Frysta let out a low growl when the boars charged, and did their best to try and gore him. It was certainly a valiant effort, Frysta just kind of swatted them away with his front leg. He noticed Aura grabbing a stick to try and whack one.

"It's fine, I think they got the message," he let out a roar in the boar's direction that was accented with purple flames. They seemed to bolt off into the woods.

Frysta returned to his human form, rubbing the back of his neck. He was glad Aura didn't actually put herself in harm's way over a couple boars. He knew she was probably still wary about shifting in front of people. He was positive he could handle anything that came at them.

"You were gonna come at them with that though?" Frysta gestured to the stick. "That's kinda bold but don't throw yourself into harm's way. I'm pretty sure your girlfriend would beat me up if you got hurt."

The boars couldn't do anything to hurt the dragon. It wasn't even close. The first one was sent flying and the second just rolled and rolled until it disappeared into the bushes. There were whines and snorts and a whole cacophony of annoyed pig noises but the boars didn't come back. There were more interesting things to explore. Things that wouldn't fling them about like they were nothing.

Aura blushed in embarrassment as she looked down at the stupid stick she had grabbed. She was more likely to get herself seriously injured than beat off a boar with a stick. Especially one aggressive enough to charge a dragon. "I...," she paused. Right. Hella would have been really upset to hear about it. Frysta would probably too, now that she thought about it. He wouldn't have said it but Aura guessed he would have felt really guilty if he'd "let" something like that happen. Even though she would have healed. "I just um...didn't want to stand there doing nothing. I'm not helpless." The last bit made her feel so small for some reason. Aura let out a small growl and hurled the stick like a javelin into the bushes.

Aura swallowed hard and then clenched her fists in determination. This was something she had to do. She had to start with someone and Frysta was her best friend in the world. She cleared her throat and then forced herself to utter the words, "I really hesitated there. If it had been something worse I could have got us both hurt. Frysta... um... do you think you can um, try not to freak out and hate me if I show you- what I can be?" Her non-eldritch eye seemed to show her fear in it. Irrational, maybe. But this was a Big Deal for her.

Frysta opened his mouth, he was about to protest, point out that everything was fine now. That Aura didn't have to do anything because he was there with her. But he stopped himself before any of that could come out of his mouth. That was exactly what Aura didn't want to hear, and he knew she was right. This wasn't the usual turf for either of them. Finally, there was her pride to consider, he wasn't going to patronize his best friend.

"When you told me about your past I didn't run away from you. I'm not going to run away from you now either. And there's no way I could hate you."

Frysta thought he knew what to expect. He knew Aura's wolf form wasn't conventional. He also knew it was what she looked like when she killed her family. Her dislike and nervousness for taking this form was understandable. He gave her a smile and took a step back, to give her space.

Frysta's instinct had been right. It was extremely difficult to work up the courage for this and if he'd told her she didnt need to- that she was fine because he was there... well she might have burst into tears. She didn't need anything eroding her resolve at that moment or she'd give up, and probably feel horrible about herself in doing so.

Aura gave a slow nod and forced a tiny wavering smile into her face. "Thank you Frysta, and I do hope you wont run away. But this isnt going to be um... pretty." She said softly with her nerves making her voice shaky.

He'd taken a step back but... she knew that wasnt nearly enough. Aura backed away about 15 feet or so and tossed her bag off to the side. Closing her eyes she focused on letting the 'wolf' out. A werewolf shifting wasnt usually pretty. The body completely changing tended to look grotesque but Aura's was worse. Way worse.

She whimpered in pain as the sounds of bones breaking and flesh tearing filled the little area they were in. Her body writhed in a way that was firmly unnatural, growing and splitting further into a monstrous large figure. Wolf-like, but it was more like a mass of partially or improperly formed limbs in addition to ones that seemed more robust than they should have. She had multiple heads but none had a full face without gaps or tendrils or weird flesh webbing. And then there were the long tendrils all over her but focused mostly towards her core- which was glowing as heat radiated out from inside her.

It was a fairly rapid but terrifying change to witness and then before Frysta was a wolf-eldritch abomination. Lopsided so that it was leaning too far to the right. And then Aura consciously grew yet another leg to add to the collection and achieve some kind of balance as she stood there. 10 feet tall and looking intently at Frysta, panting a little from the shifting.

Frysta nodded calmly and let Aura do her thing. He was quickly realizing that all his mental preparation for what he thought he was going to see was meaningless. He could only watch her as she went from her human self to this... he couldn't even really call it a creature. And Frysta had seen enough transformations to know sometimes they weren't pretty. But Aura's was like someone had glued a bunch of werewolves together then left it.

The transformation didn't even take long, but time had slowed. He was fixated on it, wondering just how far it was going to go. This creature was Aura, his best friend. He wasn't scared of her so much as just taken off guard, and trying so hard to process everything.

"I... wow. I thought I knew what to expect," he said as he approached. "Um... does it hurt to stay like that?"

Multiple sets of eyes, only some of them actually on a head-like portion of the body, were trained on Frysta. She'd steeled herself for a poor reaction even though she knew Frysta wasnt the kind of person to make a big deal out of it. Aura could see in his own eyes that he was struggling a little to make sense of it. Seeing a fairly cute girl suddenly become a huge horrible mass of misshapen wolf limb and tentacles will do that. Beholding the full or true form of an eldritch being was said to cause you to go mad, so seeing a tiny bit of one mixed up in her was bound to make things uncomfortable.

Aura key out a strange mixture of whining and growling at the same time and slowly found a way to lay down on the grass. It was important for her to hold this form until it seemed like things were ok.

She tried to reply but found her two-ish mouths both improperly formed enough to make that impossible. With another whine she lifted a massive clawed paw up to pull one of the heads out of the way so she could make a more functional mouth form in the gap between the two heads.

"N-not really. It always looks... broken... but it does not hurt," she growled out in a more intelligible voice. She felt really weird. Like she was some kind of specimen on display, just like she had felt back on the islets at first. But she swallowed that feeling. This was her choice and... it was ok to be, well, herself.

One of the tendrils reached out towards a nearby boulder and the tip became red hot as it dragged across the surface, scorching the stone in a random design.

"You dont have to come close. I just wanted... to try this..." The low growling voice did well to hide her insecure feelings but Frysta knew her well enough to see through that. It was a struggle to not just shift back or even just call it a day and run off.

Frysta paused, he didn't have to come close, no. His best friend was an assorted pile of wolf bits, and tendrils, and the reality of this was sinking in. He couldn't hide the fact that he was having trouble making heads or tails of her. But she was still her, and somewhere between his basic decency, and his draconic stubbornness he wasn't backing down.

"Aura, please," he said, moving to the rock she marked first, the dragon shifted an arm into its true form, heating a claw, and making an emblem next to hers. A show of solidarity. Then he sat down next to her.

"You're just fine. I..." he paused and considered his words. Then he smiled, and continued, "I'm glad you showed me. I'm really glad we decided to do this."

Understandably the whole thing gave him pause. She knew what she looked like. A monster. A creature that could only be meant for destruction and horror. But... she was still herself. Still that girl who just wanted her friends to be ok with her the way she was. Wolf monstrosities didn't cry, but if she had been in her other form she would have been. The stress of revealing this was fairly high even though it was just Frysta and happening in the middle of nowhere.

But he came closer, making a funny but heartwarming gesture of adding to her scribble upon the rock. Hers had been random and meaningless but his had been deliberate and poetic. Showing that he was right there with her and not fleeing. She felt the urge to wrap him in a hug at that moment but... well that was complicated and mildly terrifying. Instead she hesitantly, very hesitantly, lowered a small partially formed leg from around one of her shoulder joints to rest its two clawed paw on his shoulder and turned one of her partial heads to look at him.

"This was not your plan for today, I know. But... I don't know. I need this," her growls came from the mouth she'd made specifically for talking but another partially formed one moved too as if trying to speak as well. Her breath noticeably hot like standing near an oven as it was opened. She was so glad the heat couldn't hurt him.

"Now you know why... I keep this private. Not everyone can look past... this."

The more he thought about it, the more he realized how fine he was with this turn of events. The dragon realized just accepting what he was seeing as he saw it was the best way to process Aura's form. He reached up and gave the paw that was on his shoulder a little squeeze. The heat didn't even register to him as they sat.

"Sometimes going off script can be better. You know now for sure that there's at least one person who does see past your wolf form. I'll beat anyone up that gives you crap for it. But who would do that? You're really hot."

There was a moment of Frysta doing his best to maintain a serious face, but he couldn't help but laugh a little at his own joke.

Aura had to admit to herself that despite the awkward and unseemly nature of this form she did actually enjoy being able to just be in it. Like stretching your legs after sitting down all day. And she did actually stretch a little as she lay on the ground, enjoying the scents of the woods. And of Frysta too she supposed. He didnt smell like fear.

"I dont really want you to beat-," Aura's growls paused at the joke. Her immediate thought was a reminded that she was in fact the exact opposite of attractive at the moment in her mind. But she knew he'd been joking based on the actual heat she was giving off too.

So it took a noticeable moment before she responded, about the same time he was trying to keep up his serious face really.

As soon as Frysts started laughing Aura gave him a playful shove. Granted her strength in that form was enough to toss cars, but she was hoping to only push enough to move him and not hurt him.

"Dont make me toss you up into a tree," she joked as her glowing eyes squinted at him. Laughing was kind of hard to do as a wolf even without the particular struggles of her form. But behind the growling she didn't seem angry or upset. "I feel like moving around some," she added as she began riding to her feet again and shaking not unlike a grotesque version of a dog shaking themself.
