[ Hari Takahiro ]
Hari was all nerves.
People usually made him nervous in general, but Professor Watanabe was a whole different caliber of intimidating. He didn't give off a very hostile vibe in person. In fact, he was charmingly polite. Hari's problem was that Professor Watanabe was a mind leagues more refined than his.
He'd read his incredible papers, and he attended some of his classes as a spectator and found he was just as brilliant in person. Magistrar Octain was just as competent as he was but... the prospect of studying under Octain wasn't something Hari could stomach at all. Professor Watanabe was tamer, someone that gave off a presence that was easier to trust, and Hari was interested in the spells' magical history and the theoretical aspect of his lessons as much as the practical applications.
Still, that only made it comparatively easier. He set a day aside to finally visit Professor Watanabe's office, and the day before it, he nervously cooked up a bento for him and obsessively read his papers just in case. Hari was new at this whole magic business, but he wanted to show Professor Watanabe that his lack of experience could be made up for with earnest enthusiasm.
Fast forward on the day set, eleven o' clock, outside Professor Watanabe's office. Hari was pretty certain he wore too much jewelry for this, and his hair could not be braided cleaner or tighter. He kept the lunch in a neat wrap in his backpack, took a deep breath and knocked.
"Mr. Watanabe?"
