Feeling herself being transported back made Ania terrified; She wasn't quite sure what was happening or if this was even supposed to happen. All at once, the odd feeling stopped, only to be replaced with a horrible knotting sensation in her stomach. In her discomfort, Ania pressed her body closer into Hadrian's and began to make a steady high-pitched keening noise into his shirt. She was disoriented, sick, and more than a little confused. Hoping that keeping her face pressed to his chest would fix things, Ania didn't really care to try to stand on her own. She knew she was being awfully dependent, but he did say he didn't mind looking after her.

After a few uncertain moments, Ania finally quieted and relaxed her grip. The pain in her stomach was still coming in sharp waves, but it felt like it had begun to recede. She was still unwilling to let go completely, but she didn't feel the need to stand so very close anymore. She hoped she wasn't making him too uncomfortable, and shuffled a little distance between then. "Ah. I don't think I liked that." Trembling a bit, Ania slowly released Hadrian's waist and opted to latch onto his hand. Placing a steadying hand on her stomach, she wondered if this was a side effect of the traveling. "O-okay. I think I'm ... Okay. Maybe. Clothes?"

<div align=center>Hadrian felt a wave of guilt flood over him, poor Ania looked quite so distressed that he held her close for a moment or two, absently stroking the top of her head. Maybe he could find her something to drink once they'd changed clothes, it would do them good to be inconspicuous, they were perhaps at high risk of being fed to a lion dressed like this. He carefully ushered her into a small, dusty alley close to them, they could wait it out until she felt better, he wouldn't make her go anywhere until she didn't feel so sick. "You okay?" He asked her, crouching a short way so he was level with her, "we can stay here until you feel better, alright?" There'd be a fountain somewhere where they could find a drink, there'd be a shop nearby where he'd be able to buy a stola for Ania and... He was not wearing a toga. Especially not in front of her. There were other options, at least.

It'd been a long while since he'd been here, he'd forgotten how hot it was. The boy could feel sweat beading on his forehead already, he lifted an arm and wiped it away with his sleeve. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, frowning just a little. "It'll pass," he promised, he hoped it would at least, it wouldn't be much fun for her otherwise. He wove his fingers through hers, "clothes," he confirmed, "what's your favourite color?"</div>

Being herded into a little alley confused her for a moment until she realised that it was probably not a good idea to sit out in the open with these clothes. "I'm sorry ... I'll try to feel better faster!" She really didn't want to ruin their trip together, and being sick was no way to have fun. It would be easier if she could just ... will her body to not be sick.

Ania smiled a bit when he intwined his fingers with hers. She would bet that they almost looked like lovers, huddling in an alleyway and holding hands. Thankfully, the pain was beginning to subsist, leaving a dull ache in the pit of her stomach. "I like blue! Red is nice, too. What's your favourite colour?" She wasn't quite sure where that question came from. Maybe he liked to pick random times to learn about people. Interesting hobby to say the least.

"It's hot. I think I'm feeling better, though. She wanted to take off her clothes very badly. The cotton of her current wardrobe clung to her body and didn't feel very nice at all. How could these people stand to live in such a hot area? Flapping her unoccupied arm uneffectively, Ania managed to roll up the bottom of her shirt, hoping that the air would ease it. "Don't they have a winter season?"

<div align=center>Hadrian shook his head, "don't apologize, it's not your fault." He reassured, if it was anyone's fault it was his, he really should have worked out a way to stop that nasty sick feeling by now. "As long as you're okay," he added quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. Blue. He made a mental note of that, "maybe we can find you something blue to wear." He told her, trying to work out in his head where they were. The area was vaguely familiar to him, more often than not he teleported back to the same spot more than once, so he usually knew where he was. He didn't really know what his favourite color was, "I think I like blue, too."

Hadrian didn't really want to let go of Ania's hand, partly because he didn't want to lose her. It was hot, the dust floating about didn't help, no wonder the Romans had all these bath houses dotted about all over the place. "They didn't have winters as cold as us," he told her, "besides, I'm not sure if I've even brought us back in winter time." Hadrian could control the year easily enough, but it was difficult sometimes to pick the exact date, therefore sometimes seasons jumped around and got mixed up. He was glad she was feeling better at least, "you wanna go find something to wear?"</div>

"Maybe we can have matching colours!" she wasn't entirely sure what types of clothes were available, the only one she was familiar with were the toga things. Ania couldn't help but giggle at the image of Hadrian sporting a cute little toga. He would look awfully nice in one. "I don't want clothes, I wan't to take these clothes off." Tugging at her shirt, Ania looked at Hadrian with a pout. It was too hot for clothes, it would be nicer just to not have anything on. Though, it probably wouldn't be proper in these times for an unmarried pair to run around naked together.

Sighing in resignation, Ania nodded. "I suppose if we have to go, then we may as well. D'you think it'll be easy to find clothes? I mean, won't the person selling them be curious about our current clothes?"

<div align=center>It'd be cute to have matching colors, and it was probably a good idea. He didn't think they could pull off brother and sister, they didn't really look much alike, an unsuspecting married couple however, would work as a good mask. It was better not to attract attention to yourself, didn't want to risk changing the course of history. "It's a good idea to do that." He told her, "the matching colors I mean, not the uh, nudity." He possibly wouldn't have minded all that much, but it might get Ania into a little trouble, as well as sunburn. Neither of those things could be considered good.

"If I'm where I think we are," he mused, gently tugging her forward out into the street, "we should be alright." He'd spent a lot of time here before, and had ended up making a few friends at least, one happened to be the merchant of a shop, he had no idea what his name was, but he'd given the story that he was a traveler from a far off land when his clothing had been questioned, which in one way was true. "Go with my story and you'll be alright." He promised, he was well practiced in situations like this.</div>

b]"Nudity is always a good idea! Especially when you're with attractive people."[/b] Well, attractive people that were into you. It took some of the fun out when the person in question had a significant other. Or wasn't interested in your gender. Did Hadrian have a person? Probably, he looked like the kind of person that was rarely single. Following closely behind, Ania clutched his hand tightly, afraid of getting lost. " I think it'll be alright as long as I'm with you. " That sounded horribly sappy didn't it? She sounded like she escaped from a cheesy romance movie.

Staring around at her new surroundings, she tried very hard to not look like a child at an amusement park. Eyes wide and mouth slightly open, Ania was very impressed. She didn't know what exactly she expected, but this was definitely much better. "Okay. Do you know anyone here...?" She wondered what kind of backstory he had invented for himself, especially to explain the clothes.

<div align=center>Hadrian tittered softly, "you're right," he agreed, "luckily we're both in the company of an attractive person, aren't we?" He asked, I think it'll be alright as long as I'm with you. He wouldn't let any harm come to her, perhaps if she'd been someone else he'd be far more open to the idea of her getting lost, but the mere thought of it made him feel terrible. He felt as though he needed to look after her, she was more or less counting on him to keep her safe in this strange environment. He'd promised he would look after her, and besides, he was enjoying her company, as well as her face.

"There's a cotton merchant somewhere around here,", he recognized the street, at least he thought he did, a lot of them more or less looked the same, "just go with what I say, okay?" He said, "it might sound a little strange, but it's the best I can come up with," he paused outside a white painted building with the paint peeling off in little flecks, the door was slightly ajar, propped open with a wooden box of some sort. The man that greeted them was a skinny, weedy looking man with tanned skin. His English wasn't good, but he seemed to know who Hadrian was. </div>

Flushing red, Ania wasn't quite sure how to respond. She hadn't ever considered herself attractive. Did he think she was attractive? The thought that he might think she's pretty made her smile a bit. Hadrian seemed to know where he was headed, and she let him lead, staring at the city with rapture. All the professors and books she had read made it seem so dull. People going about their everyday lives were blissfully unaware of the futuristic couple wandering right by them. It was almost endearing, the culture and the people who inhabited it.

They had stopped at a broken looking building, and Ania was curious why they had stopped when she caught sight of a man. Not wanting to be rude, she carefully hid her thoughts and kept a pleasantly bland expression on. This guy looked like he had seen better days to say the least. He looked like he recognised Hadrian, and Ania wondered if they knew each other. Well if he knew where the shop was, they were probably familiars. Clinging tighter to Hadrian's hand, she hoped that the clothes they were getting were cooler than the ones she had on. Her hand felt gross and sweaty, but she was terrified to let Hadrian go.

<div align=center>Hadrian wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulders, pulling her against him, in a comforting sort of manner. Conversation took place between them for a moment, a mix of bad English and bad Latin. Neither could really speak the language of the other very well, but whatever they were talking about seemed to have gotten across, since the man nodded enthusiastically and hurried off to fetch something. "Are you okay?" He asked Ania, a look of slight concern crossing his face, he got the feeling that she was just a little bit frightened, perhaps. "I've told him I come from a distant land," he told her. "He's gone to fetch us something to wear. Something so we won't melt before we do anything."

He rubbed the back of his neck, an awkward sort of air coming about him all of a sudden, "uhm, cover up is that you're my wife." He admitted quietly, it was easier that way, Ania was at far less risk of anything happening to her if people believed she was attached to another. "Sorry about that... You could have been my sister, but we don't really look much like each other." He apologized, glancing back up again when the strange man returned carrying what looked like lengths of cloth.</div>
