The tone change and the way her ears flattened told Stefan all he needed. He wasn't going to push the subject too much with how her response went. Baby steps first. He was still basically a stranger after all.
"Well you at least got a practice partner with me. Even if all I'm good for is fetching the ball for you."
Stefan gave a quick wink and made sure his voice was still light and playful. Kyo didn't seem like a bad kid. No where close to what he had been told. He was sure she had the capability to be, but this was Manta Carlos, everyone could be trouble if they wanted.

"I dunno about that." She gave him a cheeky grin, her ears perking back up once more. "You're more like a fixup job than a practice partner."
She changed to her human form, very ready to be back. She wasn't ashamed of her other form, but there were times when she just didn't want to think about it and all the different problems that it had caused for her.

Stefan's jaw dropped in fake disbelief as she changed back to her human form. He scoffed a bit and forced a laugh trying to play up the joke.
"Wow rude. Just because it's true doesn't mean you gotta call me out like that."
He finally shifted into a true chuckle as he shook his head. Stefan realized he wasn't that great, and if Kyo was joking around with him, then it meant she might be pretty comfortable with him.
"You'll have to meet my girlfriend one day. If you want to. Figured you might like her"

"You're not gonna get any better if I baby you. Or do you want me to tell your girlfriend you can't handle some rough coaching from a 10 year old?"
She was definitely feeling comfortable by now. She might not have understood what it was right away, but it was the first time someone had wanted to introduce her to another person. It helped her to feel like she wasn't some unwanted freak.

Stefan let out a loud laugh. He had been trained and raised by some of the fiercest Valkyries. He had been picked on, beat up, and nearly tortured by them to make him stronger. Zora had seen a glimpse of all of that.
"Please tell her that. I wanna see her reaction. I'd need a camera to capture it though."
A smile came to his face as he collected himself and shook his head.
"No you got a point coach."

"If you get better fast enough I won't need to say anything" She retorted with a smirk. Even with all the ways she'd been making fun of him, Kyo really was hopeful that she finally had someone to play the game with again. All it was going to take was a little bit of coaching.
"Really, though, if you wanna focus on anything you should try shooting from the same angle at different distances."

Stefan merely shook his head as she chided him. He was really taking this from someone so young. Well, what was he to do? Go off on a 10 year old? If he wanted to be an asshole maybe.
But that wasn't Stefan in the slightest. The son of the Goddess of Love had a tendency to care for everyone he met. It was just how he went about it.
"Looks like I got my work cut out for me coach. Same angle, different distances. Don't worry, I promise I'll practice."
And of course he would. It was who Stefan was.

She nodded to him with a smile. She could tell that he was going to take it seriously and, honestly, it's a lot more than she expected when she was first told about this whole set up. She had to think back to when she was first learning- to the first things her dad taught her.
"Okay, good! And whenever you feel like you've got one angle down just switch to another one. It's a lot harder than you'd expect to sink shots from the side compared to the front."

Stefan continued to listen carefully. It made sense that the sides would be more difficult, but that addition wasn't needed at the time. He already had enough to work on and still had plans with Zora and work with Wonderville, but the Demigod would find the time.
"Got it. When do you wanna meet up again to see how I'm progressing? Or do you wanna go do something else next time and give me plenty of time to practice?"
He was trying to give her options to see how she felt things went. It seemed to be good. By giving her something familiar, it was a safe fall back in case she didn't feel comfortable enough with him yet, but there was still the option to go and do anything she wanted to do. If she wanted him along for it.

"Um, I think maybe the same time in a week?" That was how long she'd been told was a good idea at first by her counselor. She figured that it sounded good enough. It would give her time to think about everything that came with trying to be open.
"I don't know about whether or not we should do the same thing. I don't want things to get boring."
