There it was. She was starting to open up some more. A hand came up to rub the back of his neck as he spoke.
"Yea? I've never been good at it. Maybe you could teach me? I'll teach you guitar and you teach me to shoot. Deal?"

He reached out with one hand in an offer to shake on the deal. It was also to see how Kyo would react to potential physical contact. Stefan hoped it wasn't too much. This was all very new to him too.

"You're bad at it? But you're tall." She asked with clear disbelief. She took a look down at his hand, thinking about it for a second before she grasped his hand and gave a very quick shake, pulling her own hand back just as fast as she'd extended it.

"I'm really good. I can even dunk on the big hoops."

Stefan had managed to not only get the shake, but also get her talking more. He chuckled a little when she mentioned he was tall so he should be good.
"I may be tall. But I can not shoot."
Kyo went on telling him how she could dunk even on the big hoops. Stefan's eyebrows raised in excitement and he smiled again.
"That's awesome. I bet it surprises a lot of people. Little trick play you can use against them."

Her smile faded a little at that. She didn't know if it would surprise people. She hadn't played with anyone else since she figured out how to do it.

"I dunno.. it would probably work I think" She replied, her ears dropping once again.

Right as he thought it was going well, Kyo seemed to pull back a little. Stefan might be able to salvage it and he had to try. She seemed like she wanted a friend but was just nervous.
"Then it'll be our secret till you can use it on someone. I can only imagine the look on their face."
Stefan chuckled a little bit trying to lighten the mood back up again.

She nodded, her ears perking back up again. She stood up off the couch, already looking to the door.
"Can we go to the gym now then?" She asked. It was clear she wanted to avoid thinking about the things that just wouldn't leave her alone. This was the perfect opportunity.

Stefan chuckled at how eager she was suddenly. He finished closing his guitar case up and picked it up. He nodded to Kyo with a smile.
"Sure. I think I'm ready to get embarrassed by you."
His voice was light and playful and coming closer to his usual now that she had opened up a bit more to him.
"You know where it is?"

She nodded. She used to come here a lot with her friends to play before... well, before.

"I can show you where it is" She said, reaching up to grab his jacket sleeve and insistently pulling him up from the couch to lead the way through the center and towards the gymnasium.

Stefan chuckled as he was pulled along. Kyo seemed really excited to go play basketball. Honestly he was looking forward to it too. It would be interesting to see what he might learn about her while playing, and what she might pull out of him as well.
"I'm coming, I'm coming."
Bringing his guitar along, he let Kyo lead them to the gym where a rolling rack of basketballs sat on the sideline just waiting to be used. He tucked his guitar up in a bleacher so an errant ball wouldn't smash into it. He took a bit longer than most would, making sure it was safe and secure before returning to the court.
"Alright. Show me what ya got."

She grabbed one of the balls out of the rack and bounced it a couple of times, making sure it was filled up properly.

"Okay, I'll prove I can dunk." She said with a nod, starting to properly dribble the ball before she took off down the court with it. She didn't seem any different from a regular kid- well, one who put a lot of effort into practicing- until she reached the three point line.

If he hadn't been paying close attention he would have missed it with how fast it happened. She lowered herself down to jump as a human and landed back underneath the hoop as a human, but leaving the ground she was anything but. As soon as she had bent her knees to jump she flash transformed, the ball that had barely seemed to fit in both hands now palmed in her gigantic left hand before she planted it through the hoop.
