Marina wasn't the Queen of Starlight because she was nice.

No, Marina was Queen because she knew how to put on a show. The students tend to treat cheerleading practice as a big, school-wide event with boys lining up in the bleachers... and why not? Marina had a team of notoriously beautiful and extremely nimble girls in short skirts in her squad, but the biggest prize of them all was her. It was obvious that Marina led her girls through everything, from sports events to international competitions. She was as beautiful as she was capable.

They were preparing for the big club event next month, and Marina made sure their routine wasn't going to be any less than outright spectacular. They were practicing for the middle part of the song, which was the hardest because of the stunts she had to pull. The people in the crowd watched, wondering if she could pull this off.

She could. Oh, she could.

Marina hopped onto her girls' ten digits. They threw her up in the sky. Marina did a flip — one, two and three — before four of her girls caught her body and threw her backwards. She reacted almost instantly, doing four somersaults before catching pompoms headed right at her.

The spectators cheered.

Marina's heart was ringing so hard she could hear it in her ears. Two of her girls ran up to her and gave her a victory hug and a towel. Now that the adrenaline was slowing down, Marina told the girls that was it for the day and sat down at the bleachers. All this training was starting to wear down on her. At least they said the new football players were coming in today~

Marina and her friends observed the new recruits from the bleachers. They were rating them from 'bleh' to 'totally hot'. Each of them had their sights set on a few new recruits, assuming they get in. Marina liked that redhead with the demon horns, Andrews, or maybe Jacobson, but all of them were cute in their own way.

Her opinion changed when the tryouts started. There was an obvious star of the show — Kellam, the albino-looking guy. He wasn't that much to look at. It was his personality that stood out. He was a leader that led by example, and he had a killer smile. The finishing touchdown only confirmed it to her.

She needed to get to know him.

He looked like he was heading for the water jug, so Marina skillfully made her way there, filling one of the plastic cups with water. She walked up to him with the cup and a towel, and a killer smile that could match his own. There was no way he'd be able to resist that.

"Hey, pretty boy. Good game out there."

Oh, he didn't need to be humble. Everyone here knew he was the star of the show. Without the star, the team would've flopped. Marina understood the feeling, because she was the star of the cheerleaders too.

He was a lot more friendly up close, and she liked that. She really, really liked that.

She latched herself onto his arm, squeezing the nice, tight muscles there playfully. "Marina Bellamy. Captain of the Cheerleading Squad." She winked. No need to bring up the fact that she was also the Vice-President of the Student Council early — he didn't need to be intimidated so early on. "It's a real pleasure to meet you too, Kellam. You know, the Coach is usually a hardass with football tryouts, but I'm sure you'll make the cut. Are you new here in Starlight? I don't think I've seen you around before."

Marina jumped and clapped her hands together when the coach declared that Kellam was officially a member of the football team. They were more or less in the same social standing now which was an absolute relief. She wouldn't want to pursue a social reject no matter how cute they were.

"Just go easy on him, will you Marina? He's got some good talent there."

"You know I always take good care of your boys, coach." She winked at the team coach and he let out a little laugh. Good old Marina. The conversation was then moved to the poor kid from earlier. It was so sweet that he'd even ask about him.

(Sweet? What, was she getting soft?)

"Wow, how about that? Looks like you'll be coming to all my games now!"

"Well, how about that," she repeated, grinning from ear to ear. She looked away and twirled a lock of her hair with her finger, though her smile suggested she was just being coy. "You know, Kellam, I happen to know a lot about the sports clubs in SA. I can show you around. Introduce you to the coaches. They love me, you know, I always keep the team spirit~"

Go Razorhawks.

She squeezed his arm and moved closer, flashing him a winning smile. "What do you say? Are you up for some one on one time with Marina~?" She winked.
