very much like her, just to shut him up was another one of her excuses.

Hecate's movements were a little clumsy from inexperience, almost nipping at Eden's lips as she did, but it never showed any sign of hesitation. She was only vaguely aware of their position by then; tangling her fingers into his hair, she pulled him closer. Another moment passed before she broke the kiss, only to mutter breathlessly. "Be quiet you," she breathed out before crashing her lips back into his with even more fire muting what could have been another retort from him. She didn't want to hear it. Her pulse was rushing, breath heaving but her attention was solely on Eden and him alone.

Hecate's thoughts seemed only to focus on the sensations that she was feeling on her skin — their lips connected and the feel of his hair in her hand. Her hand that was left on his collar eventually made to trace the line of his jaw. She felt almost intoxicated with just the feeling of him so close to her. Her movements eventually slowed, though her mind still whirling from the moment.

She pulled away slightly, her face still lingering close to his. It only took one look in his eyes for her to sober up, but she found she didn't even know how to excuse what she'd did. Tearing her gaze away she untangled her hold on him, and tried to stand up just so she could create distance between the two of them. This wasn't in the plans, she chided herself, what was I thinking?!

Whatever inner turmoil Hecate was having at the moment, she hid it well enough to keep Eden from seeing it. She stood steps away from Eden, her back facing him and her eyes anywhere else where she couldn't even see him from peripheral view. Looking back to her board, it was then everything was crashing down on her. The entire situation was ridiculous, if she could say anything about it. All her justifications about hounding him for the sake of her mission, invalidated, just like that. Photos looked back at her mockingly as the realization set in how she managed to obsess over tracking him within a the week she had spent on the island.

How she didn't see this soon enough was beyond her. She was supposed to be the smart one, she reminded herself. And yet she had been too wrapped up that she didn't see what was right in her face. She felt like she needed time to absorb all of this. She needed to be alone.

Hecate felt a hand on her shoulder which reminded her she wasn't alone yet. She took a moment before she found her voice again. "Get out," she spoke quietly, keeping her voice even despite herself.
