The days following Ethan's meeting with Caissa, or 'Mel' as she had called herself at first, had been filled with Ethan spending his time thinking about how best to go about the women's request. The fact she was trying to use others into doing so, made him wary and as fitting of his character extra cautious. While Caissa had been expecting him to use his aura in order to manipulate a few demons into paying their debts back in blood. If discovered he knew the voluntary nature of his nullification bracelet would quickly be replaced with enforced one. As such Ethan had turned to legal means to get what the women had wanted.

He had discovered Bleedr, an app designed pretty much for the purpose he required. He didn't want to leave an obvious trail still however, so instead of simply finding a demon who could fill the request, Ethan had picked out a shapeshifter, one who went by the user name RainbowCake. They could apparently ingest someone elses DNA and then shift into a perfect copy of their species. Allowing Ethan to hopefully get the blood he needed, while also not making it obvious that he was after demon blood in particular. He didn't exactly want Caissa finding out the means he had decided to use either.

The pair of them would have shared messages over a few days, eventually leading to them arrange to meet in order to talk over things in person. Culminating with Ethan sending the address of his club 'The Black Lotus.', a small but quite profitable casino and bar. He would have already informed the staff that he was expecting company, and when they arrived to escort them from the main floor, up to the mezzanine floor that served as his personal VIP area over looking the rest of the club.

He had also spent time, the day before preparing for the meeting. Firstly by getting a small amount of blood from one of the few demons in debt. A small amount, small enough they had gladly taken the bet. It serving as a source of demon DNA to copy, if Kon had none in their system and medical equipment such as syringes and blood bags. Something his history with drug, he both knew how to use and acquire. Sitting up at his personal bar, Ethan sipped at a glass of whiskey waiting for one of his employees to inform him, that his company had arrived.

Konpeitō accepted that he was a tough Bleedr partner. He held many benefits with his powers, and more now that he could change species, but he was also extremely busy. Sometimes he could drop everything (he tried to keep his profile updated for when he could). Sometimes he had to spend days working things out with his partner. Like now.

Kon arrived at The Black Lotus in casual attire: a loose dark purple chiffon shirt with a very low v-neck, a necklace with a skull laying on the top of his chest, and black bootcut pants. He was happy he didn't change his appearance too much, as he was quickly escorted to the VIP room based on his unique appearance. All he needed to do was tongue-fight a demon, change his scent to match the species' scent and do some other internal modifications. Most importantly, his blood needed to match.

While being led to his 'client's' room, Kon admired the scenery. He picked the perfect job. This was a place he would need to visit more. He had visited once or twice previously, but that was long ago when he had the time to explore the island.

Finally, the client was insight. "Hello!" he said enthusiastically. "I'm RainbowCake, but I'd prefer to be called Konpeitō now." His expression turned impressed when he saw how prepared Ethan was. They did discuss what was needed, but some people could be lazy and bring the bare minimum.

With the two together, the escort took her leave.

Ethan would stand from the bar, and walk over to the shifter, and smile. "Ethan, Ethan Alexander." He would offer a large hand to Kon. "A pleasure to meet you Konpeitō." The hand he offered would currently be wearing a bracelet, it colour warning of the nature of his aura if Kon had missed all the sign around the bar warning about in the first place. Though if Kon looked closer, he would also not that the bracelet also was of the nullification design, and that it would be safe to shake his hand without worrying about being influence. Not that Ethan would know, that Kon had his own protection from such effect anyway.

He would give a firm handshake if Kon took it, before pulling his hand back and heading back to the bar where the equipment was. "As we talked about, I'm in need a a decent quantity of demon blood. From the smallest variation in sources as possible. I figured your unique ability would allow me to double up without risking taking too much from anyone person at once." He spoke as he sat again at the bar, giving the equipment one last look over to make sure everything was in good condition.

Though the professional nature might have been slightly diminished by him stopping to slip the bracelet off briefly to drink a large gulp from a glass of vodka before putting the bracelet back on again. The annoying need to feed his addictive nature, which was his bracelet interfered with. "I have some experience around all this stuff, but I'm somewhat counting on your judgement when it come to the amount I can take, as your profile seemed to imply you not new to this. The more the better, but I don't expect you to go beyond what you are capable of." He told Kon, trying to sound practical but reasonable at the same time. As he turned in his bar stool back to face Kon.

"Well now if we're doing full names, I'm Konpeitō Hatsu," he added on while shaking Ethan's hand. His eyes did quickly glance over the aura warning and nullification bracelet. Day after day Kon became more convinced that this necklace was a lifesaver.

Konpeitō took a seat next to Ethan and crossed his legs, listening to the man talk. He didn't mind the quick slip of the bracelet for a drink. It was a bar. His bar. He could do whatever he liked.

"My regeneration works faster when the damage is more severe. As long as it isn't fatal, I'll be fine. All you're doing is taking blood. Humans are already good at getting that back, so this will be a piece of cake for me," he said enthusiastically, followed by an excited chuckle.

"I already changed myself to be classified as a demon. I could do more modifications later on if you need more types of blood, but from the sound of it, less is better! So!" He clapped his hands together, the fur dampening the sound. Simultaneously, his body's colors brightened, becoming more neon in hue. "I'm ready to start when you are!"

Ethan smiled to himself, thinking how it sounded as if he had landed the jackpot in his selection on the Bleedr app. It hadn't indicated that Kon ability would allow him to also donate larger blood supplies then a normal person could, in addiction to his species shifting ability. What a fortuitous outcome for him. "That sounds incredibly useful, it make sense you ended up doing this I suppose." Ethan said, as he connected the tube of one of the blood bags to the needle. "Give me your hand." He added holding out his hand to Kon.

Once Kon did, Ethan would tie a band just below the elbow joint before opening a alcohol wipe and cleaning off a small section of his inner arm. He would tend take his hands away, to put on a pair of plastic gloves and feel at Kon's arm to find a vein before slowly pushing a needle into it. "Just try to squeeze your hand occasionally to keep things flowing." Ethan instructed. Unlike taking small amounts of blood for a test with a syringe alone, larger quantities relied on the body pumping the blood out.

Slowly the tube from the needle, to the bag would start to fill, and Ethan would gently pick up the bag and rock it back and forth as the blood reached it. While he had some equipment, he didn't have everything a blood donation clinic might, as such he didn't have the machine that would rock the bags to make sure the blood mixed with the anticoagulant n them, but he did it himself by hand. Even if they did have it though, taking blood in quantity was a long process. "If you don't mind me asking, where exactly do your abilities come from?" Ethan asked, curious but knowing that sitting in silence as he took Kon's blood would have been exceedingly boring.

Konpeitō giggled as he outstretched his arm towards Ethan. "It does! It's easy money too. Not the Bleedr thing. I also donate my body for medical use. It's wild how many job opportunities you receive when you become a shape-shifter." He stopped there, not wanting to distract Ethan from his work.

Kon clenched his hand every five to ten seconds. Not content to becoming bored, he began planning out and reviewing his schedule for the following weeks. That lasted shorter than he anticipated, as Ethan was apparently the type to talk through blood draws. Konpeitō didn't mind. In fact, he appreciated it. He just understood that some people liked the process to be quiet.

"I got them from a god," he said flatly with a blank expression. When he was given a reaction, he laughed. "I wasn't lying, but it's more mundane than that. Somehow. Wow, my perception of the mundane has been really screwed up by this place. Anywhooo, I met a god who could grant powers in exchange for weekly worship or secrets."

'A god, interesting.' Ethan though to himself, a thoughtful expression on his face. He suppose it made sense that another god could grant someone such impressive regenerative abilities. Ethan continued to focus on making sure the bag mixed well, but smiled back at Kon. "Well I suppose it is mundane to some. If you were born on the islands all the madness would seem normal." Ethan mused aloud to Kon and chuckled.

"I'm a god myself as well, though a very young one but most standards. I formed outside of the islands and was their for quite some time before I ended up here, so even I find how common the supernatural happens here." Ethan revealed a little about himself in return to him answering his question.

"Though as long as you enjoy life, it doesn't exactly matter if things are mundane or not, and it sounds as if you might live a lot more life then you otherwise might because of that god gifts." Ethan told him, even if the gifts didn't direly lengthen Kon's life the pretty much removed the risk of an untimely end still.

Konpeitō still felt surprised when he met a god. Not as much surprise as before, but enough to warrant a raise in his eyebrows. Nowadays, he saw them as any other being, sometimes weaker than most others, sometimes stronger.

Ethan's comment on life was particularly notable to Kon. "I'm only just approaching my one year anniversary here, so I'm still adjusting. And you're right, I am going to be living a lot longer. I only had about ten years left before working with the god." He didn't speak with any hint of sadness. Those days were past him now. He got what he wanted and that was that.

“Lucky you to get a second lease on life than.” Ethan said, tactically avoiding asking why Kon would only have had 10 years to live if it wasn’t for the abilities the god had granted him. “A great way to pay the gift forward by doing this, regardless of the motive.” Ethan said, gesturing with his free hand to the tube and blood bag.

Being paid for blood donations was comment even in the normal world beyond the islands, not everyone wanted nothing in return for helping the world in someway and in Ethan mind it was fair. You had to give up both time, and energy to donate so why not get something out of it as well.

"It certainly was one of the things that made me think staying on this island was worth it, even if my approach was reckless and ignorant," he said with a small smile.

Kon looked at the blood bag, impressed by how long he was handling his blood being drained. "I saw it as one of the easier ways to make myself useful here. I like knowing that I can help people." As he spoke his words, a flash of conflict spread across his face. They were words he believed, but the reason why he believed them made him question speaking them at all.
