Manta Carlos Police Department

The Manta Carlos Police Station is located at an intersection from Downtown Manta Carlos and the city. It’s a large three-story grey and blue brick building surrounded by patrol cars with a dangling plastic sign aptly labeled “Manta Carlos Police Department.” The Station is open to civilians from 9am – 10pm, but there is always someone on the line in case of police emergencies.

The building’s base is simple concrete but there are heavy wards put in place that prevent it from being destroyed physically or by magic. All windows are tightly locked at night. The glass can’t be broken.

The ground floor is the entrance to the police station. It’s the floor civilians are allowed to report incidents, handle processing or simply roam around during tours. There is the front office and the reception which are right next to the community policing area. Behind it is the community room, and right next to that is the communication center where they handle calls. There are also holding cells for captured criminals, separating adults from juveniles. Aside from the offices, there are standard rooms like bathrooms and a kitchenette with a coffee maker.

The second floor are the offices. There’s the Captain's office, Sergeant's office and, the biggest of them all, the Chief of Police’s office. There’s also the Investigative Division’s office where the detectives handle the cases, sitting right next to the Interview and Interrogation rooms. The difference between the Interview and Interrogation room is that the Interview room is a lot cozier with couches and windows, while the Interrogation room is cold, hard metal with a table, two chairs, a dim light and a two-way mirror. They also have the Patrol Squad room and the Computer room up here.

On the third floor, we have the armory, and behind them, the records, evidence storage and files. Unlike most police stations in the world, there are special weapons to subdue powerful criminals such as stun guns, magic negating nets and armor-piercing ammo. The third floor has the most sensitive materials, and as such, is the most heavily guarded area. There are both physical and digital recordings of the files. Technomancers have put up a strong firewall that prevent people from hacking into the mainframe. There are trips and alarms that would alert all police officers if the rooms or the locked cabinets were ever forcefully opened.

Below the police station is the basement, and it’s the designated police lounge. There’s a break room, a kitchenette, a fitness center, the men and women’s locker room, showers, bathrooms and the like. There is a door here that leads to the parking lot outside.

Manta Carlos’ police officers are highly trained and competent. They are all handsomely paid for their services.

911 Therapy Pets by @Ghost

911 Therapy Pets is run by volunteers from Manta Carlos’s police department, hospital, and fire department. The animals mostly consist of retired police dogs and rescued kittens that became very fond of the officers that rescued them, however a few other kinds of pets that were rescued from bad homes have also been trained to become a therapy animal, including rabbits, a parrot and a trio of turtles. Most of the animals reside with volunteers who have legally adopted them, however there are a small number cats who have made a permanent residence inside the offices of MCPD detectives. Their daily duties include: pestering humans for treats, visiting trauma patients in the hospital, visits to the school dorms and cafeteria, house calls, sleeping under desks and on keyboards, visiting stressed human co-workers, and play time during coffee breaks. They are all calm, loving animals that are devoted to their job, and couldn’t ask for a better home.
