She'd barely trained. She hadn't found anyone to practice with. She'd put no effort into trying to find a place she could spar. It was all just a big mess. Back in Russia, she wouldn't have gone more than two weeks without at least a few hours of training, but here... well, she hadn't done anything.

At the very least there was a gym on campus, although it was tucked in the far corner, inside the power building. It made sense - combat was part of power training for many. It wasn't for her (she got no power training at all), but when there was no class, one of the teachers had said she was free to use it.

So she did. She changed into a sports bra and running shorts, and then she'd headed to the gym. She took all her aggression out on a punching bag, and telling herself that she would definitely find a proper place to train soon. Just as soon as life stopped being so crazy.

Maybe.

She paid them no mind, finishing the set without a pause, and it was only as she moved onto another round with the punching bag that she felt the hairs on her neck rise.

Was someone watching her? She gave a quick sideways glance, finding that yes, yes someone was indeed watching her. The girl was about her age, or maybe a bit younger than her. She was also, without question, extremely fit.

Anastasia paused as she finished a set of punches, pulling back from the bag a bit and giving a more obvious glance towards her. A local? Or at least more local than Anastasia was. "Would you like a turn?" She could always pick something else, if she wanted the bag.

Perhaps it was transparent - in the way she punched, in the frustration of it, and perhaps even in the lack of finesse. She had trained at least every week before, and now she was rusty.

She wasn't the kind of person who usually opened up about things, but would it matter if she did about this? This was only a tiny nugget - not the full truth of things. It would hurt no one to admit it. "I haven't trained in a while. It's frustrating to give up my old school, knowing that I am unlikely to find a school that teaches Sambo here." And if they did, it would probably be bad.

Even in Russia, finding a proper Sambo school was hard. There were plenty that tried to cash in on the sambo name, but lacked any solid grounding.

"I suppose I should look around the island and find the best one." Although that seemed like a daunting task. The city was still a city, and who knew which would be the best. "I don't suppose you can recommend?" She probably could. Perhaps Anastasia was a bit too bitter and jaded, but her first thought was that the girl probably was part of a gym, and eager to recruit a new member.

Well, if it was actually good, easy enough. Anastasia would be saved from having to actually look for one.

"If you have the adress, I should be able to find it." She was pretty good at navigating, and it would give her a better idea of the underground, where she'd explored less. "I assume you go there?" Safe assumption, and she'd already decided the best way to see if the gym was any good.
