Name: Felicity Bernadette Chevalier (Felicity)
Age: 33
Birthday: November 21
Gender: Female
Category: Teacher: English, can also teach illusion magic
Appearance Description:
The unique part of Felicity's appearance is that it is never quite the same. A side effect of her powers is that she can change her appearance at will, as long as it is roughly the same size and mass as her original self. For example, she may be able to take on the persona of a man, but she will be shorter than normal, and at close scrutiny is quite obvious she isn't of the correct stature. Over her years, she has changed appearance so many times for so many different reasons that she often finds herself forgetful of what she originally looked like.
Her default persona amongst magical company is of a young woman, perhaps in her mid 20s, with long silver hair and bright blue eyes, almost bordering on turquoise. She's slim and fit, though her actual shape is up to debate. She has fair skin that burns easily, and even if she can overwrite the appearance of a sunburn, the effect still lingers. When asked, she will deny ever having any sort of boring, earthly appearance at any time.
Actual biometrics:
Height average: 5'8"
Weight average: 120-140lbs

Typical outfits include fairly preppy college attire, such as button-up shirts, sweaters, and slacks. Most are very expensive designer styles. She occasionally wears skirts, but not often. When specifically expecting to do street magic, she'll wear a vest instead of a sweater, to exude the appearance more of a magician.
Personality Description: Felicity could be evaluated as a pathological liar, though she merely describes it as a careful reluctance to trust. Having grown up in abject poverty, she found that making her way to survive was the absolute most important priority. Her morality could be lacking, and she has a disturbing lack of ethics in regards to other people's property. She is very sociable, and is particularly good at tricking or otherwise persuading mundane people into either giving her things or doing what she wants. Despite her sociability, she keeps a healthy distance between herself and other people and avoids close relationships.
Powers:
Illusion magic: Felicity's primary powers come in the form of her magical ability, and specifically her specialization in illusion magics. As a sorceress as opposed to a wizard, her powers are innate and have been developed ad hoc since her childhood through practice and self-discovery. She can memorize magic without the need for a spell book or grimoire, though consistently has difficulty learning other types, and is never as good at other things as she is at illusory magic. She can change her appearance, change the appearances of things near her permanently as long as she is present, and change things that she leaves alone for a temporary amount of time, usually at max for a few hours, though it depends on the size and complexity of the object. Invisibility is also an option, though it is only visual.
She has trained herself to use these powers in an offensive way as well. Most of this involves manipulating the senses of a target to impair or otherwise disable them. She can specifically target and choose who is at the receiving end of these talents, and the most dangerous and damaging of them includes psychologically using a target's fears and nightmares to drive them temporarily insane. Without calling upon some other sort of magic, however, she is woefully inadequate at actually physically harming other people.
On the contrary, she can use these same abilities to calm and console other people, by conjuring good and pleasant thoughts.
In the past, she used a mixture of these to influence and persuade people, and that is her primary experience in using these powers.
Biography:
Félicité was born in Corbeil-Essonnes, Paris, France to a family well below the poverty line. She was the middle of eventually five children, two of which she does not know personally and the other two went on to be more successful than their forebears. As they are not magical like her, she keeps little contact with them beyond minor written letters. Her youth was mostly deprived of comfort, living in a small one bedroom apartment with her siblings and parents, and as soon as she was old enough she spent most of her time outside on the streets. As young as 5 she could remember being able to manipulate her powers in special ways, and as young as 6 she remembers understanding that it wasn't normal in her environment. As a way of creating a cover for her powers so that she could practice them, she gained a vested interest in stage magic at a very young age, becoming very talented at doing all sorts of simple tricks both with and without the aide of her magic.
She could wow people and make friends easily by showing them her stage magic. She used all sorts of known tricks, as well as tricks of her own design. People would naturally come to like her because she was very good at rapport and could make her way out of most dangerous situations by convincing any potential bullies that she may encounter. She made friends mostly to get out of her home, which was overcrowded and had a particular lack of food. She would use friends as a way to enjoy her days, and get free dinners from their families. Whether it was her friends' parents pitying her or not didn't bother her; she got many a full meal from her wealthier companions.
By Felicity's teen years she had grown to be an exceptional pupil at school, as well. Although she could easily cheat using her magic, and did on some occasions, she found that school studies came naturally to her. Combined with spending less time on the typical time wasters most children had, she had plenty of time to work on school and had no problem keeping a 4.0 average.
At 15, she had her first boyfriend. He was a year older than her, and in similar conditions; abject poverty and a rowdy home life. She had so much in common with him that she felt a growing connection and, for a time, was with him at almost all hours. He coped with his situation differently than she did; he scammed and stole his way to survival, and she was open to the idea. He began to teach her his techniques, ways to con people into giving large sums of money and getting away with it, street tricks that were unwinnable, and how to break into buildings without leaving a trace of entry. She enjoyed solving closed room puzzles, and studied famous mystery writers to develop her understanding of the space and concept of buildings and the tricks behind them. She learned to pick just about every type of lock there is with both professional and amateur tools, developed her fitness and became good at both climbing and running away. Especially the latter. She also developed her sleight of hand to near perfect levels.
A year into their relationship, she was better than he was. Her magic let her be more creative than him, and let her do things that he couldn't, like hide in plain sight. On their first anniversary, Felicity told him about her strangeness. At first he thought it was a joke, but she promptly proved it. He was surprised, but their relationship had already grown so deep that he didn't ostracize her for it. After explaining how she could help them so immensely with her powers, he slowly came to understand what she meant. They could do even more elaborate things with her talents, and they spent the whole night discussing ideas.
It didn't take long for bank heists to be on the table. Their first attempt, using some elaborate and well planned out schemes and magic, was a success. They made off with a few thousand euros at most, but the test was amazing. Her boyfriend was completely invested and on board with the idea of them using her powers to make them rich. They hid the money, then spent their days doing street magic. They began to gather great crowds, as Felicity's magic was- frankly- cheating, and even local mundane magicians had a hard time understanding how she could do certain tricks. At night, they would rent an apartment with their earnings, and discuss what their next big heist would be. They were young, and had a very dramatic, movie-like concept of what stealing would be like. They imagined Bonnie and Clyde, Butch Cassidy, Ocean's Eleven, Reservoir Dogs- and designed their heists as so.
As soon as they had enough money, they ran away from Paris, leaving everything behind. She, at least, wanted to continue her education, though her boyfriend wanted nothing to do with school. They traveled, doing magic and theft along the way, eventually ending up in Nice where Felicity forced him to stop so she could finish her terminale year of lycée to get her baccalauréat.
They did other smaller jobs as they learned and as Felicity finished her schooling. By the time they were 18, they had over 200,000 euros deposited in a bank account in Monaco. Felicity wanted to go to America to a university there, as her outstanding grades in lycée and on standardized tests let her get a scholarship at just about anywhere she wanted. Even without it, they could clearly afford whatever she wanted. He agreed, but on one condition; they do one last shabang in France.
After months of preparation, they struck the Banque de France. By a mixture of luck, skill, and magic, they made off with several million euros. They divided it up and put it in different banks, transferring it through several accounts to hide their tracks. Even with her magic, they could only stay anonymous for so long. She demanded they leave for America immediately, and he obliged.
They booked a small private jet to get them there without going through any large company. 'We can take different jets,' he said, 'so that they don't find us.'. In her naivete, Felicity didn't expect what was coming.
In New York City, she was alone. She couldn't find him, and all her contacts to the banks they had gone through had disappeared. She had no idea where he had gone, but for at least a while she felt optimistic. Perhaps he had just ended up somewhere else. Their phones wouldn't work here, they didn't have international connections. He would find her, and then they could continue. Now that they were set, she wanted to marry him. She loved him. They could live in luxury for the rest of their lives. If they needed more money, they could just steal more any time they wanted.
Two months later, there was nothing. She made her way as she always had, performing street magic. Her powers garnered attention and in the massive crowds of NYC, and she could make a decent income doing that alone. In her deep depression, she had completely forgotten about her aspirations of university. Her nights were filled with confusion. They had been together so long. How could he just abandon her? Was it just the money he wanted? Had she misjudged him? She went over the questions again and again and could never come up with a satisfactory answer to herself. Eventually, she gave up trying to understand.
She staged her own heists, and slowly began to try making her money back. She contacted the scholarship institutions and managed to get a few contracts so that she could get started, and enrolled at Harvard, majoring in English. She excelled in her studies, and did petty theft and street magic on the side to pay for tuition that wasn't covered by her scholarships and any additional expenses she may have incurred. She began to try and learn her magic powers further, spending more time than ever mastering them and learning their limits and uses. Her time at Harvard was normal- she was a good student, she didn't cause any trouble, and she had good relationships with her professors and the rest of the faculty. While perhaps not exceptional, she made progress in her major as anyone else did. There was always this nagging in her mind, however; her disappointment in her lover, the lies and more from that time, and she never quite got over it or could explain to herself what had happened. She blamed herself for being naive, and for any other number of reasons.
Felicity got her master's before long, and started working on a teaching degree. However, her teen years had come back to her; a man came to her and started discussing her heists. It seemed like he knew so many things about her, and even as she fervently denied any knowledge of them, she could feel the heat bearing down like a Sahara summer. When he revealed himself as a magic user as well, she was surprised, as her boyfriend had been so long ago. She hadn't met anyone else who shared her talents. She didn't know that there even were other people like her. He offered her a deal; she would either come with him to some hidden place with other strange people like her, or he would turn her in, with all the evidence. Rather than suffer an eternity in prison, even if she could easily escape, she agreed. Perhaps that place would be better for her, anyway. A life of the mundane had truly never been for her.
So, reading the welcome letter, she arrived in Manta Carlos.
