==> Allan

Allan heaved a long sigh as he leaned his back into the wall. All he had been doing the whole day was filling up forms, getting signatures and basically doing everything it takes to getting his admission over with. What was worse was that he had to dive into large crowds of students walking about to their own classes or something.

Maybe it would have been better to have waited out for the current semester to end... or the whole year perhaps. Rather than transferring to another school in the middle of the semester; this probably wasn't such a good idea.

He felt out of place. He was new and there was no familiar face in the island to be found. He made a ball shape with his hands and held it close to his mouth , trying to calm his breathing. This was a time a bit too late to panic. For one thing, he's already finished all his paperwork. There was nothing to worry about anymore.

Except of course, his first class the following day.

But it wasn't going to be that bad, isn't it? All he just needs to do is walk in the classroom full of strangers and... basically blend in. He's very sure he won't have to go through having to stand in the middle of the class and introduce himself all formally now, right? That's way too elementary. Then again, transferees in his old high school did that.

But this is college. What should he still be afraid of? That and he's also 21, this should be child's play. At least that's what his friends always told him. Heaving another heavy sigh, he realizes he's standing by the hallway. He didn't need to look up to know there were people around. At least, as far as he could tell, none of the people walking by even minded him... "..Hopefully."

Gabriel had, as usual, failed to turn in one of his assignments on time and the teacher had eventually gotten fed up of reminding him about it. He'd been instructed to hand it into the office once he was finished with it, and so that was the reason the angel was here only about two months later. "I hope they hurry up, " Gabe absolutely hated waiting, especially when he had nobody to talk to. He liked to chat, even if it wasn't about anything important. Poor Gabe also tended to have a hard time focusing on one thing for any long length of time, and this often caused him to feel extremely bored.

"This is so fucking boring, " The man muttered to himself, whoever was in the office was taking a hell of a long time. He was half tempted to leave his work outside the door, but he knew that if it got misplaced no one would believe he'd handed it in, in the first place, and he'd have to do the whole assignment over again. No thanks.

Allan just stood where he was for a while longer, heavily contemplating his decisions and asking himself why he always had such horrible choices. There are other things he could have done before grabbing onto that chance to go to a school where he could finally get help about his power. But then here he is, standing outside the admissions office and pondering on his life choices when he should have been at his dorm fixing his room and unpacking.

As if the thought just smacked him back to reality, Allan scrambled to gather his things--his bag and all the papers he kept in a folder he had been holding on to since that morning, he immediately turned around and walked off.

His eyes were glued to the floor, sure to avoid getting any eye contact with the other students and staff, that he wouldn't have seen the person that was in front of him until he bumped into them.

Dropping a couple of sets of papers to the floor, Allan instinctively took a step back in defense, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't see you there..!" he stammered, his voice was soft and shaky, before he sort of.. half-hopped to get the papers that had fallen on the floor. Standing right back up, he repeated, "I-I wasn't looking where I was g-going..!" he said timidly, catching a glimpse of the person he had just run into. For a moment, he paused to notice the appendages that protruded from the back of the person before of him, "...Wings?" he wondered.

Meanwhile Gabe's thoughts had wandered elsewhere, namely to the gutter, and he barely even registered that there was anyone else in the room. That was until he got slammed back into reality, "Jesus! Watch where you're going next time, dude." He returned, but he bent down and picked up a sheet that the other man had missed. He handed it to him without saying a word. He wondered briefly why the stranger had so many papers anyway, he couldn't remember having to sign that many things.

"Yeah, " Gabe nodded, as the other man questioned the giant feathery white wings that protruded out of his back. He hadn't been bothered to strap them down today, which explained why he was shirtless too. He wasn't sure if wanted to elaborate or not, as he didn't know this boy at all but there probably wasn't all that much harm that could come of it. "Side effect of being an angel. " He waited to see what kind of reaction he'd get to that.

Allan nearly stumbled with the folder he held in his hands as the other student handed him another sheet he had missed due to him being a bit panicked. But at the mention of 'angel', the boy looked up at him in wonder. He could easily ignore the fact he was shirtless — considering the majority of the older males from his town could be seen shirtless because of the never-ending heat — but the fact that the man before him was apparently an angel was something to be in awe.

But maybe he was assuming things. He grew up with a religious family, maybe he could be mistaken by the kind of angel the student was. "...I've never seen an... angel before..." he muttered quietly, almost under his breath. Upon realizing he'd been looking at the guy a little too longer than comfortable, he turned his gaze down to the floor again.

"Ah... What's an angel even doing here?" he asked, his voice only a fraction louder than earlier. He immediately noticed that the way he had said it sounded a bit condescending, so he added, "I-I mean... I'm just curious... and all..."

Gabe laughed softly at the boy's apparent awe. On one level he didn't really understand why the mention of angel had caused that much of a reaction, but on the other hand he supposed he got it. "Bet you'll never meet another Jewish angel either. " He hadn't met any other Jewish angels at least, hell he hadn't really met any other angels unless you counted the first few minutes after he came back to life when he met with the archangels.

This other man appeared to be extremely shy, at least from the way he kept looking down to his feet after a couple moments of eye contact and he kept stammering too. "Well I wasn't an angel when I first got here, " Gabe began, "but that's probably a story for another day. " He shrugged, "there are all sorts of unbelievable species around here though, man. You're gonna have to get used to it. " The angel hadn't intended to sound rude with that, nor did he realise it sounded a bit blunt.

Allan let out a timid chuckle at this. Considering its been over 20 years he's walked the earth and this was the first time for him to meet an actual angel, he'd guess it would take him another two decades to meet any other angel. Unless they actually came in groups, then he'll start to worry. As far as his parents had told him, angels were guides to those who'll go to heaven upon their deaths.

He didn't look up but his thoughts were still present for the moment at least. Though he still wondered why there was an angel here. For a moment he even though that the angel being here meant that he was going to be guided to the afterlife soon until the man continued to speak.

Allan laughed wryly, "Ah.. would that mean that.. you had unfinished business here... or something important like that?" he asked, "N-not to intrude or anything...! And ahh... I guess you're right, I mean... this school is... pretty unreal as it is, and if there are vampires here then I should probably just start seeing that as... normal." he continued, his voice only growing smaller as he finished his sentence, followed by a nervous laugh.

'Ah.. would that mean that.. you had unfinished business here... or something important like that?' The other man asked, and Gabriel nodded. "Yeah, I suppose you could call it that. " It had been explained to him, after he'd come back, that the reason they'd brought him back was because he hadn't fulfilled everything they'd wanted him to do while he was alive. "There's...things...I still have to do. " The truth was the reason the angel had been brought back was to look out for his boyfriend, but that sounded almost unbelieveable and ridiculously corny so he wasn't going to admit that to someone he just met. In fact the only person he'd ever admitted it to was William and he'd only laughed at Gabriel and told him to stop telling tall tales.

"Maybe try avoid the vampires though, " Gabe laughed softly, "don't wanna end up as their food, eh?" He personally would be of no use to the vampires, as anything that was considered holy would probably harm them. Gabe almost found it funny at times how he was an angel, considering he'd never been the most religious of people... no matter how much his mother had objected to that. Sure, he had his beliefs, but he never went out of his way to pray or attend the synagogue.

Allan hummed in thought. He was curious as to why the angel was here, but there was no point in mulling about it, was there? Unless of course he asked, but Allan thought that if it was personal, then the angel wouldn't disclose it either way. After all, Allan was still a stranger.

All Allan could do was theorize. The first possibility he could think of was that he could have came back for someone? To watch over them maybe. For their own good, or to judge them when their time comes. The latter was a little scary to think about. Allan's heard so much from his parents about all these religious things he might as well become a priest or something.

'Maybe try avoid the vampires though; don't wanna end up as their food, eh?' The other man told Allan. Allan another awkward chuckle, "Ahh... right. Of course. But.. I'm sure there should probably be a rule about... feeding on other students, shouldn't there?" he said, slightly in jest. He hoped there was. He had intended his mention of vampires as a joke but the angel just confirmed it with his words. Allan had something to worry about.

Realizing he might have been stalling this person from... whatever he was doing, Allan took another step back. "Oh-! Uh.. I-I hope I'm interrupting you from anything, b-by the way.. I'm just not very... gung-ho about transferring and stuff since I... just got here..." he said, scratching the back of his neck.

"Yeah, I'm sure there is but I dunno dude, as they say rules are made to be broken, " Gabe wasn't being entirely serious, and upon seeing the other man's face he realised that he didn't realise the angel was teasing him. "I'm just screwing with you,...? He trailed off realising he didn't know the stranger's name. "no one's gonna come and eat you. " He laughed softly, it was an unlikely event anyway, but he supposed it wasn't entirely impossible. Best to keep that thought to yourself.

"Nah, you're not. " Gabe assured Allan. "I'm waiting to drop this into the office, " he glanced towards it, seemed whoever was in there had no problem about taking their time. "Somebody seems to have mistaken it for their living room. It's like they're never gonna come out. " He rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah? Why'd you decide to come here? " He usually didn't really care all that much about what other people's stories were but he was bored and this'd take his mind off waiting at least for another couple of minutes.
