All of this... College. None of it made sense. She had been here for three days now and still nothing made sense. The people, the academy, even the laws of nature here seemed backwards. Magic felt unnatural, like it was forced here by it's users. The customs were wrong, even her sister was different. There was a lot to take in and adapt to.
Luckily for Narraine, Aylin had already laid the ground work. The school knew how to handle Lamia, especially ones of larger size. That made things easier. She had even had a large meal which was something that greatly settled her nerves. (She hadn't eaten in almost 48 hours)
Now though it was nearly four in the afternoon, as she exited the school building for the courtyard out front. Students were walking back and forth in groups here and there, some carrying bags, others in groups and many on their phones. She hadn't learned much about phones yet, other than the fact that they allowed people the chance to talk over long distances. It was almost like magic, but here they called it cellular. She smiled as she thought about the word again. Cellular, like that's actually real.
Outside the sun was shinning rather nicely. Narraine had been wearing the school uniform, as for the time being that was one of the few outfits she actually owned. The kind lady in the administration building had given her a pair of them so that she could change if needed. The skirt itself was fairly short on her body, and it was all she could do to keep it low enough to prevent showing anything off. It wasn't that she minded, but she had been told that such public displays were frowned upon.
Needless to say she had some time to kill before she needed to report in to her dorm room, so Narraine figured that she might stretch out and soak up some of the sun. Being cold blooded meant that she needed the ambient warmth to keep going. Before she could however she caught sight of a woman not far off that caused her to stop all together. This beautiful woman had snow white hair and from what she could tell, blood red eyes. Narraine was spell bound and couldn't help but stare at her.
