APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION
<br>- HAIR::Medium in lenght, it is not long enough to be tied back, but it is neither exactly short either. It looks rought to the eye, and considering that he actually doesn't do anything to take care of it properly, is a bit rought to the touch as well. His natural colour is a neutral shade of brown which he had gotten from his mother. However, because of the amount of the time he had spent outside in the sun, his actual colour right now is a weird mix of much ligter browns and very dark blonds.
<br> - FACE: He has a rough, serious looking face as well, with strong jaw and clear, sharped features. Sometimes, when he forgets to shave, he gets light stubble as well
<br> - EYE COLOUR: Amber
<br> - SKIN TONE:Originally he had a light skin tone, however, once again, because of the amount he had spent outside, working or running in the Sun, his skin is now almost permanently tanned
<br> - BODY TYPE: Tall, with a strong, muscular build, but not overly so
<br> - CLOTHES: He prefers comfortable and practical clothing to oeverything else for day to day activities (and even dates, when he can get away with it). This, however, doesn't mean he can't dress up when he has to, he just preferes not to as he is not used to it and thus doesn't like it much
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
<br>- Like his hair, Lionel's personality is a weird mix of his mother’s practical, pragmatic, scientific attitude and his father’s artistic talent and eye, as well as his open and friendly view of the world
<br> - This means that on one side Lionel's is a very practical person. He takes every task he is given seriously. He starts looking for a solution the minute he is faced with a problem, and the solutions he does find are always of the most practical, pragmatical, logical kind.
<br> - On the other side, however, he is quite open and friendly towards people and in no way a stick in the mud. Once all of his tasks are done and all of the solutions found and applied, having yield as always, fast and precise results, he immediately relaxes and is actually quite fun to be around. He enjoys being a centre of attention and entertaining his friends by sharing unusual stories of his childhood. Some of this is because of the passive part of his powers, but only some. Lionel actually does enjoy people and being around them even without that
<br> - Like his parents, he is in love with nature and any and all animal, especially the big cats his mother works with. Among the big cats, however, he feels especially close to lions, having spent several years before coming to the Island in the Lion Rescue Centre his mother was working in
<br> - Despite this, however, he never felt the pull his mother feels towards science and has instead chose to follow in his father's footsteps and study to become a professional photographer, though the ways he and his father take to and express their artistic nature through photography aren't all that similar
<br> - He had, however, missed actually working with the cats while he was away from his mother's work place(s) and has thus gladly grabbed on the opportunity of working in the Circus (though he had not initially intended to become a lion tamer and was pulled into it by the Ringmaster because it seemed like he would be good at it. He is not about to complain about it though as he ended up liking it quite a bit)
<br> - As far as his powers go, he cannot help his passive talent which is almost always active, but does not actually like prying into peoples heads, or ordering them to do something. He will occasionally however read the general mood of the crowd during the show
<br> - Long story short, he is both serious and friendly, is scarily good with people sometimes because of his passive powers, though he does not like actively using them except for shows, is incredibly in love with big cats, especially lions
POWERS:
TELEPATHY WITH A MILD FORM OF MIND CONTROL
What that actually means is that:
<br>- like all people with telepathic abilities Lionel is able to 'enter' peoples' minds and read their thoughts. What this actually means, once again, is that he will sometimes get random flashes from the minds of the people around him where he is not consciously focusing on keeping them out. He has become quite good at this since coming to the Academy but can still occasionally make a mistake. When he is actually trying to read somebody's mind, it can be either in the worm of words or images/memories depending how deep into their mind he goes and what the person is thinking about. If he wants to go very deep into somebody's mind, he has to focus on them personally and actually form eye contact. His readings aren't always clear because people's minds are usually very confusing as people tend to think on several planes of consciousness at once. His abilities can be blocked by either artificial or natural ability blockers. A mind can also be trained to form natural protection in the form of 'walls' but he can get through those in 7 out of 10 cases if he focuses really hard. Usually however, he avoids using his ability actively as much as he can, so this is not really a problem.
<br> - As much as he doesn't like to use his power actively however, there is a part of it that is passive and he cant help it. What this means is that, basically, he is always reading people, though it is just the very surface of their thoughts. When he doesn't focus on this information, however, or just blocks it out instead, it is not processed by his conscious mind, so he doesn't know what the other person is thinking, but his instincts and gut feelings are more precise then most. This makes him very good at dealing with people.
<br> - The other active part of his power is something he likes even less and thus uses it even less. It is basically extorting his influence over other minds by leaving suggestions in them once he had 'entered' them. With this he can make people do or say or feel certain things and later when questioned they would not know why they had done that/would not remember saying those certain things/etc. Basically it is mind control as described in the movies. He has not trained this ability however, so it is mostly weak. He can not order people to do things such as hurt/kill others or themselves or any such similar things. And even if he could, he wouldn't. He hates using this on other people, and he only uses this power when working with animals to sooth them when they are angry/uncooperative and when he is doing his act in the Circus
BIOGRAPHY:
<br>- Lionel was born in England while his parents were still young, in college, and definitely not married
<br> - They, however, had not let this stop them from achieving their goals. They have both graduated on the top of their respective classes and soon got good, well paying jobs in their intended fields
<br> - However, this mean they would travel a lot , often in completely opposite directions of each other. For a little while they were unsure what this meant for their family and have even talked of breaking up.
<br> - Instead, however, they got married. They loved each other and their son too much to let something like distance separate them
<br> - This is how Lionel ended up travelling the world quite a lot so his time would be equally spent between his parents and their jobs.
<br> - Because of this he had been home schooled prior to coming to the Academy
<br> - His parents also made sure to spend quality time together as a family at least three or four times a year, around the time of the big holidays such as Christmas and New Year if they cold. Often they couldn't though, but Lionel didn't exactly mind
<br> - Due to growing up like this Lionel fell in love both with photography and the big cats his mother worked with as a scientist and he actively sought out ways to help them with their work no matter who he was with at the time
<br> - As for his powers, he always had his passive abilities which made him good with people, but his active powers started developing sometime around his 15th birthday.
<br> - Around that time he started hearing this buzzing which he initially thought was only in his head (and it was, in a way) before it developed in actually getting flashes of people's thoughts. This confused him, but he told no one about it, thinking he was just imagining it. The first time he went deeper in somebody's mind was about a year latter. He was having a staring contest with one of the lion's at the Research center and was suddenly transported into the cat's mind.
[<br>*]His invite to the Academy came half a year after that when he started accidentally leaving 'suggestions' in the minds of both people and animals. Nobody got hurt because of this, though, as most of his 'suggestions' were quite innocent, either 'Can I just stay here for a few more minutes?' to people and 'Sit down and be good' to cats
<br> - He had no problems moving to the Academy once the letter came as he realised how dangerous his powers could be. Once he was there he immediately looked for a way to block out and master his powers
<br> - Currently he is in his Senior year at college and working at Midnight Circus as Lion Tamer

<br>- 'Lion' is a nickname given to him both by his mother's and his father's co-workers both because of the way he looks (strong build, hair like lion's mane) and his obsession with the said cats
