Felen wasn't prone to interfering too much in Ms. Del Bosque's personal life. But given the events of the last little while, and the deleterious effects they had brought forth in his employer he knew something needed to be done. He wasn't even sure if Zoraida had paid attention enough to focus on the annual Lilac Festival but Felen sure had. What could he say? He liked music. And a little fresh air would do her some good.

It had taken a fair bit of work to convince Ms. Del Bosque to attend the Festival. With or without him, but Felen had been certain she would need his support at the very least. A calm assistant or a protective bodyguard- either way.

"Ms. Del Bosque, are you ready to depart for the Festival?" His smooth elven voice carried through the locked door, though he had no doubt she heard him. A polite two steps back to wait was the norm and Felen had no reason to change that up yet. He, himself was dressed up slightly for the occasion. Opting to wear a very nice set of white and royal blue robes of elven make. Trimmed in silver along the edges and the wide collar. Tucked inside of course were his firearm and dagger, though his sword was worn at the hip in a polished and silvered scabbard. In short, he was making the most of the occasion.

When Felen had mentioned going to the Lilac Festival to her a few days ago, Zora had just stared at him with a look of confusion and surprise on her face. She had completely, one hundred percent, forgotten about the event. Even though her aunt had even mentioned it once or twice to her over the weeks, and that she might perform. Something Celeste, rarely, if ever did.

"Please, come in, Felen," Zoraida replied tiredly, standing at her makeshift desk when he knocked on the door to see if she was ready - which she sort of was, and sort of wasn't. She was dressed in a mid-length long-sleeved white dress, which was actually the druid colour for mourning, but she was still barefoot and the hat she was wearing with the outfit was laying on her hotel bed.

"I think I should probably beg off. Please, go without me. Enjoy yourself," she told her assistant slash bodyguard, noticing how nicely he was dressed and immediately feeling bad that she might be keeping him from have a good time.

"I am just not in a very good frame of mind today," she told him, not sure she wanted to go out in public and have people whispering about her, because most surely the would, how could they not? Or that was her fear along with the fear of breaking down in public and making a fool of herself since her emotions were still such a rollercoaster.

(btw, they are staying at a hotel since she has not gone home since the suicide.)

((gotcha, I tried to leave it as vague as I could))

Felen waited a moment and then stepped inside, closing the door behind himself. His eyes quickly took in her condition and the location of her various accessories. Not ready. Perhaps she had started to get ready and then lost motivation or resolve. Honestly, not terribly unexpected given what had happened.

He stepped forward a little closer and nodded his head in respect to his employer. "You look exhausted. Still not sleeping well enough ma'am?" He'd moved to stand with his hands clasped behind his back. Almost at a relaxed form of attention. Making it clear he had no intention of leaving the room on such a half-order. A suggestion, that he felt was likely more of an attempt at hiding herself than it was ensuring Felen enjoyed himself.

"Ms. Del Bosque, you know I cannot force you to go. Would not aspire to attempt such a gamble. But I will not leave you like this. If you are not feeling up to going to the Festival I shall keep you company here." His words were like bright colored silk in the gloom. Soft and smooth and yet quite clear. As if his words danced off his tongue rather than just being expelled from it. Elves. But it wasn't insincere or an attempt to manipulate her. By now she likely knew him well enough to know he would indeed spend the entire Festival indoors ensuring her safety, and attempting to help her find comfort, if that was required.

((I forgot to mention it. : ) But I noticed, and thanks.))

"I still haven't been sleeping well, no," Zoraida admitted with a tiny and very resigned sigh as she looked at her hat on the bed. She knew it was not a secret to Felen. He had already experienced her night terrors, bad dreams that had woken her up screaming in the middle of the night. Or quite simply, accompanying her in the middle of the night for a walk, restless with a desperate need to get away from the hotel.

Glancing this time at Felen when he spoke again, Zoraida was once again reminded why she had hired him. Elves had something about them, the way they spoke and reacted to things. Their calm manner always managed to instill a sense of confidence and calm in her. She suspected it was partly the forest druid blood in her, and the fact that, on some level, Felen reminded her a little of Matthias - her son's father.

"Thank you, and I do know that, " Zora remarked softly, and gratefully. So far Felen had been very supportive and she knew he'd quite easily place her well-being over going to the festival... however, this time, part of her was struggling internally with her need to hide away from the world, and her desire to support her niece and to trust in Felen that the festival might offer her a moment's reprieve from her sorrow and allow her to get some fresh air.

"However," she started again, "I feel bad that you are missing the festival," she admitted, "And I think Celeste was hoping I'd attend too," she added with some hesitation as she glanced out the window again and saw how nice the weather seemed outside. The first hints of summer were even in the air and that was making her feel even worse at not wanting to go.

"Maybe for a little while?" she suggested to Felen, uncertain of her decision.

Felen nodded. It had been kind of a pointless question to ask. He had spend many nights being roused to respond to her terror or restlessness. He even had taken to leaving his familiar just outside her door so Polgid could alert him if she needed him and he wasn't near enough to hear. At least he required far less sleep than a human so his own condition hadn't deteriorated.

He nodded along as she reasoned aloud, clearly trying to convince herself to go. Like someone trying to convince themself to get out of bed in the morning after a rough night. "She did seem quite enthused about performing. You said yourself that it is not a common thing for her." Reasoning based on her family was the appropriate move. He didn't like to argue based on how he might really enjoy going to the Festival, even if it was true. This was about Ms. Del Bosque and what she needed.

Felen let a bit of a smile creep into the corner of his mouth as he noted her attention shift to looking out the window. She wasn't going to refuse to go after all. He seized the opportunity to stoop down and retrieve her shoes. Approaching her and holding them out towards her using his normal elven hand. Offering to actually put them on her feet seemed just a tad too much.

"Of course. We need only stay a short time and I can return you nearly instantly to here if you need it. I'll be at your side the entire time, if you wish." Like a resolute barrier against trouble or a column of support. Felen was prepared to escort her however she needed.

At the mention of Celeste, Zora found herself nodding quietly in agreement. Her aunt had been very enthused about performing, and she had been there whenever Zora needed her - especially lately. Looking back from the window to Felen, Zora had to smile a little when she saw him holding out her shoes to her.

"Thank you, Felen," she replied appreciatively as she took the proffered white high heeled pumps and slipped them onto her feet, immediately gaining an inch and a half, but still dwarfed by Felen who normally was almost a good foot and a half taller than her.

"I'd like that," she admitted, feeling a bit better about everything now, when he offered to stay with her and transport her back if needed.

Taking the hat off the bed, Zora looked at it for a moment, and then set it back down on the bed, deciding not to wear it, and instead just tying her hair back with a white silk scarf. Then she grabbed a pair of sunglasses and a small wallet style purse.

"I'm ready, whenever you are. Lead the way," she said confidently to him, putting on a brave face as she let her assistant decide the easiest way to the festival, deciding also that whatever happened that afternoon, she was going to try and have a good time.

Felen merely nodded as she took the shoes and then waited for her to get herself situated. Apparently the hat was not going to be employed today and Felen made a mental note that she might feel slightly more exposed without it. Something to keep in mind.

"Very well, let me just prepare the room first," he replied as he began moving about the room to turn off all but one smaller light and pull the blinds closed. The more shadows in the room the easier it would be to return in a hurry. With the completely dark bathroom being the last resort- he preferred not to intrude that far into his employer's privacy if he could help it.

It was only a minute or two wait, as Felen was somewhat adept at taking these measures. While he worked he opened the door and instructed Polgid to enter the room. Having them stand guard by a pool of shadows wold be very helpful if they were needed. After that though Felen strode back over to Zoraida. "Ma'am, if you wouldn't mind taking my hand for a few moments?"

He reached his normal left hand out for her to take and his demon clawed hand extended just a little bit into a shadowy bit of the room nearby. To be honest Felen wasn't sure how Zora felt about the shadow striding but limiting her public exposure, at least at first, seemed prudent.

Once her hand was firmly clasped in his he pulled her with him through the shadows. For a moment their bodies seemed to almost be made of air. Or darkness itself, as the darkened hotel room around them disappeared and was replaced by complete blackness. And then they found themselves in a back alley fairly close to where the concert was being held at the Festival. There would still be some walking to get there but far less than traveling from the hotel itself. Scouting out the area the night prior seemed to have paid off well so far.

"Would you like to head straight to the concert or perhaps peruse some of the food and beverage vendors?" Felen asked once he was sure the travel hadn't had any unforeseen effects on Zora.

Watching him shroud the room, Zora then took Felen's hand, trusting him fully in his careful endeavor to transport them safely to the Lilac Festival. The journey was just as quick as when she teleported by herself, but different in its execution. The feeling when they jumped, in itself, was not unpleasant just mildly odd. It was almost like she ceased to exist for that fraction of a second.

And when they arrived not a moment later, just a short ways away from everything, she felt a slight moment of dizziness and grasped on tightly to Felen's arm to steady herself. Letting the moment pass, Zora looked up at Felen, "Food sounds, and smells good actually," she admitted as a whiff of fried carnival foods floated their way, reminding her that she hadn't eaten that morning - unless one counted coffee as food.

"Have you ever eaten or tried funnel cakes?" she asked Felen as she gently disengaged herself from his arm, thinking that he might find her familiarness strange or uncomfortable.

Felen had widened his stance and bent at the knees a bit so he could help steady Zora as she returned to corporeality. His demon hand ready to be cast out for further support if need be. But of course she only needed the moment to catch her breath and clear her head. He realized it might have been a good thing that she hadn't eaten too much before traveling like that.

If he had been bothered by her wrapping around his arm for support suddenly he didn't show it in the way he was standing or in his face. His expression was kind, but slightly taught, in the way it always got when he was out in public with her. On the job, as it were. Alert and professional, though he did let a faint smile creep in when she mentioned getting something to eat.

"No Ma'am I have not, to my knowledge, tried that kind of cake." He answered as he took a moment to ensure his attire, and the weapons and items concealed within, was all in place before gesturing for Zora to walk with him towards the more well-lit street and the Festival itself.

"If that is what I am smelling I would expect they are very delicious." Just because he didn't need to eat a whole lot didn't mean he didn't appreciate a treat here and there. "I think that would be a great start."

He didn't stray too far from her, remaining within a few feet at her side as they made their way into the light crowd at the outskirts of the Festival.

"It has been a while since I've eaten them myself," Zoraida admitted as she stood back just a little and tightened the scarf in her hair, also taking a quick moment to readjust herself while Felen made sure his weapons and everything was in place.

When they were both composed and ready to move on, Zora joined him as they headed off in the direction of the food stalls, feeling a tiny bit better already despite the lack of sleep and food. It was also nice, in a way, to not have to make huge decisions and just let Felen, in his quiet way, guide her along.

When they came to the funnel cake stall - which smelled really good - Zora looked over the various menu choices and then ordered for herself just a plain funnel cake with powdered sugar. She honestly did not think, even though she was fairly hungry that anything more decadent would sit well with her.

When she was finished with her own cake order, she consulted with Felen to see what he wanted, automatically grabbing a few paper napkins as she let him decide if he wanted a fruit topping or some other sweet drizzle, whipped cream, or there was even an ice cream topping which sounded great.
